Is it possible to use the 'Follow Me, Pokemon' (or whatever the follow-me-Pikachu is called) action from POKEMON Yellow in Pokemon Rb/Sa/Em/FR/LG?

No.

Well, not unless you do some extensive ASM hacking. Nuff said.

Wouldn't it just involves levels scripts?

Unless you know of a command to see what button you're pressing...

Actually, it could be done in script but it's a very advanced thing to do. Wendigo doesn't stand even half a chance and even I have my doubts.

Well, in gold/silver you could do it with ingame-scripts. There is a command which prompts a person to follow hero. There are scripts which are executed every time you enter a map. So you "only" would have to add this command in every of those scripts. I don't know if there is such a command in Rb/Sa/Em/Fr/Lg, too ... but if not the only way would be ASM hacking.

Psuedo

#org 0xFFFFFF // Dunno just doing that
movesprite 0xYY 0xPlayerX-1 0xPlayerY-1

if detectthiskey 0x1 // could probably hack the pointer to the memory of key status
// fill in code for various image things
end

Something like that i'm eating and lazy so hah

PlayerX - 1? Do we even have math functions? You're on the right track with the key detection though.

Just have pointer to a simple asm command like

cmp keyaddie, whatkey you want
move pressed, r1
or r1,r1

then return or something to that nature

Well Kawa, I know I wouldn't be able to do it... but thanks anyway!
