My gamepad is all mest up now. When I play a game like snes it keeps going to the right. I try messing with it and it still does it. So now I have to play with the keyboard now. I really don't know what to do with it. There might be dust under it, but that might not be the problem. Does not matter anymore. Did anybody have the same problem?

Hm... You mean to say in ZSnes it keeps randomly pulling to the right? I have this problem with my Saitek P880, with or without their software/drivers. It works fine in other programs, though, but nobody else has ever mentioned having this problem.

If it's an older and/or a cheaper one, it mostly is worn out. If you can calibrate it and it works fine in Windows' game controller entry inside the Control Panel but a few moments later not more, it is the mechanics.

I have a Logitech Dual Action USB. It might be the best analogue pad for N64 emulation ... IF there were not that very low product life of it
I used it maybe three months, gone through Super Mario 64, F-Zero X, Paper Mario and far in Zelda - Ocarina of Time, then it doesn't work. Plug it out, connect it again - stick works for maybe five minutes, then only the left direction works again.

I popped it open and saw the petitiometers (warranty is gone, so know what you do), I used a screwdriver and pushed these two ones and applied some WD-40 on it - it worked several days without any problems before the next usage

i have a PSX-to-USB adapter. Some time back, I discovered i couldn't "jam" the controller plug to the adapter all the way, I had to pull it out just a smidge just to prevent it from entering down-right...

I'd say it's defective too, but I played games in PJ64 and FCEUXD with it for hours and didn't see a problem. It's only in ZSnes.

then it is probably how ZSNES handles input from the gamepad; after all if it is the gamepad's fault, it should break in all the other games...

Exactly! But the ZSnes guys insist their code is perfect.

probably because it works for 99.9% of people like me
anyways you probably have to make a fix for yourself...might be some good practice for coding for hardware

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA.

I have had nothing but problems with ZSNES's joystick support. The DOS version (back when I still used it) would just freeze when I tried to configure the gamepad buttons, and the Windows version gets my two USB pads confused, and sometimes accepts only one button (but only in the configuration screen--I can go into the config file and set the buttons manually, and it works fine).

Hey surlent, I have the same one a logitech dual action. I pulled the controller out of the computer and put it back in and it still did the same thing. The analog is shot too. That doesn't work either. So I went back to keyboard trying to get the hang of it.

Have you tried going into the joystick/gamepad calibrator in windows and recalibrating the thing?
