Hey!

I recently installed Win98SE on my Pentium 200mhz. comp. The only problem is, every once and a while, whle listening to music with a sound blaster Live! 24-bit card and using Lunar Magic, Windows flashes a BSOD saying there was a memory parity error. Does anyone know what would have happened, because I never touched my RAM since Win98 1st, and it had no problems there (I upgraded so I could use the sound card; Discovery computers doesn't allow returns, I.E. it would have been a waste of %50.)

memory parity error? sounds like in exchanging the sound card you might have bumped something to damage the memory. i don't think it is a software thing but it just could be age that has caused memory problems. dust is also another factor.

I'll look at it. I don't know why it would happen, but when I turn off my comp i will check the RAM. Thanks, and I'll post/edit later with any results.

Well, you could run Memtest on the computer to check every bit of your RAM. It will inform you of any errors. It's very verbose, and it's much better than the BIOS checks (which often fail to find errors)

oK, thanks. I'm going to try to install my mom's router onto my computer so I can access the internet. When I do, I'll run that.
