(oh c'mon i thought it was clever...) Well anyways i finally got around to playing majoras mask on my collecters edition disk and that strangest thing happens. it LAGS when your in the middle of clocktown! What's even wierder is that it didn't lag at all with the N64. Just thought you might find this interesting. Anybody know why this happens. |

Actually, last time I threw my N64 copy in (shortly after finishing my OoT/MQ Bonus Disc), it seemed to being going mighty slow. I chalked it up to my having grown too used to the GCN copy of OoT. I do know that of which you speak, but it didn't bother me too muchly. The occasional sound quirks are more annoying.

The only lag I noticed is how the music sounds weird as you enter and leaves certain areas, it's get distorted. That didn't happen on the orginal. And the orginal was made for the fuzzy filter, which Gamecube dosen't have. While it is sharper, I seen some bleeding edges and stuff that actually looks little worse... I gotta play the orginal N64 version sometime. |

I haven't played much of MM on the Collectors Disc to say anything about the lag, but I can say however the occasional sound bleeps here and there did kind of annoy me. Still, I enjoyed OoT more on the GC than I did N64, I just liked the feel of the controller over the three-handed beast. |

It even warns you about the sound distortion when you start the game. And it's noticeable as you go between areas who have similar music. ...thought it's just heard as a faint spark. Nothing that special. But the Gamecube version is unstable. It never crashed on me, but it have for my sister. And looking on the Gamecube boards on Gamefaqs, seems like it's more of a rule than a expection. And it's annoying, considering the odd saving system... |

I'm fairly certain that the MANUAL even says that there's a bit of a problem with the sound, so you can't say Nintendo isn't warning people. Might have to wait for Revolution to be able to get a clean copy of this... :\ |

The problem is he Gamecube versions are just the N64 games, but of course with the changed controller button image. But it is the whole game and an Emulator too! That is why everythin is un-perfect. It is sort of funny that they do that, but I bet it was only easier than to have to make a real Gamecube sort of version

Paraplayer, I hear where your comin' from. I set out to finally once and for all beat Majora's Mask when I finally got the collector's disk, but I found that the sound distortion between map transitions was noticable but tolerable. When the slow downs happened I grinned and beared it, but when my GAME CRASHED I gave up! Sense the system of saving in Majora's Mask is so screwed up where you can't save every minute to prevent data lost, I think I ended up having to redo half a dungeon 'caz of the crash! I finally gave up playing Marjora's Mask on collecter's disk. I hated that game anyway... Stupid paralell universe... =P Snika |

My MM problems on Collector's Edition... 21 block save. My problems with the N64 version. ... and that's it. I've never had any lag, never noticed sound distortion, and never had any freezes. Maybe I'm just really lucky. |

If you don't notice any sound distortion between the maps, then something is wrong. Or you just don't notice it. (It's states that it happens in the manual). However the crashes seems to be competly random, I never had it happen to myself. Damn lucky I was. |

Colleen: I'm even pretty sure a "warning" comes up while the games loading, or beforehand on the game itself; about the sound. Is it only effecting you with MM though? I think you get the "warning" for both OoT, and MM, but I can say I never had any problem with OoT. |

I don't think my post was read ._. it is because it uses the emulator that it does have such a lag some of the time.

Originally posted by Kitten Yiffer No, it states that it MAY happen. Unless your manual is different from my manual, and your loading screen is different from my loading screen. Xeo: No warning for OoT, just MM. |

Yeah, I totally forgot the IN-GAME warning as well. Hell, Nintendo drills it through the player's head that there MIGHT be sound problems, and yet when the problems do happen people bitch. You just can't win sometimes. |

I think they included it there so people wouldn't call Nintendo and wonder if there was anything wrong with their Gamecube/Game. Heh, at least it's good that they admit the glitch. |

I've never seen any lag or distortion but it did crash once. OoT works absolutely perfect though, because it doesn't use the expansion pak. Though I kinda wonder why they couldn't just re-compile for Gamecube? (Funny how they make no attempt at all to hide the emulation. *cough*save screen*cough* ) Does the sound distortion sound like really quick beeps and such? I get that all the time with my Gameshark. |
