| "You'd make a pretty darn good Psi Warrior," Yiusi says at his comment. Rijju lets out a faint, low growl as Janus climbs on, not a hostile one, but more like an "I trust you for now, human". One couldn't tell those exact words, though, but maybe its meaning was clear... "We're all ready!" Yiusi says, loud and clear. And both summons take off. The vehicle Yiusi rides is fast, but Rijju's four legs morph back into plasma as it runs and it streaks ahead like a comet. It slows down as not to lose sight of Yiusi. The desert is vast, but they both seem to know where they're going... Yiusi stays in a tight kneel while on the vehicle, and one may even determine she's asleep. Well, it is true that it's very late at night and neither of them have slept yet... The winds are picking up, and it's getting cold. |

| Janus stayed awake... (thinking): 'A pretty darn good Psi Warrior, huh... I've always appreciated the power that Psi Warriors have. It feels like they're paragons of justice and righteousness. But, I can't help but wonder if it's all for the same cause or not? Psi Warriors are supposed to be uncorruptible. I know for a fact I'm far from that. I really hope this is only temporary.' Janus raised his hand in front of his face, and turned his head over toward Yiusi. She was definitely asleep. No more real need for inner monologue. "One... One problem I have with this..." His voice was barely a whisper now, as his hand ignited with the blue ethereal fire, a faint glow that cast shadows across his face. "...Is that while it's very powerful..." The flame went out. Janus closed his eyes and felt his body shudder as he began to bottle up his feelings and confusion. "...It's very, very cold." The two vehicles raced off into the night, across the desert and to their destination. |

| OOC: This may be the end of Part 3. After what seems like a hard-to-determine amount of time, the sun begins to rise in the distance... and as the light hits the desert sand, the city of Pentalipse comes into view. Interesting... it's a harbour city, shaped like a cresent around the water, but what's the sea doing on the edge of the desert? If one looks around, one could see many rare plants slowly becoming more and more dense as one nears the city... so the desert is turning from barren and sunstruck to green and healthy. Then it turns into sandy beach again at the water, only almost none of the beach-part is there anymore, because Pentalipse sits over the beach... It looks not only like a harbour, but complete with many heavy yet clean industrial gizmos, machines, and buildings. Yiusi wakes up and begins to stretch, even though she has stood the entire time... but by now she's probably pretty stiff. Then she remembers... "Criish, let's dismount in 30 seconds." As if responding, both summons very slowly begin to slow down, and by the time they come to a complete stop they'll be within efficient walking distance of Pentalipse. 32 seconds later, after Yiusi has dismounted, she watches as SP-Criish morphs again, becoming his humanoid form once again. "Whew... That was strenuous. Still, I'm glad I could serve my princess. Where are we?" Yiusi waves her arm towards the huge buildings ahead of them, and Criish's glossy eyes waver upon seeing their majesty... "Ah! ...They're huge! ...They're seriously like nothing I've ever seen before! These huge buildings are everywhere?" "It depends on the continent you visit," Yiusi tells him. "Janus here probably sees them all the time. Isn't that right?" |

| Janus' eyes widened at the massive cityscape. Industrial buildings. Crazy stuff went on in there, he knew. This one story that Dracoon had once told... Later. Anecdotic revue was comforting. Janus: "Yeah, I've definitely seen places like this before... For a while I lived in a city with some friends. Then some really weird stuff happened... I guess technically I shouldn't remember it happening, but what stands out most to me is that we all decided to stop living in the city and just start going out and seeing the world again. Since then, it's been some time since I saw a place like this, but it's always a welcome sight." He stared at one of the tallest buildings in the industrial area... Of all of them, it was the cleanest and the most intricately designed, with a great pyramidial structure that expanded around a pentagonal base. Smaller extensions expanded from the top of the tower, which looked like it had been cut off at the middle. It seemed almost as though it was a small city itself, atop a plateau. It was just an illusion, in reality those were ultra-efficient smokestacks that gave off hydrogen exhaust into the atmosphere. "There... That's a water transfusion plant. It must be helping to nourish those plants on the outskirts of the city. They're designed to keep the atmosphere around them comfortable and tropical, and to add more water into a dry climate. You'd think such a machine would be needlessly expensive, but for some reason they're almost magically able to keep running. I've got my suspicions as to why, but I've already babbled on enough..." He removes himself from Rijju, and begins to walk forward. "...We've got business to attend to here. Not only that, but yesterday's events prevented us from getting any kind of food at all... You must be hungry, Miss Yiusi." He gestures to her to follow him into the city... |

| She stops a moment, and replies... "Oh, yes! I forgot about that, in the chaos of trying to get moving..." "I am hungry as well, Princess! But what is there to safely consume in this dimension?" Pause. "Oh... Ya know, I hadn't thought of that. Janus, you could probably pull something out of that bag of yours, couldn't you? ...I know we intended to eat dinner together last night, but there was that whole Oracle Temple destroyed and all... It would kinda take time to go to a cafe. *sigh* Sometimes I wish things were a little more relaxed and easygoing... After we settle this, maybe?" |

| Janus: "I'd be happy to. But unfortunately, I don't exactly have anything too substantial to eat... Just these." He pulled from his sack the ever familiar, ever nourishing, ever enlightening Yggdrassilberry. A copy of one, anyway. Fortunately, he could make as many as he needed. They weren't very filling, but they were very nourishing, and good for keeping a person alive when they needed to live. The juice was rumored to be able to seal up wounds, but Janus was never really into alchemy. Someday, he supposed. For now, he tossed a branch of the kiwi-sized berries over to Yiusi. "Here, eat them. They'll keep you going until we can get some real food. They're not bad. I personally find them too sweet, and the flavor gets old after about a week's worth of eating them in the middle of Russia, but I'm guessing they're not meant to be used like that." He swallowed his berries in a few short bites... He felt a little less hungry, and much more energetic, and happy that he was actually able to be of use for the time being. So far, Yiusi had been stealing the show... It was the guy who was supposed to do the impressing, traditionally. But then, losing that Oracle temple must've been a harsh blow for her. Janus naturally decided that he wouldn't let it happen again, if he could help it. "Relaxed and easygoing, huh? Again, not my style. Gotta keep moving! Especially now, right...?" |

| Yiusi catches a handful. "Yeah, but... You'd have to agree that even for someone of your style, even a moment of relaxation is necessary, right? You can't just have action ALL the time... or at least, that's what I believe. Balance of all categories, they say, is the key to long-lasting peace. And peace is important even in war, which is in definition, anything BUT peaceful. Make sense?" She eats one of the berries, and suddenly her knees wobble as she stumbles to the ground at a kneel. "SWEEEET!!" "Princess Yiusi!" She slowly gets back up... "Be careful if you eat those, Criish... Hoo..." Criish stares at the berries he's holding. "Uh... I can't eat these, I don't believe. I have done a slight scan and they don't appear safe for someone from my dimension, including me, to eat. I apologize." Yiusi holds her head as they enter the city. "Well... What do you eat, again? I forget... That berry was strong." "Anything that contains the Dio-Elixer 39 Nutrient. All fruits in my home dimension contains that nutrient in it, and without it, the rations become poisonous to me." Yiusi seems mostly better now. "Okay... In a large city, they should have a Specialty Cafe handy. I believe I can trust Criish to find it on his own while I locate the Oracle Temple. But I gotta hurry... We lost a lot of time trying to leave Sandsalot, and I fear the Temple may be gone by now..." Almost as if on cue, some guy that looks like a spy approaches the party; only difference is that he has a police badge on him. "How's it going, guys? Listen, by law I need to kick you out of Pentalipse. We had a major incident and the city council is not allowing anyone to enter or leave the city. C'mon, scoot..." He attempts to scoot the whole group back out of the city... "Hey, what's this?" Yiusi half-exclaims, "Sir, we NEED to be here! Let go!" |

| There is an awkward silence... The man has barely flinched, showing his guts. Then, "Okay... I'll let this offense go because we've got a lot to deal with. A church was destroyed last night. Not a church, a temple." Yiusi panics. "An Oracle Temple?" "Precisely. And we don't have a clue who did it. So I'd appreciate it if you both just l--" Suddenly, Yiusi takes off, dashing, through the city. "Lady, get back here! Uh..." He remembers Janus's threat. "You might want to let go of me now before I gain a legal reason to kill you." His free hand is, very very secretly, edging close to something on the side of his belt... At the same time, Riiju has silently made his way behind the sleek cop, lowering his metallic head... Criish is nowhere in sight. |

| Janus: "You could make me half lead, half man and your reason would still never lead to method... If you or your cronies even think about touching her again, I'll catch your bullets in my teeth and spit them back into your hearts." Not wanting to risk any further conflict, Janus completely disregarded the law and dropped the officer roughly into the sand. He shouldered his bag and dashed off in the sun, quickly catching up to Yiusi and taking hold of her hand. Running like a hedgehog, he carried her in his arms to the inner city, where a growing crowd was (as is par for the course) gathering around the ruined temple. Janus couldn't believe his eyes... It wasn't so much a temple as it was an entire cathedral. Again, another place he had heard about over the years. It was surprising that he hadn't remembered Pentalipse before... This was the location of one of the largest Oracle Temples in the country. It was able to be built because the city was so affluent. The rare plants that grew out in the city allowed incredible advances in medicinal technology to be made. On the other hand, with the coming of technological advance would naturally come spiritual advances... The Oracle Temple was made ever more constructive and lavish in celebration of the fusion of science and nature that had occured in Pentalipse when the moisture refinery had been constructed. People saw it as a miracle from the Aether, and believed ever harder in the power of the world and the Life Aspects. Unlike Sandsalot, groups of people were kneeling on the ground and weeping, praying to the Oracles and the Ethereal spirits that somehow, some sense of closure could be achieved from this disaster. Janus set her down near the rubble, and several of the monks who had gathered around the ruins stared at her, and their eyes turned dewy, as though their salvation had come. They waited, expectantly... "Hrm. I think you've got a job to do..." |

| "Uh..." She quickly turns to Janus. "Do you expect me to say something? You know that I'm... just as grieved..." She looks at those staring hopefully at her. "Do they even know that I'm... you know...?" she adds, not wanting to give herself away. There is a long pause... then a disciple way in the back shouts as loud as he can bear, "Show us the Yiusi Ball!!!" This unnerves Yiusi a little... but now she realizes they know her secret deep down, and that Kyr'Shei is directly helping them all get through this. Pulling the Ball from nowhere, she holds it up for all to see. "Yes, this is Oracle Energy. Which would make me, well, an..." She lets them finish the sentence in their minds. Instantly the group of disciples is caught up in tears and prayers, praising Kyr'Shei. Yiusi tries calming them down a little... "Now wait a moment, enough chaos, please! I'm just as stumped as you guys are..." Then she turns privately to Janus. "Ugh... I was hoping not to have to give my secret away. Any ideas?" Meanwhile, in the shadows, almost invisible, several of those SWAT-type cops, all firearmed, are positioning themselves in various undercover places and aiming right at Yiusi. Looks like SOMEone didn't want this kind of event to happen at this very moment... who is just getting up off the sand after a quick chat into his 2-way radio... |

| *chick-click* The sound of a gun cocking hit Janus' ears... *chick-click* Another gun... A chorus of them were picked up by Janus' well-tuned senses. Satchel: "Hey, chief, you wanna do something about all of this? Maybe...." Janus: "Relax, Satchel. I've got this one covered... I don't like the idea of what might be happening here, but I'm ready to take care of it. We can't let Yiusi know how much danger she's in right now." As he finished his telepathic conversation, Janus' look changed from one of alert resignation to quiet confidence. "Simple, Milady. Just show them the power, the Oracles are here to get them through this. Make sure, though, that you let them know that you're on your way out, and can't stay for fear of another temple being smashed. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to concentrate on something. Keep them busy!" Janus closed his eyes... This was gonna be tough, but if he did it right, it'd get rid of all of this trouble and nobody would be hurt at all. He began to glow a dull blue color, almost unnoticeable to the naked eye, and undetectable except by someone with glasses of the magnitude of Agent Blue's... It wasn't ether. |

| "Right..." Yiusi turns to the crowd, and they take the cue and become silent. "Friends, and followers of Kyr'Shei... I am a child of Kyr'Shei himself, coming to you by his will and his will alone... I am Yiusi. And yes... I am an Oracle walking this earth, as can be determined by this sphere, the Yiusi Ball that guides me through this existance. We seem to be faced with a dillema of sorts... This is the second house of Kyr'Shei that has been smashed so far." There is a murmur of sock through the crowd. "But do not fear! Fear will only feed the fire, in this case the criminal's will to spread chaos and destruction amongst you. That is his plan, so do not fall into his trap! ...I feel it is Kyr'Shei's will for me to do his works, so I have vowed to stop the criminal in his tracks, no matter what stands in my way. As you know, we cannot let any more of our Temples fall into to the hands of oblivion!" They cheer, and it gets silent again for Yiusi to finish. "My friend Janus and I have made much progress, but I feel there will be more obstacles in our path. Do not fall into despair, or it shall hinder us more. Instead, stay in the path of Kyr'Shei, pray and hope, for your encouragement will not go unnoticed by him, or by us. He rewards those who have faith in the Oracles, and on that you have my word." As she continues speaking, SP-Criish makes his way out of a Specialty Cafe several blocks away. "Wow... That guy sure was nice. Say...!! Isn't that Princess Yiusi I hear speaking?" "FREEZE!!" A cop has a sleek-looking gun pointed right at Criish. Criish studies the pistol. "Hey, that's pretty cool! Definitely not like the pistols back at my h--" BANG! The cop fires once, and it nails Criish right in the head. He stumbles back a little and holds his head, slightly wounded yet with no visible mark... but VERY dazed. The gunshot triggers many things. First, Riiju comes charging down the street in self-defense, forms himself into a tornado of plasma and buffets the cop against a building in an electrifying manner. Criish, still dazed, gets on Riiju's back (after he morphs into his metal form again) and they take off away from the now wobbly cop. Second, as Yiusi speaks, the crowd hears the gunshot and panics, becoming a riot of monks that are taking off in hearly all directions. "Wait a sec! Guns?" Yiusi says, befuddled. Third, the cops take this as their chance to open fire. POW! POW! The Yiusi Ball automatically hovers in the air and begins deflecting the bullets with amazing timing, deadening the lethal projectiles. Yiusi takes a defensive stance, concentrating, as she and the Ball view the world as one. A small portion of the monks break off from the panicked crowd and return to Yiusi, believing in her. This act seperates the true disciples from the lukewarm disciples easily, and this makes Yiusi smile. Wow... lot happening at once, ain't it? |

| It ain't... Not when Janus stops concentrating and focuses on an instant. Rather, the second the guns start firing, he stops time... The bullets stopped. Janus watched them slow to a halt in the air, and could feel the waves of displaced atmosphere coming from them. Rijju and SP-Criish stopped. Rijju's plasmatic skin came to look like a spiked ball of still energy as he too was frozen in time. SP-Criish simply took on the appearance of an archaic suit of armor... The monks stopped. Some of them were in the middle of worshipping Yiusi, leaving them in rather amusing positions that Janus really shouldn't have laughed at, but he did. The Yiusi Ball stopped. It looked like a baseball that had just been hit by a home-run slugger as it prepared to deflect an oncoming bullet. The bullet that would come next, however, would not be able to be deflected. It was a good thing that Janus had stopped time now, or Yiusi would have had a few ventilation holes to deal with. Yiusi didn't stop. Janus could see her quivering in fear, and he imagined she'd probably be very disoriented, since her physical body was freed, but half of her spirit was still frozen in time (i.e. the Yiusi Ball). His hand lay on her shoulder. He came a little closer to her, and put his arm around her, trying to get her to stop concentrating on something that she really didn't have much control over anymore. The silence was actually kind of eerie. Janus' voice echoed as he spoke... Janus: "Hey, hey... You alright? Relax. We've got plenty of time..." |

| Yiusi looks at her surroundings, a little unnerved... "I didn't... know you could do that... Ah!" She suddenly grabs her head and slumps to the ground. (Janus might've been there to catch her.) "I'm s-sorry... When Guardian s-stopped, it f-felt like a w-wall of bricks to m-me... Ah, dizzy..." She's also shaking. Perhaps stopping time while she was in that state with the Ball was a bad idea. |

| Janus walked over to the ball, and picked it out of the instant, handing it to her and being careful to help her to her feet as he did. Janus: "I said to relax... You shouldn't be too disoriented now. I've been able to do this for many years. It's how I retain my longevity. Now, take a look around you. Time's been stopped so that we can make an escape, but I've also done it for several other reasons." He took a step away and turned around to face her. "We're alone now... We won't be disturbed until I start things up again. Can you tell me what you're thinking? I want to know what's going on inside your head right now. I'm curious, it's been a rough few days for you." |

| Yiusi takes hold of the Yiusi Ball softly, and stands up. She feels better. "Ah, that's better... Guardian always refreshes me." She faces Janus sincerely. "You want to know what I'm thinking? ...Well... The last few days have definitely been different. I tried the Stardust Speedway, I fell, you came and saved me... which I'm still grateful for, and always will be... and right from the start, I knew you as a friend, a REAL friend... one who sees me not as some special being of a higher lifeform or any of that hodge, but as a person. I don't get a lot of that, in fact I've never gotten it before at all, not even from Schwa. So... it's been a change for the better travelling along with someone I feel cares for me like a family member, almost... "But there are these other sensations that I feel on occasions. Something that goes a little deeper than 'friend'... something that I have never felt before, not recently, not 700 years ago, or anywhere in between. These inner feelings... They fascinate me, as I cannot put them into words. So, I won't try... "The one thing I think of the most, though... What if I didn't take the Speedway? Or what if I bought some acceptable gear, then tried it, and didn't fall? Would things be as they are now? It's like... Every tiny thing that ever happens can directly alter the timeline... and throughout my life so far in this Plane, that seems to be the core quality Kyr'Shei keeps indirectly teaching and reminding me. It is a very poetic and beautiful idea... "I hope that sufficed. What about you?" she askes, "Are you going to tell me your thoughts, too? I'm curious, too." |

I don't jump to conclusions so easily. It was nice of you to tell me, though. Ready?" He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek... "For luck." And time restarted, as hails of gunfire aimed at where Yiusi used to be passed harmlessly through the air and into the dirt, kicking up clouds around the worshipping monks. "Ha, it worked! It'll take a few seconds for them to notice us, let's take those two and get the hell out of here!" |

| "So I gotta keep guessing for now..." Yiusi thinks at Janus's first comment. And as she and Janus approach the two allies and time restarts, Yiusi is a little startled at time starting again, but she takes the cue. Criish does, too, as he morphs back into a vehicle and Yiusi lands skillfully on it. Riiju pauses just long enough for Janus to get on, and with everyone accounted for, they take off to the west-- straight towards the water! However, Criish's morph seems to travel even better in the water than on sand, and Riiju's legs morph into plasma which allows him to streak over the surface without touching it. "We're going to NuBodia next," Yiusi explains, holding her Ball close to her. "We're getting close. If we hurry, we'll be able to head the perpetrator off at the pass. Our opponent apperantly never had the means to cross the sea directly." |

| OOC: Sorry Schwa, I know you hate this, but it's a crossover reference and I'm really doing it for subplot purposes... Janus: "How could you tell all of that? I didn't pick up anything from that, all I got out of it was that the feds apparently aren't happy to see us..." He was about to continue, but before he could a large, feathery object slammed directly into him, flying on a direct opposite course with Rijju. The moment Janus regained his senses, he discovered that it was, of all things, an owl. Janus checked his watch. 9:00 AM, his time. Right on time, oddly enough. He had forgotten. "Yagh! Oh... Oh, wait... Huh, it's my subscription to the Daily Prophet... I get it to keep up on the mystical world. Bit of a rag, if you ask me, but it's pretty reliable when it needs to--- Oh, shit." The owl pecked impatiently at his hand, and Janus nonchalantly placed a few coins from his pocket into the bird's ankle pouch. The bird took off, and Janus stared dumbfounded at the front page headline... 'Rogue Psi Warrior Attacks Local Authorities!' On the front page of the newspaper was a very eerily clear picture of a streak of blue light smashing into an Apache helicopter, and the remnants of a massive explosion in the background. Janus' eyes widened as he read aloud... "Two nights ago, over the Stardust Speedway, several federal helicopters were destroyed by a powerful flying entity. Local authorities have determined the entity to have emitted an ethereal signature at the time of destruction, a known trait of the Psi Warriors, who are supposed warriors of the Life Aspects of Virtue, Respect, and Honor. Current high-profile Psi Warriors, such as Dr. Zin, Prince Schwa, and Allaura have been determined to be innocent of all crimes, but this lashing out against the law enforcement agencies has been taken as a severe black mark on the Psi Warrior record. Also noteworthy was the creature's blue ethereal signature, an as-yet-unseen aspect of the most common Psi Warrior sightings. The country's special forces have been alerted to the presence of this warrior, and are attempting to track him even as this story is published. The ethereal signature, which seems to be strengthened by the presence of some form of Oracle Energy, was last noticed in Sandsalot, heading in the direction of the city of Pentalipse. If you see ANY creature giving off a blue ethereal signature, please alert your local authorities for investigative purposes." Janus lowered the newspaper and swallowed nervously, a worried expression on his face. "Special Forces"? He didn't like the sound of that. It was a wonder the police in Pentalipse hadn't caught on to him just yet... And what was worse, he was unintentionally giving Psi Warriors across the land a bad rap! "Y... Yiusi, I think we're in a little more trouble than it seems right now..." He let the newspaper fly off into the wind, and hoped Rijju could go faster, or else... |
