Hey hey. So yeah, my admin panel doesn't work. It never worked. I didn't mind before, because I do all my stuff through PhpMyAdmin... But I may have to appoint administrators on my board soon, so it'd be nice to have a working admin panel... Here's the error message I'm getting: Warning: main(lib/dbinfo.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/free.fr/c/8/stifu/Board/lib/config.php on line 11 Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'lib/dbinfo.php' (include_path='/var/www/free.fr/c/8/stifu/include:.') in /var/www/free.fr/c/8/stifu/Board/lib/config.php on line 11 Path related problem ? Anyone can help ? Thanks. |

Hmm, the problem here is the requires. It looks like a problem with the root directory, just add in the requies /board or /forum or whatever you named your board directory as.

Hmm, I can't figure it out. Even putting the full address in the requires doesn't work (and actually gives more errors)... The paths SEEM right, but it still says "A link to the server could not be established". Errors I get when I put the full paths: Warning: main(lib/dbinfo.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/free.fr/c/8/stifu/Board/lib/config.php on line 11 Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'lib/dbinfo.php' (include_path='/var/www/free.fr/c/8/stifu/include:.') in /var/www/free.fr/c/8/stifu/Board/lib/config.php on line 11 Warning: mysql_query(): A link to the server could not be established in /var/www/free.fr/c/8/stifu/Board/lib/layout.php on line 4 Warning: mysql_query(): A link to the server could not be established in /var/www/free.fr/c/8/stifu/Board/lib/layout.php on line 5 Warning: mysql_query(): A link to the server could not be established in /var/www/free.fr/c/8/stifu/Board/lib/layout.php on line 6 Warning: mysql_query(): A link to the server could not be established in /var/www/free.fr/c/8/stifu/Board/lib/layout.php on line 7 Warning: main(colors.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/free.fr/c/8/stifu/Board/lib/layout.php on line 15 Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'colors.php' (include_path='/var/www/free.fr/c/8/stifu/include:.') in /var/www/free.fr/c/8/stifu/Board/lib/layout.php on line 15 Fatal error: Call to undefined function: errorpage() in /var/www/free.fr/c/8/stifu/Board/admin/index.php on line 23 Edit: It's obviously because of that damn non working $root variable... I replaced it with other stuff on some files... So it doesn't look for stuff in the right place... Yeah, are you using 1.A3? If so, $root has fucked you up. (jokingly and seriously speaking) Same issues on my board. But other than that, mainly any directory outside of my main /board folder does not work, including /admin, /ppanel, and others I've created. A possible solution; if you can move your board to a sub directory, like it's setup here at Acmlm's. (ie. http://board.acmlm.org and NOT http://www.acmlm.org/board) From what ||bass has told me, this fixes a lot of things, although I can't exactly back that up from experience, since I've had issues with my host, my host does not want to take the simple request up in pointing my board to board.xeogaming.net instead of xeogaming.net/board. If you can do that to your site, and simply put up a redirect page at your current location, it could fix all of your $root problems, from all the things ||bass has told me. No, I'm using v1.A2... I had problems with the $root variable, so I changed the paths to things like "../lib/whatever.php" instead of $root."lib/whatever.php", and stuff... So yeah, I'll try moving the admin files around... They should work if I put them in a different directory, I'll try soon and let you know. (edited by Stifu on 08-25-05 08:30 AM) |

I borrowed some files from 1.A2 for my 1.92 board, and those in /admin/ had to be moved to the main board directory. It seems the problem with $root is that it expects the board to be in your root directory, since that's how it is here. Something tells me that if you were to just drop all the board files into /stifu/ and not /stifu/board/ then it would work... |

Fixed ! I moved all the files to the main folder, as advised. This is actually the first time I see an AcmlmBoard admin panel, how moving. |

Huh. I was actually right. Must be a sign of the apocolypse... Now the next trick is to figure out where $root is defined, and fix it... |

I know full well where $root is defined... I tried numerous things, nothing worked. Oh well, whatever, everything works fine now.

Yeah, I went looking for it after I posted that. I'd just nuke the existance of $root, and remove it from all files that contain it, I guess. Unless you happen to have a fix for it, Randy53215?

Maybe I should try moving all my files to my main directory then?

Seems like that, or removing $root, are the best options. I'd remove $root, since I don't like the idea of a board jumbled in with everything else.

So, by removing $root how would I go about replacing it? Just direct link everything? I could probably just make a variable in config that links to my site, then stick that around in place of $root maybe? I think I tried that before, and it didn't work out too well. |

Go through every file, and look for $root. When you find it, replace it with the path to the required file in question. For example, editmods.php looks like this:require '../lib/function.php'; Replacing require $root.'/lib/layout.php'; with require '../lib/layout.php'; should work...Leaving $root alone in function.php shouldn't cause any problems, since after you remove it from the other files, nothing will call it. On a side note, I noticed that there's another $root var in function.php: //$root = $_SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"]."/board"; Has anyone tried uncommenting the first $root, and commenting the 2nd one? Also, if protector.php is in the same dir, why does it have this: require $root.'/lib/protector.php'; Maybe that's what's causing problems with $root? Or maybe it's because the path for $root is surrounded by "quotes" instead of 'apostrophies' like other paths? |

Originally posted by Elric Yeah, it does. That's what I did. Originally posted by Elric Yeah I did try that... Among other things... It still wouldn't work. Anyway, it works all fine for me now, so I won't bother... I just hope they'll come up with an easily working $root variable in Acmlm v2.0... Or just not $root variable at all, I guess the "Base Board URL" thing should do all by itself. (edited by Stifu on 08-26-05 06:39 AM) |

Originally posted by Elric This is working for me in a sense, but something really seems to be messed up, something very simple probably. When I go into /admin, it'll be fine, but the board banner will not display, and all of the links go "back" a directory. So, if I wanted to go to editmods.php through the admin panel, the link would appear as: http://www.xeogaming.net/admin/editmods.php When it should be: http://www.xeogaming.net/board/admin/editmods.php It takes -everything- back a directory. Clicking on "Main" will take me to xeogaming.net, and not xeogaming.net/board I've had this problem for awhile ... this also occurs when I go into edituser and try to edit somebody, edituser will be fine, but will not update the user because when it officially updates, it goes back a directory into my main sites folder and therefore cannot find function.php Editing the links in the admin's index.php didn't seem to help at all. Should I just reupload every 1.A3 file into my main -main- directory, and see if everything works there? Then again, I'm hoping to get a new host soon ... someone who would actually take a few minutes to put my board at board.xeogaming.net. You shouldn't HAVE to have your board at board.yoursite.com. If they hadn't rushed the development of the board, it wouldn't be a problem. Then again, if they had just left well enough alone, and followed the idiom, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", there'd not be problems. Did you try doing 'board/lib/funtion.php'; ? |

Originally posted by Elric Just tried that out, didn't seem to work. I do have my directories setup like they 'should be', right? main site - public_html, where /board is - in /board, the /admin and /ppanel folders are placed there So basically, should /admin be placed outside of my /board directory? Ugh, this has been an issue forever. I should probably just nuke $root, completely, like everyone else has. Edit: Thing is I had tested a lot of things before, and I do have an admin folder in my main public_html directory, outside of my /board directory anyways. Guess it doesn't make much of a difference? (Hopefully I'm making sense) (edited by Xeolord on 08-26-05 10:16 PM) (edited by Xeolord on 08-26-05 10:16 PM) |
