I don't think it matters. Either way sounds decent. I've caught myself saying it both ways, and many of my friends say it either way.

So either one.

The first one. It has NO relation to Gil from The Simpsons, but that's how I pronounce it anyways.

I preferred GP but that's another story.

I just called it money. Most of my friends do also. Those that don't call it "Gill" or whatever the currency is in the game.

Ditto. I remember saying the 'Jill' pronunciation of it for a while...and then I remember it being said voice-wise in a game somewhere. X or X-2...not sure...I think...maybe I wrong.

I'd go with Gill too. This currency also got used too often in the later games; but at least more innovative than "GP"

XXXD

Same here...usually when money is used in any game, I'll usually say gil.

At least it sounds better than Capcom's Zenny.

Coins. At least that's what I think anyhow. Not sure if they would all be made out of gold, though.

I still tend to call it gold or GP instead, and I'm definitely more used to GP than Gil ... since the only game with "Gil" I've ever played was FF7

But I'm going with the J pronounciation, mostly because that's how it'd be in French
