Hi, I'm making a rom hack of Super Mario Bros., and I'm having a bit of trouble.
I want to edit Luigi's colors, but I can't find any programs or information that would help. Could someone help me out?

I'm assuming that you can't use assembly code to find out where the palettes are loaded from. (Don't worry, I can't do that either.)

You can view palettes in FCEUXD (and Nesticle, if you've got an old comp); look around for the green and white and you'll see the bytes that correspond to these colors by moving the mouse over the blocks in the palette view.

NesterJ lets you make changes to the RAM and view them on the fly, but this didn't work well with FCEUXD in my experience (could be wrong).

Then you have to find these colors in the ROM. A good first shot is to search for a line of colors from the palette viewer, since there will surely be many instances of other two-byte strings coincidentally matching your colors.

in still brand spanking new to the whole rom hacking but from what I understand, you need a hex editor to do any kind of hacking and this is only a guess but I think all you would need to do is change a few addresses where the color pallet is located.

The location is unknown to me though.
Sorry.

On my board, I put together a SMB data thread from other ROM hackers that should help you out with what you wanna do. Take a look at it here.

Hey, I messed around with a program called the Nes Palette Editor, and I found the offset for Luigi's pallete. It's 000005E0. Hope this helps anyone making a palette editing program.
