Oh man, allow me to fully geek out here for a moment.

When I saw episode III, I got to see The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe trailer. I remember reading this in 4th grade and being enthralled by it. Then in class we also watched the old movie which left me less than unimpressed...

Anyway, the new movie looks damn awesome. I'm going to assume they're going to do the whole series too which is double damn awesome. I always felt that this series was superior to LotR in terms of imagination and creativity.

Some people at work who saw the trailer were making fun of it because I think they saw it as a kiddy movie but they really don't know what they're missing.

I remember watching the Narnia episodes when I was little. The Loin's name is Aslan, right?

Then I think there

Man, I saw the trailer for it when I went to Episode III opening night. I've been anxiously awaiting this movie for a couple years (ever since IMDB listed it as announced way back when). I found myself tearing up and crying through most of Episode III, but CON: TLTWATW started my tear ducts off for the night . I'm gonna go see it probably 10 times. One of my all-time favorite book series (one of the very few I actually enjoy reading). Looks like they're gonna do it right. Best part about the books: the dialogue and such is so natural that it should be very easy to put it right on the screen without changing much at all. Look at the BBC series and how well they did it. This'll be a million times better .

Strange, I've seen RoTS twice now and still haven't seen a trailer for this.

I think I've seen The Lion though, it sounds very familar ..

I never read it, but I watched the Chronicals of Narnia on BBC when they made the TV series. I loved it, I thought it was amazing to think such destinies were meant for little children. I was about the same age as Lucy when I was watching it, and I really took to the character.

C.S.Lewis has an incredible imagination, one that easily rivals his good friend J.R.R. Tolkien. I've always felt the Lewis's Naria stories were more accessible than Tolkien's The Hobbit, so I'm looking forward to seeing the film. I feel that Naria really plays to the inner-child's feeling of curiosity and adventure, and I think I'll love it this time around just as much as I loved watching it on TV during the ninties

You really should read the book . The BBC series was very accurate, but the books take the story so much further. They're pretty easy to read (I was able to read one a day and finish up in a week). Just make sure to read The Magician's Nephew as the 6th book, not as the 1st. It reads better that way. I don't care what anyone says, I truly don't believe Lewis wanted it to be read first.

Lewis didn't, it was the publishers who started printing them in that order.
It's like watching the Star Wars trilogy, for the first time, in order. By the time you get to the part where Vader tells Luke he's his father the surprise is already ruined.

I finally saw a trailer for this, and it does look good. I think I may have seen one of the old movies or part of the series or something, it just seems too familar.

Ziffski put it best though, it really is like the Lion King had sex with LoTR.

Be prepared for massive comparison of this movie and LotR shorty before it comes out and forever after.

They're both fantasy movie but the similarities pretty much ends there. It's no secret that C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien were good friends and exchanged many ideas between each other. They were part of this one writers guild but the name escapes me right now...

Narnia is more geared towards kids but that doesn't mean that adults can't enjoy it, far from it actually. That, and LotR is one centralized plot. CoN takes place around a few different stories.

And now that it was mentioned, it wasn't a movie I saw it was the tv series. I didn't care much for it because tv can only do so much when it comes to bringing this world to life.

A movie you might want to watch if you're a C.S. Lewis fan is Shadowlands. It only chronicles a short part of his life, but it's really a beautiful story. Not entirely non-fiction, but it's still a nice insight into C.S. Lewis and also his all too brief relashionship with his wife, Joy.

Argh, I appreciated TLTWATW a lot, but honestly, aside from The Horse and His Boy, Prince Caspian, and the sixth book (the one with the rings, you know, introduced the weird Narnia Physicist for the first time?), I wasn't really enthralled by the series. I hope the movies do them justice, though. The Last Battle left me slightly disappointed.

I read the books a long time ago (multiple times), so I was pretty excited when I saw the trailer. I don't know how it will turn out, hopefully, they'll stick to it and not going off in some other direction and ruin it. =p

I read all the books about 6 years ago. I read them in the correct order, and I thought they kicked ass. This movie better be great.

CS Lewis Chronology or Narnian Chronology? Because there is a big debate over which one is "right".

Now I dont know a single thing about Narnia and I never even heard of it until yesterday when I saw War of the Worlds.

The movie seems to me like an rpg come to life. Some kids get sent to a magical world where they become warriors and heros, at least thats what i figured from the trailer.

Im not sure if this move will be great, since I dont think 10 year old british kids make good heroes anywhere. However, I gotta say that I will watch it as soon as I can. The trailer just made it look amazingly cool.
