Had any luck with them? I found this one called Power Joy. It plays fine with the built-in games, but it's cartridge didn't do anything (labeled PJ-008). Cart probably went bad. In both my cases of GBP/GCN falling to the floor with Zelda Oracle of Ages inside and having put a SNES game into an N64 via Gameshark as an experiment, the game quit but not any hardware. Believe me, smashed in half GBC carts aren't pretty. Still, this famicom thingy is rather neat. The embedded software includes a graphics/sound hack of Duck Hunt. No gameplay was affected. Another title is like Tengen Tetris, this one had minor gameplay changes. Only in that the pieces were shaped differently. Can't go wrong with a $9.99 famiclone. I'm going to buy a Family Converter to see if other carts work in there.

BTW, is there a complete list of NES games which may have the cartridge adaptor inside? I couldn't find it in Baseball or 10 Yard Fight. Also, where can I get the screwdriver needed to open newer ones? They changed from 5 straight-slot screws to 3 Game Boy screws (what are they called?) and I'm not sure what to do.

What can I say? Duck Hunt is priceless, even if you're shooting helicopters.

I picked up this odd Famicom cart with adaptor a while ago. It has cropped artwork of various games, a picture of Pacman, and the number 255 at the top, that's about it. It's supposed to have 255 games, and it does have a surprisingly decent number, probably at least 150. (And then tons of simple hacks, like SMB1 where you always have fireballs. )

Ah, yes, Famiclones. I have a Super Mega Joy II and a decent amount of carts, all which work (however, Gegege no Kitarou produces nothing but garbage, and Ninja Ryuukenden (Ninja Gaiden) freezes a lot). Some of them require a few attempts at putting them in and taking hem out, moving them around a bit while attached to the Famiclone, and so on. Final Fantasy I & II is a game that refuses to get past the title screen 9 out of 10 times, but it works wonders when it does. Well, apart from the fact that the cart is huge, and the famiclone will always glitch if you touch the cart when playing. Meh. I want a Pocketfami.

I know a site where you can see (but not buy) plenty of Famiclones.
I've tried to find one (to buy), but I haven't had much luck.
Anyway, here's the site:
It's a place where the NES never gets old.

Aren't Famiclones just a bunch of ROMs crammed into a controler thing? I thought Nintendo was upset about not getting a cut of the money from these crazy Famiclone marketers.

I have a copy of Gyromite that contains the adaptor. Pretty much any early (as in manufactured) first party title has the cartridge adaptor.
