Anyone seen anything on this? Just turned on the telly and BBC are reporting that there has been 6 explosions around the city's transport network. 5 on the tube network and one on a red double-decker bus. The first explosion was believed to be a "power surge", and then more went off. There are at least two deaths and over 90 people seriously injured and hundreds of "walking wounded" Its also nice not to see the usual knee jerk reaction of Al Qaeda finger pointing straight after. However, the bbc has just reported that they have information that points to them. Well, I suppose we knew something was coming over here, and knocking out the transport network is a hallmark of the Al Qaeda. I hope no-one here is there.... |

IT HAS BEGUN. Terrorist attacks on England were inevitable. 2 dead already, I hope no one else was caught in the blast, and I wish someone would do something about that goddamn terrorist group

Seventh incident reported. I've just seen pictures of the bus that was blown up, looks like someone ripped it open like one would a paper bag. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b237/drscab/bus.jpg *disclaimer* Image may be disturbing to some, so I've linked it. */disclaimer*

Only cowards would do that. I am so mad. What do these terrorists want? It boggles my mind! Al Qaeda relly struck a bone in me this time. The building in the US hurt me, but now they are bombing trains and buses in London! They have to be stopped. I'd kill Al Qaeda, if not, completely ruin their bone structure. This really peeves me. London getting bombed by terrorists. I hate Al Qaeda. (edited by Shyguy on 07-07-05 07:30 AM) |

Blair made a statement a while ago. He looked extremely pissed off. Do you think there are more attacks to come?

Shyguy, this is how Bush manipulated everyone. We can't assume without some hard evidence if it really was them or not, it is logical that it was them, but still, lets think before we act. And... actually its like mid day there... I'm sure they're fine though, the odds of them being injured is incredibly low. (edited by Dracoon on 07-07-05 08:01 AM) |

Yeah it's been all over Belgian and German news (BRT, ARD, ZDF). That's pretty shocking and all. I heard some 90 people were wounded and 2 were dead. Funny thing is, I heard this after reading that the olympics were gonna be helt in London so I figured the French would've done it. EDIT: Ok, sorry, this was in no way meant to be offensive to anyone. (edited by Darth Coby on 07-07-05 08:26 AM) |

Not a surprise an attack would happen sooner or later, and it's kinda stupid of al-Qaida do to this in the long run. :/ The attack dosen't come as a surprise to me since England is a ally of USA. And it's said that Denmark is next, which is also an ally. And well... I don't live far away from Denmark. The intent of the attacks is to scare people. Then, when in the history have terror attacks lead to success for the ones who attacked? (edited by Kitten Yiffer on 07-07-05 08:53 AM) |

Contrary to popular belief, terrorism doesn't NEED a reason for its attacks. All these leaders say they won't give into the terrorist, but the terrorist don't have any demands. They're causing terror and that's it. They have nothing to gain in what they do nor do they have nothing to lose, so why stop? It will ALWAYS go on and the war on terror, as seen here, is failing. Yes, what happened was terrible and I pray that the death toll is minimal, but if only cowards would pull something like this, what are they being shown they're afraid of by doing this? They're certainly not afraid of England and freedom.

Seven people confirmed dead now, and they're expecting it to grow with people dying of severe injuries. It pisses me off, too. Pointless. |

Originally posted by Dracoon They have proof that an Islamic group has taken responsiblity for this event, as seen here. There's about 40 dead right now, and that will only rise as the hours and days go by. Oh, and Here is another article about the Islamic group saying that, " A group calling itself "The Secret Organization of Al Qaeda in Europe" has posted a claim of responsibility for the series of blasts in London, saying they were in retaliation for Britain's involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan." |

Originally posted by Lilmario You want to know what they did about that terrorist group? They've detained hundreds of innocents in Guantanamo. They've broken every damn Geneva accord. Neither side in this damned war are justified. What's worse is I can foresee another wave of anti-brown sweeping over England. Sikh, Hindu or Muslim...Doesn't matter if you're brown you're the problem is the mentality in a lot of people But I like to see how the propoganda machines on both sides are turning out boneheads. Look at Shyguy. What I'd like to see first is killing the roots of Al-Qaeda. The violence in the Middle East has to stop, and poverty has to be curtailed. Those stop terror, not bombing schools. The terrorists are going to continuing doing this as long as they have support. edit:: Anya, the finger is pointing to European Al-Qaeda Organization for Jihad. CBC is reporting that British police refuse to confirm any people claiming responsibility and they refuse to state which organization it may be. (edited by Ziff on 07-07-05 11:31 AM) |

To my knowledge Al Qaeda does not often, if ever, take open responsebility for what they have done. Not saying that it's impossible that this was by 'them', just pointing out. Also Al Qaeda is not one very large terrorist group like many people seem to think, it's very split up and not very organized between the different sub-groups, or whatever you'd call them. This is a very tragic event though, no matter who did it. Luckily under the circumstances so few people died, I can imagine it could have been much worse. |

This is a bloody outrage! I can't believe these people. Al Quaida or not... Whoever is responsible needs to be wiped off the face of the planet. I'm not usually an aggressive or violent person... But, this is sick. Those people didn't do anything wrong. Augh... My prayers and heart goes out to the families... Hopefully Blair will shape up and get some cojones on him now and do something about this. kt |
