Now that you have the board running, go to register.php and make your account. Since you are the first account, the board is smart and automatically makes you the admin. (So don't have someone make it for you, bad idea) Once that is done, you need to go into PMA (if you do not have it, you need it. Get it here) and set up some forum categories. You need at least one of them for any forums to show up. Simply use PMA's INSERT button to make it, and set it to id 1 (or leave the field blank).
Once you have a category or two to place forums in, make the forums (go to that table) and make sure to set them to an existing category number. Here's what some of the forum lines mean:
title: name of the forum
description: the text that will accompany the forum name
catid: the number of what category it belongs in. (ALWAYS SET THIS!!)
minpower: minimum powerlevel to view/see this forum
minpowerthread: minimum powerlevel to post threads. (ideal for news/annoucements forums)
minpowerreply: minimum powerlevel to post replies. (useful for trash forums)
forder: for ordering the forums outside of straight ID ordering.
Now that you have forums going, people can start posting and joining your board.

....Acmlmboard doesn't have anything to let you add board, you don't need to be even in contact with PHP code to add forums. Just go in PMA (PhpMyAdmin) and do what has already been said.

Edit: Guess Xeo said it first.

On a side note: We cannot explain it to be easier than that.

And funny thing is that it takes about 1 second to do it throught PMA.

At Xeo's, I've been forced to do all edits throught PMA, and it's not that hard

But yeah, this is not unwelcomed Just make sure you don't create a security hole (since it's you, I'm not worrying.... but we never know)

Back in the days of 1.8a we had no-managing files, all things were done with PMA. And from then and till now, I'm completely fine with using PMA, but yeah, apparently it's complicated for some people.

The abinstall.php link / quote that a ton of us posted in this thread already, pretty much is step by step. Like DarkSlaya said ... you can't really get anymore specific that than.
