Giving Kirby a sly look he realized what was actually going on, and what started out as playful banter turned into full curiosity. Daiel: Hey, wait a second. Are you really..? | Jarukoth: "WHAAAHAHAH!! That was hilarious! Nice moves, Grey!" Ada: "Hey! Hey! Everyone cool it!" The rest of the ladies slowly stop assaulting Grey, except for Kari, who is still pummeling him with her fists harder than any of the other ladies with thier accessories ... Kari: "You (punch) ruined (punch) it (punch)..!!" Ada: "You too, Kari! MOVE IT!!!" Finally knocked out of her fury, Kari looks back up at Ada, suddenly regaining her sunny disposition... Kari: "Oh...sorry...heehee..."  Once Kari gets off Grey, and helps him out of the way, Ada reappears, this time with a chair, and sits down, legs crossed... Ada: "Alright. The bouquet's done. Now, all that's left is the garter..." Ada motions with her finger for Jarukoth to come up and take off the garter. Jarukoth does a daring acrobatic leap over the crowd, landing right in front of Ada, smiling... Nimue: "Just take it easy, you two! This is supposed to be a worksafe board!" A few moments later, Jarukoth successfully removes the treasured accessory from her leg... Jarukoth: "There now. That wasn't so bad, was it?" He then turns to the crowd, motioning for the men to come on down... Jarukoth: "Okay, you know the drill. Guys, line up to catch the garter! Come on, I know you all want this thing!" As he speaks, Jarukoth takes a couple of steps closer to the cake table, where his katana and wakizashi still rested. If the brawl that resulted from the ladies and the bouquet was violent, a struggle between several red blooded male warriors for the garter was bound to be more than a bit chaotic... |

| Kirby: Ow! Kirby sprung directly onto his feet after having Nakase stomp on his toes. Nakase was still flushed from the bouquet toss, but she was still in good enough condition to get back at Kirby. Nakase: Kirby, dear.. Kirby: Ok ok ok. I'll go. Oi.. I forgot about this part.  ;Nakase took Kirby's seat as the spikey headed lad stepped forward. It was still embarassing. |

| Grey: "Thanks a bunch there, Miss, I..." As Kari helped Grey up, their eyes met, and immediately his brain stopped working. "I.... I.... I...." Eyes, skin, hair, sunny attitude that could turn to death on wheels in an instant... Those punches really hurt, too... "I......." Analysis? Get the hell out before you do something stupid. "I..... I need to go now!" Grey, his face a deep crimson hue, rushed as far away from Kari as he could, and dove behind the bar where Kalar and Garro were drinking with Janus. Janus leaned over the bar and raised an eyebrow. Garro stared into his drink, and Kalar just snickered. Janus: ".......Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Think I'll watch the garter toss now." | An iced glass of H2O in his hands, Janus leans over to Schwa and whispers into his ear the reason for the throng of males crowding around Jarukoth... Janus: "A garter is a special accessory that a woman fits around her thigh while wearing a dress to assist in keeping her stockings up. It's a bit of a sexual innuendo to have the groom remove the garter, as originally the purpose of the garter was to have it be accepted by the bride and denote everlasting faith. The bride would them throw the garter to the crowd, and use that as a form of "escape" from pursuing males. The groom would join in the crowd and break them up, therefore saving his wife from their pursuits. Nowadays, the garter toss is initiated by the groom and serves a similar purpose to the bouquet toss, in that it's symbolic of which male would be next to marry." He took a sip from his drink to cool his tongue, and continued. "Personally, I think it's cute, but unnecessary. You're supposed to get into the crowd and try to catch the garter as it's thrown. I wouldn't mind catching it, but I've really got neither need nor opportunity to marry. It'd be a fun little souvenier, though." |

And with that, Jarukoth heaves the garter into the crowd slightly recklessly, anticipating the impending struggle... |

| The giggles sounded like gunshots to Grey's already reddened ears. He could hear the very air swishing around the garter as it flew into the air. Time seemed to slow down as he raised his head above the bar and looked through Janus and Schwa's closeup conversation.... Over and over it turned in the air, and around and around the camera panned as it twisted and turned along its path into the waiting hands of the male populace. THUMPTHUMP. THUMPTHUMP. Grey's heart pounded ever so loudly and suddenly as he looked over to Kari's laughing face... And then, time sped right back up, and the garter fell into the crowd as random DiEn-like NPCs blew left and right as a massive cloud of dust kicked up around them.... The dust cleared, and there was Grey on his knees, his eyes shut tight, his face beet-red, and his fist clenching Ada's garter tightly... ....Along with Shino's. |

As Grey is found holding the Garters, Ami watches intently at the scene, then her crystal lights up beat-red as she collapses to the ground in pain. Actual pain. Korra is too busy watching the scene to notice. Schwa isn't anywhere nearby. Put simply: Ami's in peril. "Geez! Poor Grey!" Korra exclaims, unaware of his sister's perilous state. |

| The rest of the crowd seemed to quiet down a bit with Grey and Shino's awkward moment, considering neither of them seemed willing to drop the garter to the other "No way." Shino thinks to himself, looking at Kari. "Not this time..." Jarukoth: "HASSAN CHOP!" With a single, surgically accurate slice, Jarukoth cuts the garter in two equal pieces as Shino and Grey stumble backward. It would seem staying close to his weapons wasn't such a bad idea after all... Jarukoth: "Huh. Well, that was weird..." --------------------------------- Meanwhile, Nimue rushes over in a panic to Ami's side as she sees her collapse... Nimue: "Can you speak to me? What happened?" | Grey's eyes narrow, his cool having been completely regained.... Grey: "Thanks, Jarukoth... You're a real pal." He stands up and grins, clapping the ninja on his back. He then looks down at Shino, and extends his hand, wishing to help him up. "And Shino, you were a real sport there, too. Who'da thought that, eh? Two equal pieces. I wonder what it means... Maybe we'll marry each other?" He steals a sidelong glance at Kari, and grins, adjusting his glasses to provide that trademark anime sheen that circles around them and subsides instantly. Janus and Schwa, however, must have been pretty well-disturbed by the collapse of the small child near the bar. Janus dashed to Ami's side, and checked her vital signs... | Shino tosses a knife right in front of Grey's field of vision, which sticks into the leg of a nearby table... Shino: "...No." Not even Shino was fully aware which one of Grey's inquiries he was saying no to more, but that didn't seem to matter much at the moment... Nimue: "She's not dying...not as long as I'm here..." Nimue places her staff down, and puts Ami on her back. She then places her palms on Ami's stomach and forehead, flowing healing, holy energy through her body. Nimue: "Odds are, whatever is afflicting Ami, this should kick her out of it..." Just when things are beginning to look up, Ada begins to feel something. Something distant, yet troublesome... Ada: *silently* "Damn...not again..." |

| Schwa rushes over. "Hey... It's that Gemini girl! She was pretty mysterious when I first met her... Never spoke or anything. Korra! Get over here!" Korra rushes over as well. "Yes, did you need m-- EEP! Ami, speak to me!" Right when Grey stands up, Ami's crystal goes back to purple and she wakes up, just like that. "Negative... emotional... feedback... gone." There's a pause, then Korra figures it out. "OH! Uh, Nimue, you may know that Ami has a telepathic emotional connection with everyone nearby, that she can't break. It's just a part of who she is. That gives the side effect of hurting Ami physically whenever someone else is affected by a negative emotion. When Grey was mortified earlier, Ami felt it full force... and since she was already trying to repair a broken soul because of... uh, the Jansen incident, she couldn't sort out both kinds of pain and it was too much for her." Ami gets to her feet and stretches for a moment. "Nimue, you have helped me twice. Even while in a lifeless state, my soul can still pick up positive emotional feedbacks to repair itself. Thank you again." And she walks over and squeezes Nimue again. Schwa is slightly bewildered and slightly amazed. "In all my travels, I have never met anyone who feeds off of positive emotions to heal him or herself. Wow." |

| Nimue returned the hug without hesitation, relieved that the girl is alright. Nimue: "Think nothing of it. Just remember that if you ever need me again, I'll be here..." Nimue holds her in a very warm, nurturing manner...until she picks up on the same troubling feeling Ada has. However, the force, whatever it may be, still seems rather distant, and doesn't seem to be of much concern at the moment... Jarukoth himself is also beginning to feel the approaching threat. However, he does nothing to inform or indicate that there would be a problem. Instead, he casually walks over to the DJ, and whispers something into his ear. DJ: "Time now for the last dances of the day! Now's your chance to dance with anyone, including the bride and groom!" He figured it would be best to let the guests enjoy themselves a bit more before the reception concluded. They should have more than enough to to dance, enjoy themselves and leave before any trouble follows them here... |
