What are some of the worst videogames you've ever played?

Red Faction II, easily makes the top of my list.

I have played Red Faction countless times, beaten it, loved it, gone back to it again, and again. So I was looking forward to Red Faction II when it was in the making, when I got it ... man, was I smacked in the face.

It took me only a few hours to beat. Throughout more than half the game, you will not be on foot, but on a vehicle of some sort "rail-shooting" and will have no control of your character whatsoever, other than where you're aiming. The controls, and flow of the game was so chunky and unpolished, you'll feel like you're trying to paint like picasso when trying to hit the enemies. The storyline annihilated the original's, and repeatedly flushed it down the toilet. It's own storyline was the most horrible attempt at a "shocking conspiracy", after the first stages. The power of the bosses is so unrealistic, you will literally unload entire clips for more than just a handful of your guns before you can even actually lay damage upon them. The music is nowhere to be heard, liked the cool dark techno-ambience from the original? Forget it. The guns were boring, you were given 4 different types of grenades, that hardly even differed among eachother it was pointless. The geomod system which allowed you to blow up the environment to some extent from the orignal, was taken, and shot down to death in the 2nd, there's hardly anything in the game you can actually break. No, glass doesn't count. The multiplayer maps were so small, you may as well stand in one spot and keep on shooting, because you're probably get 50 kills doing so.

$50 wasted.
More than that though, a few hours of my life.

Red Faction II: Worst game on our green Earth.

So, what have you?

Odd, Red faction II get's high reviews when I look for it on google. Well, then I could name alot of overated games that I actually found bad...

I'm unorginal if I see this but... Action 51

Badly programmed it is, worst collision detection I seen and the jumping is wierd in all of the platform games. Most of the games look like each other, and there is no accomplisment in finishing some of them. It feels like the programmers was.

1. Not skilled.
2. Didn't care about quality, but quantity.

I really don't get what's so great about this game. It's a generic shooter, nothing special about it, and the fact that they try to stick to realism really reduces the fun. (Come on, I want flamethrowers and lasers, not a bunch of guns that are practically all the same.) The graphics sucked too.
It seems that you don't like FPSs. Goldeneye was a game about a movie. Of course they'd try to make it look like the movie. You could just play Duke Nukem or Unreal if you wanna futuristic weapons. *shrugs*

Worst game ever: Vs (playstation)

*Flame HyperHacker big time for saying that Super Mario Sunshine, Majora's Mask, Goldeneye, and The Wind Waker are bad*

Anyway... now that's done...

I will say:

=SUPERMAN 64
You MUST play it to understand how bad it is. Even the original Superman for NES isn't that bad... and believe me, in terms of dullness, Superman for the NES is EXTREMELY hard to beat!

=FINAL FANTASY 7
Yes, I will be flamed too but... well... next to Kingdom Hearts, this is the single most overhyped game ever. At least, unlike Kingdom Hearts, there is a somewhat mediocre and more or less worthwhile game behind the hype while...

=KINGDOM HEARTS
... while Kingdom Hearts happen to be 100% hype. Kingdom Hearts is NOT beautiful, NOT original, NOT deep, NOT innovative, and most importantly, NOT fun. Sure, it isn't Superman 64 bottom of the barrel-level... but it's deathfully dull!

=BUST-A-MOVE ADVANCE
After Bust-a-move 4, the serie ran out of steam... and then, they tried all kind of stuff to revive it... but this "new" stuff, instead of reviving the serie, was what putted the nail on the coffin. The new characters are retarded, the new music is dull, the new story is horrible, and most importantly: they butchered the level design for the puzzle stages and the computer AI for battle stages. Out of the dull, new Bust-a-move games, the GBA game wins the award for being the most dull as it has a very tiny playfield (most of the space is occupied by the next-to-nonexistant backgrounds), about 2 or 3 (annoying) stage music tracks, and most of all, a totally bad design for the levels. Furthermore, the save feature does NOT work. In short, don't waste your time with this one and get the N64, PS1, or Arcade versions.

... that's all for now.

Did you find the Ansem reports? Did you take note of any of the side missions, easter eggs for disney and squaresoft fans, gummi ship system, collecton quests, hidden bosses, abilities, synthesizing, the battle arena, minigames...

No, not a shred of depth to it whatsoever. And certainly completely unenjoyable. I can't believe such a horrible game as Kingdom Hearts even exists!

As for me, anyone ever played "Lagoon" on the SNES? Now THAT is a shitty game. The hitbox for the character's sword was about 1/3 the size of his head sprite. And you had to kill every enemy you came across to get through the game.

I actually own Lagoon. I agree that the hitbox is terribly small, but actually got most of the way through it.

X-Men on NES. Terrible, awful, horrible game.

I feel like arguing with Grey that the story is pretty stupid, the extra bosses laughable, the collection quests lame, synthesizing is totally lame as well, the process of making and then flying gummi ships are especially offending, e.t.c.

FF7, at least, was a LITTLE good... yes, it was mediocre but... Kingdom Hearts is like, uber dull.

Like one of those famous collections quests... you open a chest and "3 puppies have gone home". OK, that's totally lame. Why only 3 at a time? Why ONLY in chests? Why is there, like, NO animation to make it somewhat different of when you open a normal chest? Why do I feel stupidly ripped off? This is supposed to be a side-quest of sorts?

Also, why can I kill the so-called strongest boss (Sephiroth) in less than 5 minutes? He's, like, a total push-over like he was in FF7.

I could go on like this... but well, we cannot stop hype, can we?... and I think this was so close to flame I got burnt and I do not feel like getting burnt so...

... well, forget all of this. I'll stop before flaming further and getting flamed.

...

Anyway!

I agree, Lagoon and X-Men are terrible games... X-Men more than Lagoon but Lagoon is still horrible.

Lagoon offer a REALLY cliched storyline and has the hero with the shortest sword in the world. It's not a sword he got... it's a toothpick! But well... the game CAN be somewhat good... in a mediocre way... if you can endure the small size of the hero's sword.

it's just because there were disney characters in it, huh?

Well, I would agree that the 99 puppies thing is kinda lame, but you get to see the cool movie at the end if you get them all, which is pretty neat. I dunno, I really liked hte combat system, though. It was simple, and definitely a change from what I was playing at the time. I guess it all has to do with the setting you play the game in.

And yes, Lagoon is absolutely horrible. I can't get over how amazingly, gut-rendingly horrible it is.

EDIT: And Kurt Zisa is stronger than Sephiroth, by far.

EDIT2: And did you do the white mushroom thing? I thought that was neat! Same with the juggle the yellow mushroom thing.

Worst game I ever played? Yoshi Cookie GB! I wanted to break it with a hammer that game was so stupid! It would be so much fun if the AI was not so cheap. And I mean VERY cheap! It is, literaly, impossible to win without the highest handicap set (where you would win in about 3 moves )

I should really not reply to Grey but well...

no, it's not becease there were Disney characters in it. I still believe the Magical Quest serie for the SNES/GBA is one of the best platformer series out there.

But a bad game is a bad game, period.

Anyway... I had already said I wouldn't reply and now that the usual "You do not like KH becease you don't like Disney!" is out of the way, I can stop arguing.

Haha, relax, man. I didn't mean it seriously. I love the Magical Quest games too, they're absolutely awesome. Most of the time, the only argument my friends have against the game is that there are disney characters in it. But hey, you've argued your point to me.

I'll relax, indeed.

Also, by shovelware, Grey must speak about the 99 billions crap games third-party produces shoves at us on the PS2 and Xbox and a little bit less on GC (but still too much for comfort).

Still, I believe that games like Metroid Prime makes it worthwhile to look at later consoles.

Yep, the bottom of the barrel gets even lower... but the best games turns out even better!

So... trade your shovel for a bulldozer and get'em, those little gems that are often unnoticed in the hurricane of shovelware!

Exactly what I was on about in the "Next Generation Consoles" thread.

Worstestest game of all time!!!!!:

Earthworm Jim 64
Don't even play this game!!
Okay, so like most people who owned a Nintendo 64, I loved 3D adventure games. I was able to put up with Rayman 2, even Tonic Trouble... But not this game. So the stages were nothing spectacular, but the reason this game sux so much is because of the boss stages. You surf around a mud-type place on a pig, and you need to collect every single ball on the field. If you get hit (which is very easy to do), you lose half of your balls (leaving one)

Okay, so after you finally beat the boss stage, you get to play another 5 awezum stages, then get to the next boss... So you're expecting something new besides pig surfing, right? Well, all you get is the same thing, except you gotta get MORE FAR-KING BALLS!!!

Ah, yes, the EA curse.
"This game is shit, but since we spent most of our budget on a hip license, it'll still sell better than most games." and "Let's change the names of the players in our last -insert sport here- game and call it a new game."
EA is almost solely responsible for the crappy game scene today.

But still, their games get awesome reviews at GameFAQs. How can a game like "The Two Towers" be called "Simply Amazing", "One Game To Rule Them All", "A breathtaking example of what a game should be..." and "Pure Gold"? It's a short, boring and terribly unoriginal hack-and-slash game we've seen a million times before. (Yeah, I rented it once. Beat it the same day, and had no desire to replay any part of it) Do licenses really blind people so much that they think of these games as masterpieces?

Also, I have to mention Hydlide. You run into monsters to hurt them. Then you wait for the automatic healing to kick in. Repeat until game is beaten.
Oh, and you must run into monsters from behind, but you can't tell which way they face.

Drake of the 99 Dragons! Yes, I have had the privlage to play this game, so one day, when I'm rocking back and forth in my chair in the old folks home, I can say to my Grandkids, "Back in my day, we had a game called Drake of the 99 Dragons, and I found more fun with a pile of dog shit my backyard." This is a piece of gaming history here, folks. The single most heinous game to make it to consoles.
