You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'birthday=0,minipic='',homepagename='',scheme=0,threadsperpage=5 Depending on what I do to the file, it gives me a similar error, but a different string of code. I have modified the file, but that doesn't seem to be causing the error—I reverted to the original code, and even tried the code from 1.A2, and still got similar errors. Any ideas, anyone? |

Originally posted by RenoLooks like the ' s are in the wrong palces. It should look like this:birthday=$birthday,minipic='".addslashes($minipic)."',homepagename='".addslashes($pagename)."',scheme=$sscheme,threadsperpage=$threadsperpage Also, while you're at it, you need to fix the $vsig var, which should be near Line 37. The last part of that var says $radio=viewsig value=2 $checked2[1]>Auto-Updating"; . It should be $checked2[2] . Otherwise, it forces anyone who has layouts set to auto-update to just have them enabled. |

Gah. Thanks for the reply, Elric, but that's already working correctly. The only thing I can think of is the extra field to the user table I added. Hmm. The field is called "layoutallow", and I added an option to modify it via edituser.php. However, even when I reverted the whole file (as I said) it still didn't work. This is the only thing I can think of that might be causing the problem. |

Hmm... if you just re-extracted the edituser.php file from the archive, then I don't see why it's not working... Have you tried deleting edituser.php from your server, then uploading it? Also, have you tried a refresh? A lot of times, when you change a file, and then go to it in your browser, it's loading the cached version, so you need to F5 to get the latest version... |

Hmm. I've tried all of it, and I still get the same error. I even tried using version 1.A2, and I get the same error. Because I used the exact same copy of 1.A2 that had worked for me on another sever, I'm starting to think that maybe it's a different version of MySQL on this new server. Any idea how I should format the syntax to make it work? And thanks Elric, I appreciate the help. |

The problem is its leaving something blank, or unsigned. You need to set a defalt for that varable(in the php file), and you need to make sure that it checks the DB for the varable. | |||

Okay, I've been looking at the problem again, and I can't seem to find its source. Which variable could it be leaving blank, and where and how should I set the default? And thanks for the feedback. |

The file needs the check the correct DB varable, I sometimes have this problem when a tinyint like a radio button doesn't find the varable. it needs something like $loguser[sex] to get it working properly. |
