First off, I'm surprised to be the first one to make this thread.

Second off, this movie was the shit.

It was by far not just a movie, but an incredible experience. It is easily the best Batman movie in my opinion. It's dark, it's serious, and it's great.

The soundtrack seriously moves this movie, and it's something I'd seriously like to get my hands on.

There was only one major problem with the story, how Bruce's parents died. From what I can remember according to the comic and original cartoon, didn't Two Face (or possibly the Joker) kill his parents? In the movie, it seemed to just be some regular guy.

But, that didn't bother me when I saw the progression in this fantastic movie.

I liked the theme of "Fear" throughout the movie. With Bruce's maturing, and from the Scarecrow (I used to hate him).

This movie was seriously pulled off perfectly.

I'd give it probably a 9 out of 10. A MUST see. It's not a movie, it's an experience. Even if you don't care for the comics, or the Batman himself, you'd still probably enjoy this movie unless your'e extremely picky.

Go see it.

Edit: And I have to say that Justin Bale (don't hurt me if that's wrong) did an absolute stunning job as Batman, probably the best job next to Micheal Keaton.

No, his parents were killed by goons on the street. Prompting him to be a crime fighter.

So sayeth the Holy Canon of Batman comics and movies and cartoons.

I saw it last night. I thought it was pretty decent, and didn't insult the viewer's intelligence too much. Saying "why do we fall?" three times was a bit excessive. And the part about Raz Alghoul (sp?) I remember from the Animated Series, but I had a hard time stomaching this League of Shadows stuff about destroying cities. All I remember about Alghoul was him searching for immortality.

Admittedly, I have maybe read one Batman comic book, if that; but even if it's in the comics it sounds really far fetched to me - even for a movie about totally made up stuff.

I liked the guy they picked for the Scarecrow, but I thought his character deserved more screen time than it got. I doubt those are his real eyes, and if they are, that's one creepy ass baby face.

Alfred and Bruce (It's Christian Bale I guess? Ebert says so) play off each other for a healthy amount of wit, including a false drug innuendo that had pretty much everyone in the threater cracking up.

This movie does tell me one thing though:
Spoiler:
It seems to be completely stand alone from the previous Batman movies. A couple of things don't tie in that well from one to the next, so this could be a completely new series of movies, which doesn't bother me one bit. Bring them on!

Most definitely. It was just somewhat "freaky" because his character looked almost like a kid, then he puts on that mask and he's someone else.

But yeah, I was a little disappointed that we didn't get to see a lot of him throughout the movie.

Spoiler:

But who knows if he really died at the end?

Lenophis:
Spoiler:

There's actually two ways you can look at it. At the end you see a "Joker" card, which could just mean this movie leads up to the originals. Or, they're going to make another one, with the Joker and do it differently than the first Batman movie.

It is definitely different from the originals though. I thought this one was much darker, and they actually made Batman seem more realistic (with his gear and everything). So I'd definitely love to see more movies from this.

I've always wanted to see Clayface in a Batman movie.

The important thing to remember is that this movie is not supposed to be in the same series/continuity as the other 4. Its the beginning of a new Batman movie series, not a prequel, just like those four weren't sequels to the Adam West movie.

Is that a fact?

Not saying I don't believe you, I'd just like some hard evidence ...

That truly rocks if that's correct though.

Edit: But they seriously, fucking seriously better not have Robin and Batgirl in ANY OF THEM! I can't stand them.

That is freaking incredible.

Superhero movies have gotten so good these days. I'm not too excited about the Fantastic Four though, personally. But it still looks like it'll be worth seeing.

But yeah, that's pretty awesome.

Hopefully they'll keep Bale throughout the whole series this time.

By far the best super hero movie I've ever seen in my entire life. If the sequels are three quarters as good, I'll cry.

One of the best things had to be the score. It was brilliant.

One question though... did Bruce try and kill Liam Neeson when the mansion blew up? Ducard said he did, but I'm not so sure. ;/

edit: me sucking its cock.

ww: I saw you didn't know who Hans Zimmer was, neither did I until my friends looked it up and got a few of his soundtracks.

He also did the score for Black Hawk Down, The Last Samurai, The Ring 2, and other movies that I can't think of at the moment.

So yeah, he's brilliant and up there wth John Williams.

Does batman qualify as a super hero? He doesn't have any powers.

He had to lose all of his wealth and live in scum to realize true suffering.

Spoiler:
Man, I loved the Scarecrow. How can we call him a villain? He was fucking giving everyone FREE LSD! That's not super-villainy, that's super fucking awesome!
