Anyone know where I can get them? I'm looing for the quality MP3s, not the relatively crappy midis. At the very least, is there a way to get the music from games? In particular, Kirby 64, DKC2, among others...
Can anyone help me out?

WinAMP plugins I'd bet.

I've never heard of this site though, but by browsing the files ... I think I'm going to like it.

Edit: Gah, no Megaman X4-X6.

I loked them up, and the extensions are algorithms. What program would I need to get the songs out of these?

You don't. If you have the files, those are what are used to keep the files up-to-date.

More than likely what Valc meant was to use the hub WITH DC++, not actually go to the site.

Well, if you're looking for SNES music, try www.snesmusic.org. You'll need a winamp plugin, though.

You can also get the same kind of music for some N64, NES, Genesis, GBA, and GB games at www.zophar.net, though most of those plugins require you to have a faster computer if you don't want them to skip when you do stuff.

And finally, www.emuparadise.org has a bunch of VG music MP3s.

Hope that helps ya out.

I'd also think that if you got the originals (forget the file format), you could use Winamp to make the MP3's. Just use the appropriate input plugin and set the output to Disk Writer. (Haven't tried the MP3 encoder.) Then convert the .wav to an MP3.

Oh, yeah, I've done that with a coupla soundtracks. You can just set the disk writer thing to output MP3s directly. Here's a tip: Turn off the equalizer. I forgot. Three times. Now it's all double-equalized. Damn me.

Getting exact sound rips from games is pretty easy if you have the right equipment. NES, SNES, N64 and Game Boy/GBA, you get the sound rips (NSF/SPC/etc) and play them in Winamp with Diskwriter. (If I can't find a GSF for an old Game Boy game, I generally just hack it to play the music at a point where there's no sound effects and log it to WAV from an emulator. ) Gamecube and DS, connect their sound output directly to your sound card's line in using high quality cables and record with Audacity. On Gamecube, clever manipulation of the lid can usually give you time to pause the game well before the music starts so that you can record it from there. DS I haven't actually tried.

I've seriously been looking forever for a place that has either the OST or remixes of songs from F-Zero GX. I've tried looking on OCRemix and all that, but I've never been able to find it. Hopefully one of these sites has that and more.

EDIT: Bah, haven't been able to find it in any of these places either...yet...

http://www.smashboards.com/fzero/music.php

They have some of the tracks, but not all. I'm not sure if they rotate them or whatever, since I don't really check. But they might. Also, I forgot...

http://www.protoman.com/

He's got all sorts of neat soundtracks, like Timesplitters 2, and...you know, stuff. He rotates them, though, so you can only get the non Megaman games 1 out of 3 days. You can always use the torrent, though.

Actually, right now it all seems down, but, you know. Torrents and all that.

Bah, they don't have all of them. Whatever, I'm cool with what they have, and I'll probably check for more later.

Those are hash files. You use a program (I use QuickSFV) and it checks whetever the appropriate files aren't corrupted or anything.

I don't quite understand... Can you embelish this a bit more? I know nothing on that subject. BTW, I'm now after Sengoku Musou (Samurai Warrors) OST. Can anyone help with that?
...Maybe we should have a game music downloader on the board, im not here, then on Ace's main site It would be totally convieniant if we got a lot of files...

Slight bump for a quick question.

So I've gone to one of those sites and I found a couple of soundtracks that I want to get via torrent. Problem is, I'm one of those paranoid types who believes that at any moment, something like this can get me slapped with one of those f-ing huge lawsuits, and my parents would probably disown me if I did something like that.

My question: What are the odds that I'd get caught getting stuff like this?

Little to none. Remember, the RIAA can't be ass pirates if they don't own it =D
