1. Link to the Past, SNES, Platformer
- Link to the Past has been, and always will be one of the most memorable games in my opinion. I've grown up playing this game since I was 5 years old, beating it again and again. Even though, in the end, it's quite an easy game, it's just a pure classic in my opinion.

- Super Mario Bros 3. will, and always has been my personal favorite SMB game as well. So many power ups, incredible music, great gameplay, and everything about it just rocks.

But in the end, if I were put onto an island with a choice of having to choose between these too, I'd have to go with Link to the Past.

2. Chrono Trigger, SNES, RPG
- Sure, you may say it's overated, but that still doesn't mean it wasn't a bad game or anything. I think CT has one of the best soundtracks out there, and impressive storyline, a great setting, a unique and original battle system, and just other good stuff.

SSBM was great and all, but CT came first, and it's just a much more memorable game in my opinion.

Don't know why I wrote this all up, sounds like I'm going to cry.

Never having an SNES, SMB3 is essentially the game I grew up with, until I got an N64. Link to the Past was good and all but I dunno I just prefer some of the other Zeldas.

SSBM is the effing awesome, though.

1. Super Mario Bros 3

This was actually the first of the original three that I managed to beat. I agree that the music was really good for its time, and besides, it's all the old-school Mario that we know and love.

Plus, I was personally never really excited to play LttP...bleh.

2. Super Smash Bros Melee

At least one of the five best games on the Cube (I have it #3, behind Metroid Prime and RE4). Multiplayer is absolutely legendary (our opinion of SSBM's multiplayer = most others' opinions of Halo 2 multiplayer). What else is there really to say?

And the top four seeds all made it in...

Super Mario Bros. 3 vs. Chrono Trigger. That's my pick.

SMB3, it's just close to my heart. Sorry.

SSBM, the hell with Chrono trigger. SSBM is the best Gamecube game and party game ever, and therefore get's my vote.

SMB3.
The inginuity was incredible. Level design, though short, was fantastic. In what other game can you travel through deserts, gigantic lands, fly through the sky and traverse through a forest of pirannah plants? It's just wonderful.

Oh, fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. Why do you people torture me so?

3. Link to the Past. I'm a Zelda bitch, I guess.

4. Chrono Trigger. The big decider here is the singleplayer; I am not a big multiplayer gamer...

1 - SUPER MARIO BROTHERS 3
-Both are awesome games, but I've always enjoyed this one more, no matter how many times I've played it. I've finished LttP, what, 5, maybe 6 times. I've finished SMB3 (and re-releases on SNES/GBA,etc) , ehh..., too many to count and climbing...

2 - SUPER SMASH BROTHERS MELEE
- Probably the ONLY fighing game I ever got into. I honestly haven't played either game that much, but I enjoyed this one much more... especially since I kick my brother's ass every time I play it!

Link to the Past and Chrono Trigger

I strongly believe there is no finer game of the 16 and 8 bit eras than Link to the Past

=3: Super Mario Brothers 3
REALLY tough choice. Both games have more or less the same amount of fun, longevity... but SMB3 is more difficult while Link to the Past has better story.

All in all, SMB3 wins... by a VERY slight margin.

=2: Super Smash Bros. Melee
Chrono Trigger is WAY too easy and doesn't have half the replay value SSBM has. SSBM has probably the best multiplayer mode ever too. No brainer here.

Chrono Trigger is ABSOLUTELY no match for SSBM... and if you vote for Chrono Trigger... then go on and replay Chrono Trigger and THEN compare it to SSBM! If you STILL vote for Chrono Trigger... then well, you must really dislike fighting games or think that story>gameplay!... no offense if you belong to none of the two categories before and still vote for Chrono Trigger, tough!

In short, while Link to the Past and SMB3 can oppose SSBM... SSBM totally owns Chrono Trigger in my opinion.
