Sion- You aint seen nothin yet....HASTAGA!!!!!

Sion vanished. This wasnt teleportation however, Sion doubled his already amazing speed. Moving faster than the speed of light he was invisible to the naked eye, however everthing good has a down side. This super-speed would not last long...

Apearing behind Kalar Sion sliced with both swords....he didnt use the blades however. Using the blunt side of each sword he laucnhed his oponent into the air, and in a split second apeared infront of his rising body for the follow up. Another blunt slash sending his oponent crashing down to the battlefield in a temendous crash.

Sion-*My body burns...that speed is maybe a little more than I can handle*

Leaving his oponent a chance to rise from the debree Sion de-casts Hastaga. The strange clock apears once move above his head and shatters. Although twice as slow as he was a moment ago Sion is still much faster than his original form...and with 8 minutes of Drive Fusion left he is in no position to be underestimated.

Kalar's eyes flashed red as he picked up a new spell. THAT one would come in handy later on... He cackled madly as he lay in the grass, his bruised body creating a small imprint on where he had been so heavily slammed by Sion's combination attack. His scythe lay beside him, and a plan lay deeply embedded in his mind. Slowly, ever so slowly, he got to his feet and wiped a trickle of blood from his mouth. Using the scythe for support, he glared at Sion and smiled an eerie smile.

Kalar: "Haha, Sion... I DID play Kingdom Hearts... One with a pure heart still has a weakness."

Drive Fusion. The exact mechanics of it were still slightly unknown to Kalar, but enough observation of Sion's technique as he fought with this "Goofy" soul within his own led Kalar to believe it was a biological AND spiritual combination of two hearts that beat as one. But there wasn't really anything Kalar had that could beat as one with him. In fact, there really was only one thing Kalar could do to show Sion up at this point. What was the opposite of two hearts beating as one? No hearts beating as none, of course...

The shadows that Grey had endowed Kalar with suddenly swirled around Kalar, a deep, inky blackness that whirled and twisted and contoured as it rose up his body. Soon Kalar was nothing more than a black mass of nonlight (he was really dragging this out: Sion's transformation was going to severely hinder him if he didn't), and he walked forward, raising his hand in the air. The shadows seeped out of his hand and formed a new creature in the air... Black, winged, with a large sword, the shadows formed muscle, color, contour... An Invisible, with a black heart adorned with a red border and cross-like bottom glaring upon its chest.

"Fear. Those without hearts. The Heartless."

(thinking): 'I think I finally understand where Grey was going with this...'

"And now... I believe you called it Phase Two?"

Drive Fusion! The Invisible disappeared into a circle of shadowy flames, which surrounded Kalar and dove deeply into his heart, consuming him and giving him to the darkness that he had already begun to accept. Normally, this would turn him into a Heartless himself, but Kalar's heart was already dark enough that it wasn't necessary to take his heart and consume it... Instead, Dark Heart and Heartless combined to produce a rather... interesting... effect. When the shadows faded into visible light, the Invisible was gone, and Kalar remained. His suit's tatters and tears were repaired in full. His hair, once a light brown color, had blackened as though dyed a gothy charcoal color. Dark circles appeared beneath his eyes, as though he hadn't slept in weeks. In one hand lay his scythe, all the more reaperly with his newer, eviler form. In the other hand was gripped the Invisible's notched blue blade, an aura of shadowy energy radiating from it. Kalar could feel himself being pulled to pieces inside by the dark powers, but he kept it together. HE was in control, not the Heartless.

Ten minutes. That was all he had. That was all he would need.

"Hehe... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Kalar laughed maniacally as he dashed at Sion, leaping into the air and bringing both of his weapons down with a slamming overhead strike that would bury both weapons into either Sion or the ground, scattering a pool of darkness, almost fluid in its expansion, in a radius around the base of his strike...

Sion- I thought I felt a familiar darkness in him...this is gonna get interesting.

Sion matched Kalars charge with his own. This charge would be completly different from his previous charges however, using the skills he learned while in Neverland Sion took to the sky. Holding his two blades behind him Sion dove down at mach speeds.

*The Arena speakers began to play epic classical music*

It almost seemed as if the arena was divided in half...one side light and the other dark. Sion was diving, Kalar was rushing but their destinations were the same. The exact center of the arena was where the warriors would collide...two incredibly powerful yet complety opposite forces.

The darkness exploded around Kalar as he enjoyed a refreshing burst of raw power that he had never felt before...

Kalar (thinking): 'What POWER! Is this what I've had inside me this entire time? Or can Grey really endow people with that degree of ability...?'

He turned to Sion, and rushed at him, arms stretched out to the side as sword and scythe swept forward, his eyes flashing blood red, then deep, Heartless yellow. He could feel his and Sion's weapons clash, spar, parry, part and sweep past each other as the two of them crossed one another's paths, but he barely noticed any semblance of pain that Sion may have inflicted upon him. Nothing, no scar, no cut or wound registered with his mind, as he obsessed only over the sensation, the moment, the here and the now, the all-consuming, all-powerful darkness that lay within him...

--------------------------------

Of course, this wouldn't be a tournament battle without any commentary...

Janus: "The Heartless? Where the hell did that come from?"

Grey: "It's ok, Janus... Kalar's just tapping into his latent Trinity powers..."

The two of them stood in the viewbox booth where Evan and Shino had conflicted two rounds previously, watching intensely as Kalar bonded with a being of pure emptiness and fought Sion to no bounds far down below. Janus looked increasingly concerned...

Janus: "Trinity powers?"

Grey: "Yes. Wisdom often holds many dark secrets that can only be revealed in extreme circumstances. Just as you are able to summon up the power of the Grey Dawn in times when great courage is needed, so too must Kalar dive into the depths of his mind to uncover a solution to a problem. What he finds is not always pretty..."

Janus: "But... The Heartless?"

Grey: "Can you deny that Kalar has a dark heart?"

Janus: "No... No, I can't..."

Grey: "And therein lies the interest. Kalar's heart, while dark, is also very strong. However, he lacks control over this strength, and in order to bring it out, he needs to immerse himself in the darkness that resides within him and learn to control it before it consumes him. Then, and only then, will he be even close to your level of power."

Janus: "Isn't this excessively dangerous? You're forcing him to learn to control his powers through a trial-by-fire against someone who technically embodies the power of light. He'll be crushed! Don't you remember what happened to Ansem? All of those legends... So many people consumed by the darkness, and you're just throwing another steak to the beast."

Grey: "Janus, you doubt the strength of Kalar's heart..."

Janus: "I don't want to see him consumed..."

------------------------------------

Darkness! Kalar could feel it all around him, swirling and pulsating with the frightening strength he had only dreamed of in the past. In sheer celebration of the fearsomeness that had enveloped him, he flourished his weapons and raged toward Sion with a series of elaborate strikes, watching in amazement as they moved ever faster, swung ever harder... It was almost as though....

As though...

He weren't directing his own movements at all...

Sion-*That fighting style its different from before...but so familiar....*

The middle of an onslaught isnt the best place to ponder and Sion was quickly reminded why. Kalars began attacking irradically, Sion could barely defend himself and due to the speed and ferociousness of the attacks there was no room to make a counter attack of his own.

Sion could only do one thing and that was make some room. Sion lept backwards with all his speed but somehow Kalar performed a wipe sweeping slash at just the right moment and slashed Sion directly under his left eye as he evaded.

Sion landed just a few feet away from Kalar. Close enough to rush in once more, but far enough to be safe from any crazy slashes. Sion spun his keyblades around in his hands and positioned himself in a new offensive stance. Leaning forward...ready to rush in at any second. Holding Oathkeeper with his left hand he crossed it over to his right side, while the Oblivion in his right hand sat atop his right shoulder.

As the blood began to flow from under Sions left eye he sprang into action. In a burst of speed Sion was headed into battle once more. Upon coming within ten feet of Kalar Sion began spinning like a top using the Oathkeeper to deflect every slash Kalar delivered, as soon as Sion spotted an opening he slammed Oblivion down on Kalar with all his might.

Kalar was almost animalistic at this point. Oblivion sliced down at him and struck true, throwing him backwards and sending him sprawling, his body leaving a trail of shadows and the echoing screams of the damned as the even the brightest of sunlight was turned away by his ever more evil form. Kalar could feel himself still bleeding, yet he bled not blood, but the same inky blackness that exploded from his blade as he made his initial strike...

Kalar (thinking): 'Nothing else matters right now. Nothing's worth doing but defeating him! I will destroy him with the powers that lay within me!'

And still, within his heart, Kalar dove deeper into the shadows, further down into the very depths of his soul to where the purest darkness existed... His own heart, mixed, mingled, and mangled even further, warped by the Invisible's power and the influence of the Heartless over his mind. Blinded he was, by his lust for power and his need to beat Sion, to show his strength to Grey...

As Kalar's mind was further and further thrown to the deep, his physical form so too did change. Black, leathery, oily wings sprouted out from his back, and his posture hunched over, so that soon he was neither human nor Heartless, just a twisted, fanged monstrosity. His suit grew into a long, flowing drapery, and his eyes glowed now a permanent golden color, illuminated behind his ever-lengthening black hair. Teeth became fangs, flecks of acidic spit dripping from them and burning the tip of a slathering tongue. Scythe and sword became one, as the near-transparent blade of Kalar's once-human weapon was overtaken by the edge of the Invisible's sword, making a bastardized weapon that could cleave the very air.

------------------------------------------

Janus: "..........Whoa."

Grey: "Indeed."

Janus' eyes widened as Kalar's transformation passed before his very eyes. Was he even in control anymore? Was this really the power of the Trinity?

....... Did it exist within him, as well?

Janus: "Grey, you can't seriously be allowing this! It's madness! He's going to be completely overtaken by that darkness! Once you give yourself to the Heartless, you're completely lost, for good! The amount of power Kalar gains won't mean a thing if he isn't even Kalar anymore!"

Grey's look turned stern, and he glared at Janus with an intense fire in his eyes...

Grey: "Stop! Don't you think I know that? I have faith in Kalar. And well I should, too."

Janus: "I.... Grrrr......"

------------------------------------------

Almost, Kalar kept thinking. Almost there. It didn't matter. Nothing else mattered, but to throw himself to the Heartless and become one with them. TO give himself to them, to achieve their oneness, their single-minded fury and strength. To join them, to strengthen them even further with his presence. He would. He would. He would.

.....But did he want to, he thought? Did he really?

The voice was small, insignificant next to the majesty, the brilliance of the Heartless, but did he?

'DID HE???' Kalar's mind screamed as his hellborne body shook with a mighty roar, opening its mouth and spraying a blast of shadows at Sion...

Sion sliced through the shadows with ease. Of course the shadows werent what he needed to be worrying about. Kalar was now completly over taken by pure darkness...the Heartless were feeding off the darkness that originally lay in his heart growing more powerful than Sion had ever seen a Heartless become. If things werent bad enough his Drive Fusion was almost out of time as well. There was only one thing that could defeat a Heartless and that was light...light from the heart...more hearts, more light, more strength.

Sion lept extremly high into the air and yelled out...

Sion- DONALD!!!!!!

Much like his first Summon a massive ephemeral beast appeared behind Sion. This time its aura was blue and it embodied a duck. This beast did not attack or defend like the first. As soon as it appeared it disappeared....into Sions heart. With a massive flash of light Sion was changed once more.

Floating above the battle field there seemed to be an Angel, it was Sion. His Suit now a combonation of Silver and White, with Angelic wings sprouting from his back. Oblivion was gone as well...becoming a being is pure light Sion lost the ability to wield its dark powers. Howvever, he wouldnt be a Duel Wielding warrior without a back up. In its place Sion held the Ultima Keyblade. A blade of Supreme Light.

Sions body was now powered by the lights of three hearts. Donald and Goofy were not only basic Summons either...they were the spirits of Sions best friends who lost thier bodies saving The Worlds from the Heartless. United in battle once more, this was a true Trinity.

Janus: "You lose, Grey... He lost control."

Grey: "....Hm. The Trinity isn't ready yet, then. It'll still be some time before he and Garro are on your level of power..."

Janus: "Stop playing games with the hearts of my friends."

Grey: "You call this a game? Kalar will never learn if he is never shown."

Janus: "Must he be shown, or could he have figured it out on his own?"

With that statement, Janus sliced open a hole in space, and stepped through it. He couldn't stand to see any more...

-----------------------------------------

The light that shined from Sion's heart blinded Kalar, now lost almost completely to the darkness. Deep within him, the little voice still whispered, "Why? Why?"

It echoed... The Heartless screamed back, "WHY NOT? WHY NOT?"

And yet still, under the shining light, Kalar writhed in pain and self-conflict.

He rose into the air, black wings fluttering and flapping with undrawn power as he swept towards Sion. With his scythe drawn behind him and his mouth wide open, Kalar twirled in the air, shadows enveloping him for a wide, sweeping strike at the floating being of light that lay before him. As the scythe swung, waves of darkness and void energy blew out from the strike, dragging all that they washed over closer to the ground and out of the sky, including the unrealizing Kalar. His wounds bled freely now, each dark leak seeping back into him and, while weakening him, furthering the Heartless resolve within him to continue to fight.

Sion "danced" through the sky avoding each wave of darkness, he then began to circle overhead. Making quick circled above the arena but never taking his eyes off Kalar.

Sion/Donald/Goofy- NOW!!!!

Breaking from his flight pattern in an insant Sion charged Kalar directly. Blades held behind him until he approaced. Once close enough Sion began slashing, dodging, and parrying as Kalar crazily attacked. The oposing forces shook the entire arena. Although their attacks were fast and powerful neither could land a single blow.

After what seemed like an eternity of physical cobat Sion yelled out...

Sion- ARCS ARCANUM!!!!

If Kalar could not stop him Sion would go into a flurry of attacks, faster and stronger than before. After the main attacks were finished he would yell out "SLICE" and begin spinning his blades into Kalar, after slicing his oponent with both blades for a total of fourteen hits Sion would the yell out "FINISHER".Ending the awesome combo with a huge ending slash. Rising above his oponent and slamming both blades into his shoulders.

The demonic Kalar brought his weapon to bear with Sion's blades, blocking up, down, up, to the side, parrying the first few hits, until Sion called out...

Sion: "SLICE!"

Too fast! Ultima flashed through Kalar, burning his spirit with its light, and following itself up with Oathkeeper's white edge, which sliced through with only marginally less intensity. As Sion screamed "FINISHER!", Kalar's body was torn to pieces by the explosive strikes of both blades, leaving him a mess of black blood that collapsed into the tall grass, staining the ground with ashen liquid.

Kalar: "The.... Heartless...."

The shining rays of light that Kalar's soul had endured had revealed deep within him a small, strained, beating heart, one of not only darkness, but of light as well. Sion's attacks, while painful to Kalar to no end, strengthened that light...

"They... won't..."

The black liquid seeped back into Kalar's body... Soon, his Keyblade-inflicted wounds closed up, and rays of black light emitted from where they once were. As he lay on the ground, unsure of whether or not he had life or death about him, Kalar could feel the rays coming away from him. The Drive Fusion had been disrupted. The Invisible's spirit was only now trying desperately to make its escape.

But Kalar didn't want that to happen. He slowly got to his feet. He had to keep the Heartless' power inside of him until he could control it. Only by concentrating, only through sheer force of will could he keep it within him. No longer was he bleeding black blood, now red blood, though in considerably less quantities than the blackness, bled from his wounds. So his extraordinary powers had failed. No matter. He was not yet weakened. Simply normal again, he thought.

His hair had returned to its previous dirty-blonde state. His face was gaunt again, the dark circles gone from his eyes. No fangs. No wings. The tatters in his suit returned. He stood up tall. He reached into his suit jacket and pulled out a handkerchief, trying calmly to sop up all the blood that now flowed from his cuts. His scythe had returned to normal, and he back to the Kalar that was in control, that was both dark and light, instead of one bastardized extreme.

When he had regained his composure, he still said nothing. He only looked at Sion, knowing full well that he wasn't ready to use that kind of power. It did not matter to him, someday he would be stronger. All that there was left to do now was give the audience a good battle, and do his best to win. Maybe then Grey would still see something in him.

Kalar braced himself. He narrowed his eyes, and held out his scythe, which quickly split in twain and shortened into a pair of small handles, both of which grew chains made of the same material as Kalar's scythe blade. The ends of each chain grew into a ball that had many small spikes on it, a pair of flails!

He spun the flails at deadly speeds, and launched himself at Sion, leaping up into the air at the Angelic Fused warrior and swinging both weapons at him in a dual-sided horizontal blow!

Sion interrupted the Flails with his Blades, although the attack was blocked his Blades were now tangled by the chains of the Flails.

Sion-*This seems familiar...*

Holding onto his blades tightly Sion flipped up and launched a powerful Ax kick to the top of Kalars head.

Kalar could only pull the flail in his left hand away from the Keyblade before Sion's axe kick thundered down at him. He took the hit hard in the head, but didn't even miss a beat as gears shifted and cranked in his right arm. The steel monstrosity fired a burst of steam out from the wrist, and his hydraulic fist stayed in place as the force of the piston-like arm fired Kalar backward from Sion. He wrenched his other flail away from Sion's Keyblade and retracted the physics-defying hand (complete with weapon) with action-figure-like precision.

Still saying absolutely nothing, Kalar slapped the handles of the two weapons together at their hilts, and a flash of light bound them to each other as the chains of the flails shortened and the length of the combined hilts grew. Kalar had forged himself some kind of obtuse quarterstaff of spikeball death.

He glared at Sion, took a deep breath, and rushed forward, cartwheeling once with the staff in both hands. The acrobatics were disrupted by the firing of Kalar's metal fist once again as it hit the ground, this time propelling him into an overexaggerated front handspring. The staff, still in his metal hand, flew upward as he retracted the fist in midair and swung one of the swirling metal balls downward at Sion as he fell, following the attack up with a CO2-powered extend-o-kick to Sion's midsection (whereever he may have moved) as soon as Kalar was able to aim his foot.

Sion smacked the metal balls away in a baseball like swing with both blades. He was unable to dodge the mechanically powered kick however. The kick struck Sion directly in his chest and sent him spiraling down to the arena floor. His body landed with a loud crash and...slowly rising back to his feet it was clear that he took a lot of damage from the fall. His left wing was broken and lay limp on his back.

Sion-*This things just gonna slow me down...and Ive seen the One Winged fighting style used before...*

In a startling move Sion pulled the broken Wing right out of his back and tossed it to the side. The wound did not bleed at all, it just quickly closed up with a benevolent light. Sions right wing began flapping quickly, instead of flying however he just hovered a few feet over the ground. Sion body then began emitting a strange electric like current...

In a burst of speed Sion charged back at Kalar using his slight aerial advantage to perform acrobatic movements all around his oponent as he began attacking with both blades, slashing both rapidly and precise.

Kalar: "An Omnislash, eh wot? Brilliant!"

Kalar's eyes flashed red, integrating another new move into his mind, and rolled out of the way of one slash, pistoning himself into the air and out of the way of another, and deftly changing his weapon back into a scythe in midair only to catch one of Sion's blades in the crook of the scythe for yet another parry. The second blade, however, overtook him and sent him sprawling to the ground, which he landed hard on, exploding into a mass of inky black shadows. He reformed on his hands and knees, sweating and gasping for air... It seemed the reaction was not so much random as it was to brace for impact. He'd have to keep that one in mind.

He squinted for a split second, before launching himself into the air yet again, this time swinging his scythe far too prematurely to be any threat to Sion... Until Sion saw the scythe blade flying toward him, attached by near-immaterial chain to the Multiweapon's haft. He tornadoed around on the return blow, causing the chain to start whirling around him. The end result was Kalar spinning around in the air, a rush of chains enveloping him, with the scythe blade on the end, creating an ever-extending spiral of chains around him as the blade flew toward Sion.

Sion- Sometimes the fanciest moves can be beaten so simply...

Sions blades vanished into thin air. Sion then floated readily as the Sythe Blade flew towards him. Sion did not move an inch until the Blade was just close slice him. He suddenly stepped slightly to the side allowing the blade to go flying past him..not very far however as he immediatly grabbed it by its chain.

With the sythe now in his hands and Kalar enveloped in Chains Sion flew straight up. Intending to use Kalars own weapon against him Sion would reach the peak of his accent and using the chains spin Kalar violently ultimatly slamming him back into the Arena.

Kalar: "You fell for it....!"

As Kalar was sent spinning, he snapped his fingers, sending the chain spreading outward as the very links themselves expanded in the spin. The chain to the blade Sion was holding snapped, and the blade itself disappeared, having been detached from its original hold. The spiral of chains spread outwards, turning into a linked, barbed spike whip that Kalar swung at Sion the moment he hit the ground. The length of the chain was long enough so that he was able to reach Sion, and attempted to wrap him in spikes, trying what was essentially the same move that Sion attempted on him before.

Sion became wrapped in a chain of spikes. The barbed wire like whip tightened around his body causing him enormous pain. For the first time in this long battle Sion felt helpless...the pain was so great that he could barely think of a counterattack. Sion yelled out as the spikes began to dig into his skin...

Sion-No pain no gain!

Sion used every bit of his might and spread his arms and legs apart. This caused the chains to tighten even more, increasing his pain ten fold. Sion kept pushing however and in an amazing display of determination broke free of his entanglement.

With the Whip in pieces on the ground Sion slowly fell to his kneesm his entire body covered in blood. His eyes seemed faded out, and lifeless. He then collapsed...was this the end?

As the whip chains disappeared into nothingness, having been brought out of contact with the Multiweapon, Kalar grinned and pumped his fist into the air, doing a short hop.

Kalar: "Woohoo! I did it! I won! Time to do the Victory Jig!"

Kalar reverted his multiweapon into a scythe, placed it on his back, and began to dance to nothing (he didn't have a theme song yet, so he assumed that there was no victory music for that reason). First, he stuck his arms in the air and waved them from side to side while shaking his rear end and clenching his hands into fists, bringing them slightly together. He went into a few pelvic thrusts, then decided to bring it around town a bit with not one, but two hands. A quick disco thrust in the air later, and he was back to the 1980s, moonwalking for a few steps and going into a quick split that popped back up to a standing position, which he spun around gracefully in, ending in a pose that saw his right arm raised straight in the air above his head, steel piston-arm firing upward to increase effect, and his left arm pressed down by his side. Both index fingers were indeed outstretched.

But, of course, as is the case with many battles, there was actually a reason why there was no victory music playing...

A shining blue astral being sprouted from Sions collapsed body. It was Donald. A red being follwed. Sions one wing disappeared and his cloths changed back to their original design...however he remained motionless.

The spirits slowly picked up Sions unconcious body. Floating a few feet above the ground Donald and Goofy raised both their hands in the air and closed their eyes.

Donald/Goofy- JOINT CURAGA!!!!

A Massive glowing plant appeared over Sions body and bloomed spreading an enormous amount of blue and red sparkles all over the fallen warrior...and with that the beings vanished back into nothingness from which they originally appeared.

Sion twitched slightly...then rose to his feet slowly. He was still soaked in his own blood...however his wounds had closed. Feeling rather drowzy Sion struggled to keep his balance for a few seconds...only after spawning his trusted Oathkeeper and Oblivion did he feel that his balance was regained.

Sion looked up into the sky.....

Sion- *I owe you one guys*

He then looked over at Kalar. His defences seemed to be down and Sion didnt hesistate. Sion slammed the ground with Oblivion causing a tiny shockwave to travel through the ground in Kalars direction. The shockwave caused the the ground under Kalars feet to give in, trapping Kalars feet in the Earth.

Sion- THUNDAGA!!!!

Sion then raised Oathkeeper into air unleashing a serious of Thunderbolts from the sky aimed directly at Kalars trapped body.

Kalar: "Eh?"

He raised his nonmetal foot out of the ground, grabbed his scythe with his metal right hand, touched it to his metal foot, and raised an eyebrow as the lighting bolt coursed through his metal parts, causing a few circuitry errors that were fixed almost immediately. Why the fast fix? Well...

Originally posted by Oxnard Montalvo in "Ragnarok: Dark or Light"
The second he saw the lightning, Kalar converted his weapon back into the metal scythe form, but the blade did not slide out of the tip as usual. Instead, it remained a steel staff, which Kalar slammed hard enough into the ground that it remained stuck there, touching his metal arm and leg to it with two points of contact each. The lightning surged around him and struck directly at the pole, which was considerably taller than Kalar at this point. It surged through both his arm and his leg and he winced in pain as the nerve receptors on the connection points with his hip and shoulder went wild with electricity. Still, it was better than being shocked to death.

There ya go. He pulled his foot out of the ground, grinned, backed his scythe, and wiggled his metal arm a few times, shaking out the last of the excess energy. He did not, however, continue his attack.

Kalar: "Aw... And I was dancing, too..."
