I think it's just the pallete. The red is too dark, and it should be more white or even yellow, but not that dark gray. | |||

It is possible that he could actually add the feather to his hat, as well as give him the bunny ears with the gliding effect. To get rid of flying and just have gliding is possible. With a little work it could be alot like the actual Mario land 2. |

Here's some more screenshots, Most of the Tree Zone is complete. I'll release a demo maby Friday or Saturday.I'm running into brick walls with this hack. Because peter ac changed small Mario into 1 tile, I can't use SML 2 small Mario,my overworld is horrible, and it's hard to find replacements for enemies in SML 2 thats not in SMW without losing that SML 2 feel. I may end up transferring all the levels and my edited graphics into a fresh SMW rom and use some of my own BGs since peter's gfx only patch just really dosn't fit this game very well, and it will help clear half of my problems.(mainly the small Mario problem) Neverless, I'm still going to finished this hack the best way I can. Screen 1: Nice background is Yoshi's Island 5-8 I think. Screen 2: Not bad, but if you're going for an EXACT copy of SML6GC, the path going to the right shouldn't be there. Leave the red dot, but in the actual Game Boy version, you can't see the path. Screen 3: Good Screen 4: Good, but I don't like the palette on the ground - that's just me though Screen 5: See screen 4 comment. Looks great. Fix the OW, and it will be great. Keep up the good work. |

That purple sky is pretty spiffy. Straight out of Mute City in F-Zero! What's with the "5" in the second screenshot, in the overworld, all the way at the top of the thread? It looks a little bizarre. |

I think the block graphics are from SML2, and so are the goombas and koopas, also could you, Link2004, post the original screenshots from the Gameboy next to your screenshots because it's hard for me to work out what stage(s) the screenshots are from. Link2004. I REALLY LOVE THIS IDEA. I have many Mario world hacks including on your site. When you done with this hack. Of course I'm gonna play SML2 in SNES mode. Note that I do own the Original SML2 for the Original Gameboy a month ago by trading 2 Megaman Extreme games with SML2 at Gamestop. |

So do I. But I think it would be really cool if you could add SML2 music (midis), and the level graphics are exactly the same, including the backgrounds (just coloured and enhanced). And, the 'turtle eating mario when he enters 'Turtle Zone'' animation (what are you gonna do, Link2004 for the turtle zone, just have a normal entrance/exit?) Anyway, can't wait to play the demo when it's released (friday or saturday, maybe, as you say ), and I can wait even less to play the full thing. One: Music cannot be implemented yet. Two: The Turtle animation would require some heavy duty ASM hacking, which Link knows not much about. |
