First off, the article here was found by me with absolutely no help at all from MonopolyMan. Anyway, besides the fact that Wal-Mart stores make use of approx. 120.3 gazillion video cameras (margin of error +/- 3), you could also be killed. So yeah, don't do it folks. It's not worth your life. No word on if they handed out free samples of charred chest meat. |

Wow, now I hate Wal-Mart even more than I use too. Now if you excuse me, I shall leave this thread and never speak of this again, maybe. (edited by fabio on 08-14-05 10:43 AM) |

Originally posted by Viceroy Legion That is so true. This story was a bit weird though... A man suspected of shoplifting goods from an Atascocita Wal-Mart — including diapers and a BB gun — had begged employees to let him up from the blistering pavement in the store's parking lot where he was held, shirtless, before he died Sunday, a witness said. Robbing a place for diapers with a BB gun.XD |

Problem is that with so many Wal-Mart employees holding him down and thinking that they did the right thing... you can't really start firing out tons of murder charges. :\ Looks like it's the practices of the chain that are in question here. Of course, whether he stole or not is a moot point at the moment. The guy's dead. :\ |

The thing is, they had him on the pavement for quite some time while he was screaming in pain. Many of the onlookers were telling them to let him up. Someone even brought out a rug for him to lie on but they refused it. | |||

Geesh. The nerve of some Wal-Mart employees. I'll never look at Wal-Mart the same again. O_o;; |

...How stupid of them. What's he going to do try and run when there's a crowd of onlookers and employees around? They could have let him up. Where were the cops? ...And to think I applied to work there. (edited by Danielle on 08-14-05 03:17 PM) |

I can understand why they didn't let him up though... honestly, their brains probably couldn't process the "boiling hot pavement + body = bad" equation. They'll get off with nothing. Aside from losing their Wal-Mart jobs though. The horror. |

Wow. ... ... ... That sucks, glad I never got caught when I stole from Wal-Mart... ... ... ... Oh, and usually I stole cards (Some Yu-Gi-Oh, but Magic makes better profits), and sold them at hobby shops in Michigan. I've sworn off stealing from most stores, though- Mostly because of this kind of horror story. Kleptomania is hard to keep down, though, even with THAT kind of pressure. |
