Glitches in games are always fun.
Post the good and fun glitches of the Mario Series here!
I'll update this post too if I find a new one.
Here are mine!(Ripped from a glitch site "Wazap")

(Added one on 6/28)

From Yoshi's Island:
Preadetor
Rating:

Mario... is EDIBLE!
You need a star +10 or +20 card(item) to do this.
First, go to Lv6-8. Then, go a little to the right and make magikoopa appear.
As soon as it appears, go back to the ground.
Wait until you are normal if you are a helicopter, and then get hit by magikoopa.
Mario will get into a bubble. Wait until the counter reaches 0.
As soon as it reaches 0 get Mario then the helicopter fast.(Keep the counter 0)
The guys will come and get Mario. Make sure they get Mario.
Now is the point.
Press start and use the star +10/+20. They will go away.
(Do this near the ground or you will lose.)
(edit)Then touch Mario's bubble if he's still crying.
If Mario's bubble gets small, it is a success!
Now wait until Yoshi becomes normal.
Yoshi will be Marioless and Mario will stay in the small bubble.
Then guess what- Mario becomes edible!
Try eating him he'll turn into an egg.
If you get hit, Yoshi will just cry and nothing happens.

There is no use to this glitch except having fun.
Plus it can only be done in the SNES version.

Warp back to 1-1 2-1 version
Rating:
Go to 2-1.
When you reach the first pipe(with the down arrow),
Press down and B(jump) at the same time.
Mario will warp to the sky.. above 1-1!
Fly to the right slowly... when you reach the very right, go back left slowly.
If you're successful, you can reach 1-1!

Warp back to 1-1 Plus Alpha 4-7 version
Rating:

Go to 4-7. Then go to the balloon bonus thing. Don't touch the balloon and exit the bonus level (go down the hole).
Now morph into a helicopter, and go back into the bonus stage.
If you are succesful you are at the sky of 1-1!
(look at version 2-1 for how to get down)

This is more fun when you have the ducks(the birds you can use as eggs).
When you reach 1-1 they will look odd.
Try hitting an info box with the duck...
DANCING BADGERS APPEAR! There will be a great glitch.
(edit)The glitch will not harm the RAM or ROM(tested twice).
As soon as the info appears, it will start appearing and disappearing over the screen!
When the glitch finishes, some of the border remains in the screen.
It's pretty fun when you need some craziness candy.


Super Batter
Rating:

You will need the Normal watermelon S item(card).
Go to 2-2, or wherever the batting guys are.
Use the watermelon and shoot at the batting guys...
They'll shoot them back at full speed!

Poisonous Gas...
Rating: (Gross)

In 1-7, eat the fluffy near a piranah plant.
The gas by Yoshi kills the piranah plant!

Hm, so what happens if you turn Mario into an egg, shoot him, and get hit?

In Mario Kart 64, near the end of Choco Valley (or whatever the hell it's called ), there's a section where you can boost up onto a cliff. When you get up there you wipe out. Normally you'd slide back down but because you're on a perfectly flat surface, you just keep tumbling for a minute or so until an invisible force brings you back to the track.
Also you can drive up a lot of things you shouldn't be able to by holding A+B and driving.

Those are interesting... I've only heard of the "warp to 1-1" one and the SML2 one. Just curious, but what happens in the "Warp back to 1-1 Plus Alpha 4-7 version" when you hit the block?

- Beat the game with 16 stars

To perform this glitch start a new game and play through it until you have 15 stars (so that MIPS appears in the basement), now head to Bowser in the Dark World and defeat him so you obtain the key to the basement of the castle. Now head down there and grab MIPS. Now take him to the door you came in through, that leads back to the room containing the 30 star door. Now you need to perform the 'take MIPS through doors glitch'. For those unfamiliar with this glitch here's a brief description;

Drop MIPS as close to the door as possible, then walk through the door. As soon as Mario has finished the door opening animation turn and jump back at the door. If you get the distance just right you should land merged with the door, if this happens don't move or you'll open the door, instead, press B to grab MIPS. Now turn and drop MIPS on the other side of the door.

Now grab MIPS again and take him to the 30 star door and drop him a short distance from the door. Now turn around and face away from the door and jump between MIPS and the door, if you get the distance right you should be bumped straight through the door and into the room behind.

Now you need to enter Dire, Dire Docks and complete the first star to uncover the entrance to the Bowser in the Lava Sea course. Beat this bowser to obtain the key to the first floor of the castle.

Now you'll notice that you're trapped in the the room with the entrance to Dire, Dire Docks, to get out simply enter DDD and pause the game and select Exit Course to appear back in the castle lobby. Now walk up the stairs and through the locked door to the first floor of the castle.

Now you need to use the backwards longjump glitch to get through the the 50 star door. To perform this glitch stand at the bottom of the stairs facing away from the door and longjump towards the camera, now hold down Z and tap A when you touch the ground to keep longjumping. While doing this push the analogue stick towards the door, you should start doing backwards longjumps on the stairs. When you land on the stairs, continue to hold Z and the analogue stick and begin rapidly pressing A. With luck you should start moving at a high speed and fly through the 50 star door.

Now make your way to the endless stairs and do the same thing. You should easily make it to the top where you can enter the Bowser in the Sky course. Now simply beat Bowser and you're done! You've completed the game with only 16 stars, less than one quarter of the original amount.

^ Done that, awesome stuff.

In SMW, in Forest of Illusion 1, a little near the end with the wigglers.

If you have a cape, you can continually bounce off of the wigglers and reset them to their yellow form, racking up the score, and 1-ups as you go

Particularly the score part... it gets weird.

Well, as far I saw from that trick the egg is a normal egg. Althought activities that involves Mario isn't possible while Mario is off Yoshi. Yoshi couldn't morph into a helicopter again.

BTW, that trick should work anywhere where Yoshi can both morph and be hurted. So it should work on level 1-2...

I did the "Warp back to 1-1" trick by mistake. It really did freak me out, thinking it was the game who got damaged or something. Especially when my "birds" turned into red blobs. I didn't know about tilesets and such back then...

In SMW, I know for sure that Yoshi can be glitched up into a ridable charging chuck. It's beyond me how that happens thought, but it happened to my sister once and I read about other people getting that. I think I saw a picture somewhere and it wasn't that special really. Just think of a yoshi with a chargin chuck head and a invisble body.

Edit: Apparently, that's a type of Yoshi. It even have screwed up grapics on the overworld... in other words it shouldn't be that hard to reproduce it with some RAM hacking. I do that tomorrow.

This isn't really much, but it's all I can think of...

In Super Mario World, go to a level with wigglers with Yoshi. When you find one, run forward and while eating it. Mario will get hurt even though on Yoshi. It's possible to die this way. Happened to me.

I remember activating that 1-1 glitch by going through a door in 4-4(?) with a Gameshark on in the GBA version. I think I did it on the SNES version from that one maze level too. It's neat because you need only finish 1-1 and you get credit for the level you started on.

His tounge was created in a different graphics bin from his body. The castle uploads a different graphics bin from his tounge, which is why it looks so messy.

The bin where his body is at, loads up at every level, uh...level type, I should say. Which is why it shows correctly.

Actually, the tongue graphics are in every graphical area that normally loads in to that section of memory except for those that load in castles in ghost houses.

His body is fine because the game doesn't need the graphic space it uses up, so it just leaves the body graphics there. It does need the space the tongue uses, though, so it just plops some other graphic in its place.

Would it be possible to put Yoshi's Tongue graphics in the same file as Yoshi's body, and repoint it so that it loads up the new graphics? That would solve the ghost house/castle yoshi's tongue problem. Just a thought.
