thats fucking AWESOME

i guess they will have around half an hour to play, and i hope that the track list will be:

-Shine On You Crazy Diamond (pts 1 to 5)
-Time
-One Of These Days
-Celestial Voices
-Hey You

and please, no Another Brick In The Wall part 2 just coz it is considered by 90% of people who dont know their entire catalogue as their best 'hit'

I like the song "Another Brick in the Wall," and why should the band not play it? Since it's somewhat the band's signature song, it is likely that you will hear the song.

I do like some of their other songs though. "Hey You" and "Money," for example.

They've now listed Pink Floyd as performers on the Live 8 website.

Half an hour thats not that long. They need two hours or more. They have been around since the 70's. Give them credit.

Neither will I, unfortunatly... HOWEVER... I do believe that there will be live streams on AOL, perhaps television broadcasts, and I've read (unconfirmed) that there will be a DVD release.

A world tour would be great... They could tie it in to the 30th Anniversary of WYWH.

^ Pink Floyd fans of the world....................................^.and Legion

Seriously, I had written off this ever happening maybe five years ago. If this isn't a hoax its a damn shame b/c I have no idea where I'm gonna scrape together money to go see it. I hope they come to US and do it at least once as well.

And we're not quite done yet with Live 8 concerts - Canada, Russia and Japan will likely all get their own concerts. Actually, it's a done deal with Canada - the announcement will be made tomorrow, and it's LIKELY going to be in Toronto. I'm holding out hope for Montreal but I'm not that optimistic.

And since they will be in Canada at that time to practice for their upcoming tour, it's been strongly speculated that the Rolling Stones will be our headliner.

Yeah, I read something about a pontential show in Ottawa. Too bad that's STILL to far away from me.

I think that most of them are free... BUT for this London concert, you needed to enter some sort of text-messaging contest, which ended earlier this week.

It's not going to be in Ottawa - they wanted to use Parliament Hill and were told that it couldn't hold 150,000 people.

Yep, the only way you'd get tickets for Live 8 was by texting a number. They recieved 70 million texts, and 75,000 people got a pair of tickets, so the chances of someone say on this very board not to far away from here getting tickets would be astronomical right?

Well you'd think so
