Pipe demo 4

I finally had more time to work on the pipes. The corners are pretty much completed, so try them out. I'm getting pretty close to releasing these, so find all the bugs you can... add to the list of about 10 that I still plan to fix.

Sweet. BTW, did you fix the bug that makes the pipes act like nothing if you use custom blocks from Blocktool?

Ok, i do not know if this has been mintioned, but in the level that you designated as a water level, if you go through that left to right, right to left pipe, it sinds mario flying behind the bushes, and then you can not move mario anymore, also if you reset the game after getting stuck behind the bush, it will not let you start the game again until you close the emulator then turn it back on again.

Ok, that is all.

I tested the pipes by making this:

It works fine when entering from the top, but when entering from the bottom, Mario gets stuck between the 2nd and 3rd "levels".

I dont think nintendo ever used a pipe setup like that in super mario bros 3, and if they did not, that is probebly why. Not to be a jerk, just saying.

The pipes should act the same in all configurations, mikejpr. And nintendo has little to do with the creation of these pipes besides inspiration and of course Super Mario World. While I doubt Smallhacker or any other decent hacker would place pipes that way, you still should want to have the pipes work in all situations.

that is for any custom blocks in the game, let's just say you inserted a SMB3 brick, and next time you inserted a frozen block with out reinserting the SMB3 brick, the SMB3 brick wouldn't work.

I did the same thing.
It's OK for me when I'm small Mario, but when I'm cape/fire/super Mario I get stuck from up.

Plus, when on Yoshi the yellow ones just send Mario the opposite direction.

If you're on Yoshi, and try to enter a vertical pipe from below by spin jumping while you are Fire Mario, you shoot a fireball. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but you can kill your Yoshi like this. He won't be back at the beginning, either.

i've replaced the demo with a slightly updated one, please redownload before posting bugs. Ikuzou, I'll look into the situation that you created. Hopefully I can get a fix just by tweaking some numbers. If anyone knows where I can get the patch that makes custom blocks interact with sprites in vertical levels, let me know

While on Yoshi, if you try to go down through a vertical pipe and press at the same time down+A mario will get out of yoshi and start jump on yoshi. You cant control it while hes jumping. Its very funny.

Uhhh... from what I can see it works fine...

Though when yoshi has somethin in his mouth, and you go in a vertical pipe, you can see the end pixels of his nose sticking out of the pipe

if you are on yoshi, you get an item in his mouth, spit it into the side of a horizontal pipe, and grab it with yoshi's tongue and go through it at the same time, the item will flash in two different places as mario goes through the pipe, then stop when he gets out.

I went through the pipe beside this one and came out this one like this, there is an error that makes it so you cannot usually place two corners next to each other like that, and I am stuck bouncing up and down.

in this screen, I went in the pipe to the right on the bottom, I came out of the other one on the side (sticking out a little bit) and I can't move now (yes, I do have the reset blocks on the ends)

You probably need at least 2 tiles between the corners, because otherwise you can touch 2 corners at once.
