AWDS kicks ass. Every single thing Jake says cracks me up. "I bet that thing can rain some hot death!"

Though, campaign mode's difficulty is kinda low, from what I've seen =/

By the way, if you have Advance Wars or Advance Wars 2 in your DS, three new things pop up for purchase for 1 point each in Hachi's store; they're different depending on which one is in.

My friend told me this morning he got Nintendogs yesterday. He told me some stuff about it like you can strangle your dog when you take it for a walk or you can leave his crap on the lawn and let a huge pile start growing. He'll probably tell me more tommorow.

Well, I don't have a DS, and Nintendogs won't make me buy it. And I'm not even sure what Advance Wars is .

Maybe in the future, when the DS is real cheap.

Advance Wars is a turn-based war game series for the GBA, and recently, for the DS.

Nintendogs isn't a Tamagotchi rip-off (PLEASE GOD NO!). Tamagotchi's weren't dogs... They were blobs that beeped when they took a dump. Definitly not Nintendogs. Nintendogs is a true puppy simulator. It focuses more on interaction with your dog and teaching it tricks, instead of Tamagotchi's [i['try to kill your pet blob as fast as you can so it won't beep anymore' goal.

If you have a dog, you'd probably laugh at this dog simulation thing. But for guys like me who isn't allowed to have any, Nintendogs fills a small part of that giant void for non-dog owners. *Sniffs.*

Still haven't opened Advance Wars yet... I really should but Nintendogs is keeping me occupied.

Got both. Here is my opinion on both.

Nintendogs:
Wow... this is fun. You have to talk in the microphone to have the dog do stuff. Let me repeat: TALK in the microphone. The only reason for repeating is to express how weird everyone is going to look when they say "Roll over" in a lonely room. Or worse, saying "Donut, sit" in a classroom.

AWDS:
This game is one of the best strategy games ever! It is an improved version of the other games. It has one of the coolest things ever this time: DS battle. These battles have two battles going on at once... so while you may have one attack going through on one front, on the other you may be losing. This will confuse other players at times (would confuse my friends at least...). It is just awesome how the battle scenes look too. They are more improved and are just... awesome. While there are wireless multiplayer modes, I doubt I will use them, as I like to play with my friends by passing my DS around. And then I will now swamp them with the new units that they added. They like the Neotank too much... well, wait until I unleash the Megatank on their asses! Plus, the whole CO Swap is awesome. Now instead of one CO, just pick two and switch between them in battle. Nice touch.

Colleen and Sasha.

Owned.

Also, the Megatank is WAY too slow. I hate it, you can scarcely hit anything with it. All it takes is indirect fire to just cripple it.

I finally got a chance to play Nintendogs after school yesterday. It was my friends game though so I can't spend any of the money. There wasn't too much money though. I got to do a short walk and that's pretty much it.

Actually, the Wars series has been around for ages. Dual Strike is the 8th game in the series or something.

Don't search too hard for Super Famicom Wars, it sucks.

I got Advance Wars DS and Nintendogs in the span of two days: I've found you can unlock all breeds of dogs, so it doesn't really matter what version you get, it just affects what dogs you start with. I like Nintendogs, it's fun and interesting, but I don't think I like the voice recognition system, it's kinda cumbersome teaching the thing to do tricks and such. Plus, it's too slow to catch a frisbee. But then, I have a beagle, which I'm not sure of the stats of or anything like that. If there even are stats.

I gotta tell you though, it's cute.

I like Advance Wars DS a lot better: Kyouji's right, everything Jake says will crack you up just because they're trying way too hard to conform him to a stereotype. My favorite line so far? "Oh yeah, these are my new stomping boots!"

And then of course, there's the game-defining moment where Black Hole gangbangs you with a Dual Strike for the very first time. I was dumbfounded, mainly because I didn't quite understand the sheer scope of having to deal with your opponent taking two actions at once, a power I thought was specially reserved for Eagle. I guess this means I'll be taking three actions at once with him.

Still, I find soloing missions is interesting too. It's certainly more rewarding and satisfying to watch Jake burn through not one but two COs at once and get double experience for it, and a lot more challenging when they can Dual Strike and you can't. As little respect as I have for his character, Jake's CO power is undoubtedly one of the best.

Super Famicom wars is not that bad, it just that AW is alot better in comperasion. Thought I sorta find the controller in the older AW games unresponsive.

If I have to choose, I probably get AW first. But i'm going to get Nintendogs no matter what later on anyway.

In AWDS, I'm on mission 22 of the campaign mode, having acquired the lab map and gone on the new unit missions at every opportunity. Overall rank is probably S; I've only gotten below it twice and they were both high As. In campaign mode, my highest-used COs are Jake, Rachel, and Colleen in that order, though Rachel has the highest rank of them, because I use her so often in war room and survival. Rachel's SCOP is simply incredible. I mean... I can't tell you how many times it has singlehandedly one me an S-rank when I was about to get my ass kicked. when you're being rushed, 9 damage to a single area or 3 damage to a spread of targets is just... Wow.

I've also acquired a taste for playing as Eagle/Sami. They make such an awesome team, and can storm HQs with incredible ease. And of course, Colleen/Sasha for maximum fund abuse, though I still have yet to get Sasha out of Campaign (I'm on the mission that unlocks them all to be bought, I believe). Still, there's just something very appealing about the prospect of simply loading them with money-building skills and the Star Power skill, then just amassing horrible amounts of funds to build an army the enemy could never touch, and Market Crashing them every time they come close to getting a key CO power to turn the tide.

Man, this game is just too fun.

Hey, Alastor. I'm stuck on Mission 8, the one where you destroy that high-range circular black bomb type deal. I can't get past it! Do you know any strategies?

One or two of the Wars games were translated... you'd have to check The Whirlpool to see which ones.

They're still pretty complex though compared to the simplicity of AW.
