I was actually thinking about that. It's a tough one really. On one hand, they're using terrorist tactics. On the other hand, they still mix in non-terrorist tactics and they were part of a military at one point. Regardless of the fact that that specific military was broken up, they still come from it, they're still soldiers.

So I don't know about that one really, it's hard to say. I wouldn't jump right out and call them terrorists though.

They've certainly been portrayed like that in the media, though. ;(

A little definitive. ;/

Again, talking about terrorists. Not Iraqi TROOPS.
We haven't been fighting Iraqi SOLDIERS for over a year now...

See post above yours. I don't really know what to define them.

windwaker: Well there you go, the media is fucking stupid.

I'll admit, I am kind of lost now. It's a huge mix of everything that's happened in the past few years and I'm quite confuzzled at this point.

Well, if you're so confuzzled about it, then why can't we all just stop arguing about something we don't understand and instead of bitch about things we can't control as individuals work together to find a better understanding and then work to find a solution to the problem we find?

I would much rather suggest the sheer posting of information over arguing about information that's been muddled. It's easier to develop a unified idea that way. Solidarity, people!

Get rid of poverty and show international compassion!

Al-Qaeda's house of cards will fall down if we let individual nations follow their hearts and then we as a global community do what we can to stop violence and end the ills of the world.

Alright, so basically then, because they were formerly soldiers, but now are still fighting what they feel is a noble cause (trying to get rid of the people who invaded their country), you're unsure of what to call them.

But what are they resorting to now? The smae thing that the Al-Queda soldiers are doing and have been doing, the same thing the Palestinians have been doing for ages.

They're all soldiers fighting for a noble cause, at least in their opinion. And honestly, I would do the same in their shoes.

Nope.

They're exploiting those that have been put underneath the international shitter.

FYI, most of their operatives that they use in the Middle East for political ventures are African. They give these people an enemy to fight. They give them food and a home. They promise the family money if they die a martyrs death.

Well, I'm pretty much all argued out for the night.

In closing, a few things.

My sympathies go out to the British for this tragedy and I'm glad that it didn't turn out much worse because it easily could have. From what I saw, you guys have a very nice emergency response system in place. Much better than a "zomg orange to red plz" system.

Also, my apologies to anyone I may have offened with my comments, especially with the "terrorist sympathizers" one. I say things I don't mean in the heat of discussions, and that was one of them.

Lastly, I just hope that one day we wont have to worry about shit like this. Whatever it takes to make that happen is a-ok with me, just so long that it does and as quickly as fucking possible.

Jews had been purchasing the land from the Syrian owners in the 1830s. The Jews of the First Aliyah moved into a fairly unpopulated section of land that had been deemed worthless by the Arabs. They worked the land and made it what it is today. And as for the peace process, the Israelis offered a Palestinian state with a capital in Jerusalem (which is a massive concession for the Israelis to have made) at Camp David in 2000, and Arafat, not Barak, walked away from the bargaining table that day.

To Leg: Hear, hear! The Brits deserve our support right now, regardless of anything there are people dying now, so we need to make sure they know we're there for them, no matter where you live.

I hope we stop arguing about this, myself. Like I said, the issue seems so muddled that there's no way we'll achieve a clear-cut solution just by talking at each other about what we think is right.

Well said. The only problem is getting this global community to work together. And getting ris of poverty can't be easy. This would take time, but would certainly be worth it.

I agree. And I personally think the solution is to GET OUT OF IRAQ, and end our dependance on mideast oil (There are MANY better energy sources, but unfortunatley, Bush's (or any other politicians') buddies don't get rich off of them). And STAY OUT of their business, let them sort it out on their own at their own pace (and ONLY interfere if nuclear war looms).

I agree about the Brits needing support, and I don't see why it seems so hard for many people in this thread to grant them that. =\

Simple fact is that I feel terrible about this whole incident and that the nation needs our moral support and our compassion.
