i think i know what you're talking about, the way one line of 16s repeats itself on the bottom? that's not a glitch, i copied it from SMA4.

Well, even if that is how it looks on SMA4, I would fix it and make it look better. When it repeates itself, its shifted over one pixel every line of 16s. It looks bad, I am sure it wouldnt be too hard to fix it. I dunno, maybe its just me. (edited by Kario on 08-29-05 05:04 AM) |

Good job man. I like the original smb mixed with smb3. BTW. Yeah that cave backround should have been fixed. Even if it was taken straight from SMA4. But it is not that bad. Nothing to create that much fuss over it. |

Great hack, just one problem - theres no challenge! All the levels are already unlocked (unless it has messed up while patching). Other than that, its great! (<3 the overworld) |

Like Untitled said, no challenge with all of the levels unlocked. It is a fun hack to play though . The graphics and overworld are amazing. Good work.

Every time I download a hack from a thread peter_ac started, the zip file seems to be corrupted. If I unzip with WinRAR, I just get: ! C:\...\smbdx.zip: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged |

Yeah I got that the first time, ultimate-koopa. Try pasting the URL into the address bar and re-download, should do the job.

I could explain that by stating that freewebs sucks.

Originally posted by Untitled Thanks for that. At first, it was downloading about 20kb, and I thought, that's a bit too small for an ips file. But it's really over 500kb. I must remember that tip. Thanks again. |

I have a few suggestions for next updates of SMBDX: 1. Try to make the Koopas like the ones in SMB/SMB3. As in when the Koopas are stomped on, they come back from their shells like in SMB/SMB3. Maybe you could do this by making the Koopas like Buzzy Beetles, except they use Koopa graphics and can be killed by fireballs (and the red ones turn back when they reach an end). 2. Change the stopped Koopa shells (and probably Buzzy Beetle shells) to be like in SMB3. Besides those things and Lakitu's cloud, this is a true masterpiece! You did a really great job with this! I'll play more of the hack later. (edited by AP on 08-29-05 12:09 PM) |

I'm glad so many people like this! But there isn't gonna be another version. SMB2 is next!

Like Untitled said, there's not much of a challenge. I'll try making an IPS that only lets you move ahead if you beat the level before it. Otherwise, 10/10 Edit: Nevermind then. (edited by Zachio on 08-29-05 11:30 AM) (edited by Zachio on 08-29-05 11:30 AM) |

Please, don't do that Zachio. If you're going to hack this, make your own levels.

I particularly don't mind the freedom to choose whatever level you want. I've played the old SMB and SMBLL levels so many times, through the actual games and Peter's remakes that it gets boring with the same predictability of the same sequence of levels. So my point being I don't mind it. Anyway, I'll play it later, once I find a Super Mario World ROM, for some reason I can't find one anywhere . |
