First off, it's blackhole89 .

He is busy programming some tRO ASM stuff. He mentioned it a while ago (a week?). I'm not to sure on the % complete, but it will be done when it's done. You can PM him and ask him about it.

I did about 2 weeks ago and thats when he told me he was busy and on vacation and all that fun stuff.

~EDIT~

So I don't sound like a total ass here is a link to where blackhole89 said this stuff.

Dude, Solar Soundtrack is awsome, just about everyone else here has said they "can wait a while, have a happy vacation blackhole89". The guy deserves his vacation.

I am fairly certain there was a bug that crashed the computer. I know thats fixed now. It is taking a long time, but I think it's worth the wait.

Perhaps he is working for Microsoft

XD Good play on microsoft, prepare to be sued for libel.

Anyways, the bug was a memory leak that was caused by one too many commands sent to a msgbox or seomthing, which was filling up some stack or another.

We are taking advantage of blackhole89 because he is the only one doing this... you guys should really leave him alone to his work, and HE DOESN'T have to release it, its his choice.

It's easy to say that no one should bother blackhole since he's doing the community a favor, but on the other hand... isn't it possible that someone else would have taken the initiative and made a program if he hadn't? I mean, why bother starting if there's a guy who's saying he's 90% done?

But anyways, here's what he said in another thread :

Fourthly, Solar Soundtrack is nearly done, and has already been so for quite a while. In other words, I haven't touched it since Emuz engaged me as the new tRO client hacker. There are some few crucial features I wouldn't like to release it without to be done, but I have got rid of the memory leak at last (which was caused by myself adding a parameter to an API callback routine thoughtlessly, thus messing up the stack big time), so there still is hope. I am on holidays on Mallorca right now, though, so I have no chance to do anything about it.

So, maybe he'll finish when his vacation's over. Who knows.

All right, so from what I gathered, Solar Soundtrack is basically gonna allow us to put any music we could ever want in our hacks, right? So we could put Mario 64 music, or Final Fantasy music, or whatever we want, am I correct, or wrong?

Wrong. From what I can gather, you can only insert .spc music files due to the SNES music memory limit (64KB, I think), meaning you can only put in soundtrack from other SNES games. (Or NES and Gameboy, if you have the correct conversion utility)

Well, thats still A LOT better than typical SMW music - besides, the best VG music ever was from SNES games, like Chrono Trigger, the Final Fantasy series, and other Mario games. So it shouldn't be too hard to make a great sounding game

If he released it now you would be complaining about how many bugs you wanted him to fix. Just dont post these kinds of threads... for my sake at least.

Who the hell keeps saying you "could insert SPCs from other games"? First off, the SPC programs of non-N-SPC games (e.g. Secret of Mana) are vastly incompatible with SMAS' and always will be. Secondly, the concept of "SPC=song" is plain wrong. Most "simpler" (e.g. SMW) games' SPC dumps contain the soundtrack data for a whole part, if not all, of the game.
The main purpose of Solar Soundtrack, anyways, is to allow you to compose your own music.

I will be back from vacation on the 23rd, and will try to have SST released shortly after. Not much I can promise though.

Don't worry about promises. SS will be a great program, just take your time. BTW, hope you have a great end to your vacation.

Yeah go enjoy your vacation. You really deserve it. SST sounds like it's gonna be a great program; even if you can't rip spc's from other games and we all look forward to it.

Well the idea is that isn't possible with SMW's music engine.

Is anyone still working on that MP3 streaming thing? If we could have sound effects, that'd be damn cool.
