I was skeptical after seeing the new trailer at gametrailers with Link turning into a Wolf, and that goofy character riding him.

But after seeing a video review from IGN over the game (30 minutes), I still have high hopes.

One thing that seemed promising, was when the final question was asked: "In terms of length compared to Ocarina of Time, how would Twilight Princess measure up?"

Nintendo pretty much said, they want to make Twilight Princess everything OoT was, but far better in terms of not only in numbers, but gameplay elements, design, and story and everything else.

Unlike many, I was very displeased with Wind Waker (keep in mind Link to the Past is perhaps my favorite game of all time, so I am a big time Zelda follower and fan), but Twilight Princess seems like it'll bring back the real Link that I've been waiting for.

Anyone else excited about this game?

I am just reading the interview on Gamespot...

...wow... this game looks good... just really good...

I like what they are doing to this game. The story seems interesting yet nothing is known about it yet. The dungeons are going to rule. And hopefully there will be some really grasping parts that I will always want to see over and over again.

But I will wait a little before I see it... I have to see it in video (no, I am not spending over two hours to download a video clip... stupid dial-up...)

Yeouch.

Just to mention this: In the Conference demo, the Temple that was played in was the Forest Temple. Although not completely like the Forest Temple in OoT, it seems safe to say some Temples will have a similar feel to them, and a returning atmosphere (my head hurts, I put that into the best words that I possibly could ... hopefully it made sense ).

I too have been a big zelda fan and have been playing them sence they started
(I still have my gold verson of Adv. of Link)
Anyhoo I cant wate for this one and defently plan on getting it as soon as it comes out... the one that disappointed me the most was Majora's mask... it was just.. too off for me... wind waker was ok but not great.. I hope of all hopes that this one brings it back arround! Sounds like to me from the clip i saw on G4 from the E3 preview like they kept all the sound effects from OoT but enhanced them
and i was shocked when he truned into a wolf at first, but then they showed the wolf (who has a triforce mark on his forhead) taking on some baddies and ripping a guy a new one... It was pritty bad ass except for the weird looking thing on his back...
Link to the past was my fav also btw and i loved OoT

You stole my thread, bitch.

And, it looks so fucking amazing. Soooo fucking amazing.

What didn't you like about TWW, by the way? It had the same style as most of the other games (unless you're one of those "omfg celdaaz rolf kidd-e gfx1" things).

Well no, but do you seriously want to get me started? I mean, it's my opinion. I thought it was a bad game, isn't that simple?

Well, even though I wouldn't "prefer" Cel-Shading, that didn't prevent me from buying this game when it was pretty brand new and playing it.

But, in all honestly I did not like the theme of the game; the boat, the constant drifting, the game was utterly short and utterly easy, the storyline just didn't seem "cool", the music wasn't memorable when compared to say OoT, or MM, etc etc etc ...

I mean does it really matter whether or not I liked the game? I guess I can understand explaining myself as to why ...

But seriously, I liked MM a lot, when most people hate that game. So, I just differ with what I like I guess. To me, in my opinion, TWW was dissapointing.

I will admit the gameplay and new gameplay elements in TWW were nice. And it's even said in the 30 minute Preview Discussion video that this game is actually using the TWW engine, just ... heavily modified.

Oh yeah, I also LOVED Zelda II to death!

WHAT NOW BIATCHAS!?

But yeah, this game looks wicked. I hope it doesn't release "too" late into this year though, I'd like maybe an October release or something.

People hate MM? People merely dislike MM.

And, I just wondered why you didn't like it.

I also liked MM, just as much as I liked OoT. I mean, it was so indepth; I played it for months after I beat it, constantly finding new things, and learning more about the characters.

It still looks fantastic, even though I can't stop thinking of Link as a furry now

The only reservation I hold is that in an interview with Edge Magazine, Eiji Aonuma said that like Wind Waker, they'd be using the large open spaces to contribute to the grand feeling of the game. I'm worried about this statement, because the ridiculously long waits in WW did not make the game feel any more legendary to me, it was only a gimmick. I hope they think long and hard about how best to use the open plains, like Hyrule Field in Ocarina.

So, you saw the 30 minute video? I remember them saying that field where Link faught off those enemies on the "horse" was only like 30% of the majority of the Hyrule Field.

Well, I don't care how big the Field is and how empty it is. That's just one of the things I think lacked in TWW and took away that old "Zelda feeling"; having a huge landscape to cover on ground.

In older Zelda games, you walk, a lot, everywhere. And it was fun (especially Link to the Past), and I think OoT took that into the 3D realm perfectly. I enjoyed walking around, on foot and exploring the large lands of Hyrule.

I don't know, maybe that's just me, but that's how I've always felt about Zelda games and there "large open areas". I don't mind them a bit.

I feel weird now. I actually like the sailing and such.. although it was more enjoyed in the first playthrough. I liked it when I discovered some new area when I started to wander around. Thouh, on the second way through, I'd surf the internet while I'm sailing.. So I guess that was my reason for being ok with the ocean

I just hope there would be a cruise control option with the horse.. I don't think I'm gonna stand holding the up direction for such a long time.

I think the actual islands in Wind Waker were much better than the land in other places. It'd be nice to have a large expanse of land that was full of stuff as interesting to explore as those were.

Or they could just make an occasional medium sized battle spring up while you're traveling, instead of Hyrule Feild's choice of vast nothingness or pathetic pair of skeletons.

Wait, wait wait.

You like long expanses of ground as opposed to ocean?

In any case, I think long expanses of land do make the game more epic. I mean, look at OoT; Hyrule Field was pretty small, and when you think of it, the Gerudo's were like, a few hundred feet away from Hyrule Castle, which they opposed.

In any case, I don't care about giant expanses, as long as there's an easy way to travel across them. And Aonuma hinted that you would be able to fly, somehow. <3

Excited.

But the one thing that really stuck out as "bad" for me concering Windwaker was how damn long it took to finally see some action. I spent about two hours of boredom before I finally got to the Roost, the first playable dungeon. (I don't count Forsaken Fortress because that was basically Metal Link Solid).

I hope TP is a very long game with loads of replay ability.

Well, considering how much you could explore in TWW, they'll probably add a lot of the same thing. Actually, in most Zelda games you could explore beyond just the main "quest"; however, this only really showed in OoT, and a LOT in MM. TWW had just as much of this as MM did, with all the islands.
