I rearranged my room a bit a while ago, and found that the best placement of the TV was in the corner, and one of the stereo speakers goes right on top of that. However I noticed today that the TV really doesn't like having that speaker there. Where it should be showing a solid blue image, there's a big green blotch whenever I put the speaker on it. I don't use that TV much, though, so I'm wondering. If I leave the speaker sitting on the TV when it's not turned on, will it cause any damage?

there probably won't be much damage because what is probably influencing how the electron beam is striking the beam is the magnetic field created by the speaker. if your speaker is fairly large, i guess that is what could cause the picture to change color.

so, if you move the speaker up while the TV is on, the green spot goes away?

Yep, big speaker, small TV. It looks fine when they're apart.
