Generally, get called up from a Single-A team.  I've heard of players getting signed and put in the minors from tryouts (see Jim Morris) but who knows when major league teams might have 'em. Some independent leagues are about the same level as well, albeit unofficially. |

| Teams call that "Fantasy League" which is basically go to their spring training facilities in December or January or whenever they want you do, and try out. The Twins have their Fantasy League in December, down in Arizona. Beyond that, I have no idea. | |||
