My Antivirus scan thing found one on my comp... and its source? According to it... it's this place. wtf is going on here? Do you guys really send cookies with viruses attached? I'm 100% serious about this. You should look into it if you don't know what's going on.

I hope you're kidding... One AV program is more than enough. 3 together at once is NOT good. They tend to fuck each other up to the point that none of them do any good. You're lucky you can still boot your PC (Norton + McAffee = nonbooting PC 90% of the time) |

The name of the virus is Trojan and its source was apparently from the domain board.acmlm.org... surprisingly, there wasn't any from www.board.acmlm.org... EDIT: and KP, 3 is way too many. Those take up way too much space... (edited by Mighty Kefka on 04-05-04 05:42 PM) |

Let's get one thing straight, first... The board itself does not send viruses intentionally. It's possible that it is reporting it's source as Acmlm's Board to fool you. Either that, or your software thinks that one of our cookies is a trojan. Remote, but possible, I guess... |

I have two 240G harddrives. I have the space to do that. Besides, having them in the same HD don't matter anyways... I don't activate them. ....I don't have any viruses, so it works for me! |

Usually a reinstall is the cleanest way to get rid after getting a trojan horse Other than that, remove it and update your antivirus at least once a day. Old virus definitions later than two or three days won't help you. I'm running the only one good free virus scanner AntiVir and although it tends rarely to report a virus where is no one, it does not report anything from here; if a registered virus got found here, the AVGuard would have denied access for me (as long the virus is not a new one or simply not in the current VDF file) |

How exactly could an antivirus tell you where a file came from?

Almost sounds like your AV is overreacting to a cookie or something. When you say it's name was "Trojan" was there any other description. Usually it's "backdoor.trojan" or something like that as a name. Trojan is a very generic title and can refer to spyware, adware, cookies or other "malware" in some cases. Acmlm's board gives you a Cookie when you visit, but that is merely a login cookie. If you want better control of where you get cookies and things from, might I suggest using Mozilla Firefox and playing with the Cookie settings |

I've been getting nailed by some W32/SDBOT variant quite a bit as of late...made it's way on for recent threats on McAfee. Doesn't do much but it's not like I want it on there...and I'm pretty sure it's some dumb malware crap. Messed with my services too...likes to DL the virus when it's not on my system anymore [kills it].
