Ok, I'm having problems with this hex editor called Hex Workshop and I think its affecting the other hex editors as well. Ok, I go into my hex editor and change some bytes and save, but there is an error saying that access is denied and there is not enough temporary space in your computer or something like that. It worked before, but now it wont. I dont have much programs running. What should I do? Translhextion wont save either.

How full is your HD? If it's close to full, try to clean it up and free up some space, and definatly defrag.

Otherwise check your RAM usage. If you're short on RAM, close all programs you don't need open (even though I doubt this is the problem). If you're still short of RAM only other thing you can really do is buy more. But it's probably an HD problem.

if the file is being used in another program, say, an emulator, that's why you're getting your access error. But most emulators I've seen have no issue with this. They copy the file to memory or something.

My hard drive is about 1/2 way full. I didn't defrag for months and it still had the error with the game closed on the emulator. I'm going to start the defrag.

how many programs are you running at once? Sounds like a RAM issue to me, since RAM is temporary storage.

Hex workshop owns. Make sure the file you're trying to tweak isn't read-only.

I was wondering when someone would say that. It doesn't even need to be open for that matter. Just make sure your file isn't open somewhere else when you save it. That applies to basically everything.
