Ok, I lied and said there would never be another demo of this hack, but everyone is showing off their stuff so it's time to whip mine out too! I won't bother going on about everything that's changed in this hack: read the readme and play the thing. Trust me, you'll really like what you find. The levels chosen are from world 1-3, so the difficulty may fluxuate oddly, but I told it wasn't hard at all, so this should prove to be a much more enjoyable hack than Mario Adventure. Beating the demo will yield you a new item to play with. Use Select during the a level to use this item. It has 5 uses and what it does won't be quite apparant until you've used it once then went back to the map screen and checked your inventory box. This contains a lengthy readme and two patches, one of PRG 0 and PRG 1 ROMs, so use the appropriate one with your ROM! |

Im not sure how I feel about the hills but the rest of the new gfx is great. I hope you also give the logs from the airship some special gfx touches like the others you have done. | |||

I found a problem with the coin ship: If you get the ship to appear (to get it easily, simply enter the mushroom shop as soon as you start the game) and you complete it, you get taken back to the map screen--but minus a life, and a hammer bro replaces the ship, as if you did not complete the ship! Is this supposed to happen? Is the coin ship supposed to show up at all? It seems strange to me. Also, there are a few other small text glitches in the spade house, N-Spade game, and mushroom shop (try buying something before Toad finishes listing the prices), as well as a glitch where the clouds that appear in the airship do not appear in the coin ship, causing the lower two rows of the screen to be overwritten with blank tiles, but otherwise this demo ROCKS!! Finally, another demo from the God of SMB3. Thank you o'lord of the 3 for blessing us, we are not worthy! LOL! I'm really glad you released this demo DD, I've been waiting since your'e first release & I'm glad it's worth the wait. I love how Cheep Cheep shows it's face out of the water. Thanks for the compliments everyone! The cool thing about this demo is that half the stuff is even shown in the hack! The new Flames, the Snifits and other enemies aren't shown, as well as a lot of really cool levels and the hack isn't even half way done, yet! There's still a lot of surprises left in store. Though the biggest thing I worry about right now: was the demo too hard? Mario Adventure was insanely hard, and this is something I really want to try to avoid in this hack. Create lots of fun, interesting levels without the huge spike in challenge. | |||

Plus, personally, I don't like "puzzles", but "adventures". There's a couple of hacks that creates a true puzzle to get solved in a screen or more... or the entire level made of puzzles. Too boring. Get original levels, continue your nice work. EDIT - RockNES has trapped a bad opcode! This is pretty special DD- it looks great and has loads of beautiful ideas. I have to say though- I'm not overly keen on the controls for luigi. the traction is something i just can't get used to (It reminds me a little of lost levels, in this regard) Though the jumping and shell control is spot on. Please don't get me wrong though- I'm blown away. You're skills as a game designer are very, very evident. |
