Seems like most of the replies here are in regards to fantasy novels. Anyone like anything from other genres?

Currently reading "A Storm of Swords", part 3 from GRR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. Quite very good fantasy, I read the prequels "A Game of Thrones" and "A Clash of Kings" before, in the English version because I like original storys and this improves my English. When I'm done, it goes on with "A Feast of Crows"

Edit: A book's quality is independent from its number of pages in general

I'm currently on the 12th book of the New Jedi Order, which is a great storyline continuation many years after RotJ. It's great to see the changing styles of the books as the authors switch-- it's amazing how well the Star Wars EU authors collaborate, share unique characters, keep the Star Wars Galaxy stable (almost no inconsistencies), and still tell a compelling story.

Currently, I'm reading The Catcher in the Rye. I actually like this book. It's a book I'm supposed to read in english 11. It made me laugh a bit because how he describes things and the language he uses to describe those things. I think it's in or around the 1940's. So far the language hasn't been bad. Isn't it banned in some places just because of it? I need to finish reading the chapters I'm supposed to tonight. I'll get to that soon .

I haven't heard anything about it being banned, but maybe it is. I just don't really see how it would be banned for language. It's really not that bad. Now, they might not use it in some schools, because it gets a little crude for, say, a Christian private school or junior high. Other than that, I'd be surprised.
