Well I'm about to embark on the use of digital camera. That is, use them for my main source of picture keeping, which means I'll need to be developing some. Are these kiosks you see at like Wal-Mart and Walgreens any good? How do they work? I know they only require your memory card, but do you pay at the kiosk, or do you take the pictures to the register and pay there? I really hate trying something new without having any clue as to what I'm doing. | |||

I'd suggest not using those kiosks. If you have a home printer, you could simply hook your camera up to the computer with a USB. Sometimes, printers make it simplier where you can just put the memory card in the printer, which makes things easier. I reccomed buying Kodak photo paper, which is easily found at an office supply store, and a picture cutter, also found at a supply store. If you like have no printer or something, the kiosks at Wal-Mart are really cool. I am not sure how you pay for them, but I'm sure an assosiate would gladly walk you through the process your first time. |

I've only done that once at Savon, and the machine there took your money in order to print it. Similar to a vending machine, really. It was very simple and quick, no problem at all. But I don't know if all of them are like that. If you aren't sure, you could go there and simply ask for assistance before doing anything. It's always easier that way. |

The one I used was really no different than normal film development, but faster. You put your card in the machine and choose which pictures you want. Come back an hour later (you can take the card ) and pick up and pay for the pics at the counter. I want a digicam though. (That was my dad's.) But $300 for a camera... even if I could afford it and didn't have anything better to spend it on, I'd be worried about buying one. My cameras always break really fast. I really need a digicamera too really bad. I have a cheap free one (still). I never did bring in the camera for copies or had that lil card thing to go get them developed but at least now I know what goes on when you do it and have a clue at what that card thingy is for. I haven't been too much into digicameras..just the old disposable ones. Once I get a job I'll be more techy (edited by Bella on 09-01-05 02:23 AM) |

I've used the kiosk at Costco/Price Club with fairly good results. |
