When I try to play a rom on my Windows ME computer, I've noticed that there was no sound coming out of the speakers. I've checked to make sure the wires where all connected in the right place and the mute all on the volume control was off but still no sound. What is going on?

I always use the ZSNES as usual and I haven't played any MP3 music recently.

Well try it. Put an MP3 on and see if that works. If so, open the emulator and see if it stops. Though given that you're running ME you should probably just reinstall. Even if it's not a major problem, you'll need to soon anyway. |

*ahem* First step: Start -> Control Panel -> Sounds & Multimedia (ME probably has it named differently.) Click on the "Audio" tab, check to see what is set to do the output. (You'll have a choice between Microsoft Sound Mapper and your sound card, if it applies.) Second step: The speaker icon in the taskbar... Make sure that the master volume (Play Control) isn't muted or turned all the way down. Next check "Wave" and check for the same things. If sound still does not work. Third step: Right click on My Computer -> Properties. Find a "Hardware" tab and click on "Device Manager." Scroll down to your sound drivers, and click on "Properties." Under "driver," check to see if it says "device is working properly." If it doesn't, click on "Update driver" and update the driver. Reboot. If all else fails, then that's bad... I don't know what else to suggest. --Edit-- Last resort, check the volume of the speakers *shot* (edited by Lenophis on 08-01-05 02:34 AM) |
