| There is no way a mobo that supports DDR333/266 (or whatever) can use a DDR400? Or is there a way to overclock either the RAM or slow down the individual RAM stick? Just wondering. I have an extra stick lying around, and I don't want to buy a new stick (even though I really need to, probably). |

| RAM can be overclocked, but I'm pretty sure you won't be able to use a DDR400 with a motherboard that doesn't support it. I know that RAM latency can be modified but I haven't had much experience with actually doing so yet. However, I don't think that will really help you anyways. |

| If you add the DDR400 stick I believe it will drop to the lowest speed on the bus.(ex: speed of whatever other memory is currently using) | |||

| Overclocking RAM isn't a safe thing to do either... there's usually no fail-safe shut-off like there is with CPUs being overclocked (it's a matter of heat). | |||

| I put in the DDR400 stick, and the memory test and everything worked. I'm debating whether to buy a new version of XP Home (long story) or a larget stick of DDR333. |

| uhm... you don't need to buy a new version of XP Home if you already have it. If all you want is SP1 or SP2, you can just download them and update for free. And if you mean you want a setup CD with either service pack, you can do that too for free (it's a bit complex manually, so just do it with nLite). | |||

| faster RAM can run in a system that supports slower RAM but not vice versa. As for overclocking, that only makes sense for trying to get slower RAM to work faster, isn't? | |||

| I remember reading about the benchmark at Anandtech and they concluded that the 9550 was just a budget 9800 and as a result, the geforce does better. However, if you were to get the ATi 9800 Pro, then it will be better than that Geforce | |||

I have some RAM that's too fast for my computer, but when I put it in it just doesn't work. It runs, but the memory gets corrupted and so there's junk on the screen and Windows won't start.  |
