| I know HL didn't create them but at least HL's design was at least slightly different from the original 'striders' War of worlds look well like the hl 2 ones. Cool though |

I just don't see it  I couldn't find a good picture of the 2005 tripod. But I think the similarities to the former and more to the latter and the 2005 is more "new and improved" sort of technology. |

| I honestly didn't think they looked very similar to each other. "Same concept" yes, but the ones in War of the Worlds were much bigger, and had dual weapons, and many other things. And is the old movie worth checking out? (edited by Xeomega on 07-08-05 11:49 AM) |

| Those aliens looked cuter than E.T. That scares me. Spoiler: I thought it was better than Independence Day. | yeah this reminded me a lot of independence day...i still really liked it tho...i like those kind of movies...but it started to get repetitive after a while...they run away....find a place...end up getting attacked again..same cycle 3 or 4 times...still good tho | |||

Spoiler: If freaking watches could be broken by the storm, why was that camcorder still rolling? How could the TV people get ANYTHING if the cameras all buzzed out DURING the storm, BEFORE any tripods showed up? How could the mechanic NOT notice the people running and the tripods when he was in the middle of everything? Why did they think they could get away on a slow ass moving boat where an assload of people are all on together? They've been planning this for eons but didn't bother inspecting people for weapons before putting them into the cockpit? Why would the lights be flickering and the tripods stop working if the ALIENS were affected by the air? How come suddenly halfway through the movie the aliens decided they needed human blood? Why did everyone suddenly decide to help Tom Cruise out? Were they fans or something? How could the son survive that huge blast? He walked right into it when all of those tanks and aircraft were destroyed. Right next to the tripods. If they vaporized all of the people, why did the girl find CARCASSES in the river? How could the lasers cause fires but leave clothes unharmed? How could the tripod be unharmed by nukes but the eye camera thingie could be cut by an old axe? How could they have such advanced technology but no heat vision or other detecting modes whatsoever on the eye thing? It was fake and it was simply made to entertain. PWNED. |

| I'm actually more of a fan of the radio show back in the 30's. It actually caused a panic, and people were fleeing their homes in NYC. Good times. |
