First things first. After messing around with several distros of Linux, all the ones I try report "package" errors. Maybe the ISOs are corrupt? My CD-Rs could be poor quality too. Since installing linux didn't work, I went back into windows xp. Weird thing is Partition Magic claims D: is of partition type "BAD". There's no such thing. I've had no data loss at all. When trying to convert the drive to NTFS, Windows says it's already NTFS (which is correct). The next distro I plan to try soon is Xandros, I know it works since I've installed it on other computers. BTW, does anyone know how to install WINE in Xandros? |

Well it sounds like whatever disk that's on is dying... You'd best back up whatever's on it ASAP. |
