I dont know much about crazy computer boxes, but I know what I like.
Those Tablet laptops intrigue me, but I also like the ones with the super clear screens. Im going to college for Engineering(may change) this fall so I need a laptop that can do what I need it to and a little more. I like to play SOME computer games not much though so I dont need an AlienWare but I would like to maybe play something like WoW (my current PC cant). Oh and WIFI is a must these days. CD and DVD burners are cool to. I dont wanna go poor in the process though so...

Any suggestions?

Dell is reasonable for gaming--they have semi-flexible customizations. Just check our their laptops page. Inspiron is good for all-around use.

IBM is nice for being light and good battery life (dell has good battery life as well but they trail in the weight department). However, I don't believe I've seen people play games on IBM as I think they are catered more towards academics/professional environments.

WIFI is pretty much standard these days but I'd recommend just buying a wireless card anyways if you want internet support. So yeah, check out Dell or IBM and make sure the laptop doesn't use integrated video.

First, do not, I repeat, do not buy any of the Desktop replacement laptops, as great as the power on those might look, it completely takes away from the main use of a labtop, portability. Not only does it weigh more than 15lbs it also ends up with basicaly an hours worth of batery, which is not good. Go for a laptop that has some decent batery life cause that's what you'll really want out of it. If you want something really powerful, don't waste the money of a laptop, just get a desktop. Also, I've bought two computers from iBuyPower and they were both great. I made the mistake of getting a gaming laptop so it had no batery life, but their other laptops have good baterly life. The only problem with getting it through them is they don't really have customer support, they expect you to know enough about computers to fix most problems yourself. They'll help you fix/replace parts in your computer if it's a hardware problem, but they don't really deal with software issues. It's cheaper than Dell and teh like, but still, not free, so check them out.
