If you use BitTorrent, one thing you probably know is that you gotta seed your files (leave the client running so that people can download them from you). The problem with this, though, is that the torrent files specify an exact file name - try to move or rename any of the files you downloaded, and they'll be considered missing. And as we all know a lot of people like to use sucky names on BitTorrent like:

...all of which I could have done in GNU+Linux by dragging-and-dropping the files to the new directory in Konqueror, and selecting "Copy as links" or whatever, then renaming the new softlinks.

Great! I'll just drag, drop, and select... oh right, Windows doesn't have that option.

Basically VN is saying that GNU/Linux didn't hide this feature like Microsoft Windows. (Plus, he's making symbolic links, similar in concept to .lnk files)
