| Eh, and what about the 1 500 other members here? Everyone here has probably played a Mario game, if not many of them. Personally I'm 17, and I've always loved the Mario games. I still do, of course. If the Mario games are kiddy, why do people over 25 play them? And Sonic games are even more childish...  |

| Also, at least there is some challenge with mario games... one of the main reasons adults still play the games. In most sonic games, besides Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog, all you did was keep hold of the > button on the joypad for about 1 minute and you complete the level. At least the was some sort of adventure and challenge in mario games. Also, how many blue, lightning speed hedgehogs can there be? Right I admit that it is a bit childish that Mario games are based on a plumber who got sucked down a drain into the mushroom kingdom, but a BLUE HEDGEHOG!?!?! that runs at light speed??? At least there is some form of realism in mario games, for a start Mario is human And btw D.C, I don't think he has actually played a Mario game, and if he has he hasn't played it further than half the first level, or if it is SMW he hasn't played any other level besides Yoshi's House :\ (edited by RYjet911 on 05-27-05 02:50 AM) |

| I totally agree with RY. Sure, Sonic games just like Mario games have moved into the 3D era, but Sonic still remained the same. It's all about running with Snoic. Okay, so it's fast... But the only reason you get hurt in that game is when there's a bunch of spikes that appear out of nowhere, which pisses off your rings. At least with Mario games, you can actually see which objects/enemies are approaching and use your skills to eliminate/avoid them. Sonic, on the other hand, you're going too fast to see what's coming at you. You never have a chance to avoid objects unless you memorize the stage. Games shouldn't be based on previous experience as to memorize the entire game just so you can beat the stage without getting hit. Sure, Sonic's an alright game, but it's just to repetitive for me. The only "new" powerup, is really that ball which attracts the rings to Sonic... WOW!!  |

| wow... someone agreed with me? TOTALLY?!?! Anyway, the only 2d platformers that I like when fast paced are 2d platform shooters, as there is someway of killing the enemy when you see it, rather than running into it, and THEN being able to avoid/kill it. Also, the fact you die when you have 0 rings is plain strange. |

(never played A Link to the Past until two years ago, otherwise i would have liked IT first)... And who cares if Sonic is better than Mario, or Mario is better than Sonic? Both are 2 completly different characters on 2 seperate systems! So you like sonic, most of us like mario. Yes, Mario is great because the characters are cool, and Sonic is great because of the memories I have from when I was little. Yes, I was a Sonic fanatic, BIG time! I still like Sonic because I loved him when I was little, but now I like Mario as well, so you all know my existance proves there can be peace instead of war. |

| No it's only coz he has his own forum with different rules and he thinks you can post any thread in any part of a board, inlcuding the main part... He's also only doing it to piss ME off, no intention to anyone else on the board. And he's in the UK, same as me (He gives away infomation about me in public online places, so just returning the favour) Also, I don't see his problem. I like the Sonic games too, just not as much as Mario. He makes stupid jokes about his next game going to feature him in a lorry because he's so fat he won't be able to move (And he said this before the DS came out). I look at Sonic when he says this and he would only need a wind stronger then 1 mph and he would be whisked off to the stars he's that thin. And if mario is so unfit and overweight, would sonic be able to lift the 500 pound slimeball known as Bowser? |
