I think he said along the lines of the new Smash bros being online capable. And he also said that he tries to release Smash bros with revolution.

...I just hope they won't lag with the release dates too much thought. Or you all catch me up in level of expertise.

Seriously, that has destroyed my doupts with Nintendo.

On top of that, I seriously love the system's design.

anyone know how exactly that works..? where do you dl it to? and how much is that going to cost, I cant imagine it being free, thats just a way of saying here, dl it, find a way to copy it to a cartridge, and go sell all the rare games..but on the other hand, it is kick ass to be able to play all my old favorites, without have to resort to emulators.

Well, they probably won't cost more than a few dollars. Depending on what game. The bigger game, the more it should cost. Maybe you get a few games for free whenever you buy a game or so. We see.

I can see them making a few NES games on there for free, but not much else. And I honestly pay 10-20$ or so to play Starfox64 and Earthbound on my revolution.

Well, the gaming network will go through Gamespy. Maybe Nintendo offers the games on their own servers.

Bet it won't take too long time until people figure out how to lure the revolution to execute homebrew's either...

I was wondering that as well, its cool to be able to DL but where would we put it? Does the system have a HD or something? Then theres price, i dont want to pay full price for old games.

Rev. has alot of hope, i cant wait to see the controller!!!

Read the article I posted earlier

"The system boasts 512 megabytes of internal flash memory"

"Easy expansion: A bay for an SD memory card will let players expand the internal flash memory."

...I wonder how much thoose SD memory cards will cost. There may be a chanche that I already have one. xD

Only downside of today - no games/videos although HINTS were dropped that we might see a bit of that at the show itself, which would be a smart move... maybe that's what the "Club Revolution" picture from the E3 floor is for, no? Reservation only and all, since it's a chic club?

Who needs a killer app when you have a killer FEATURE. There's going to be people who only buy the Revolution for the game library, and that'll still make Nintendo happy. I read one comment from someone who works at a game store and she said that she mentioned the Revolution to twelve customers - if they were taking pre-orders now, ten of them would have jumped on it.

I think Nintendo did what they had to do - if you can't show games (or if you're delaying that a little bit) then tease gamers to no end and make some nice little announcements. And I think they did just that. They did the best possible job they could without showing all their cards.

Oh, and the Game Boy Micro will sell since it's... well... smaller than an iPod Mini, apparently. Style sells.

Ziff: Nintendo has the best looking console by far with the shiny jet black design (and other colors too! Come on, British Racing Green or Red Ferrari...), then Sony (little strange but I like the color choices) and finally Microsoft (faceplates... eh).

Kitten Yiffer: The pricing will be interesting. *MY* guess would be that a few games will be free (lord knows that given how many times Nintendo's included it on GBA games, Mario Bros. SHOULD be one of those; maybe a game of the month as well), and others would cost money. Maybe $0.99 - $2.99 per game depending on the system. Pretty affordable. Or they could do package deals, sell cards with $10/$20 on them, include a free game download with each Revolution game purchased, etc. As for the flash memory, I'm not sure how that'll work or if there'll be another storage method, but one would think memory cards won't be needed if you just stay with the flash memory.

No, the PS3 has the George Foreman Lean Mean Fat Grillin' Machine look to it. Total turn off.

All of them suck, the Nintendo is just the least offensive to the eyes. The face plates on the X360 (and the possibility of new colours) makes it the second least offensive. And the PS3. If it weren't for that weirdly rounded top part and Spiderman 2 font...it would be rather sexy.

For killer apps. They better...BETTER have a full fledged 3D pokemon adventure, online.

Or else Ziff will purchase all of Nintendo's stock and force the R&D to make the god damned game.

I must say, the reason for Nintendo's "emulation is evil and should die" stance is now frighteningly clear.

It'd be awesome if we were to see translations of some games that never made it Stateside officially (OMG Ys I & II plz), but I doubt it'll happen.

Well, they mainly did show off games that we knew about already. Thought, the new Zelda could actually increase the sales of revolution abit. And backwards combitality will make sure that the Gamecube won't die a quick death, but rather slowly. Devolopers won't be afraid to continue devoloping for Gamecube a little further... I expect to see tech demos. Otherwise I get disapointed.

...I wonder of the prototype they did show on the conference did contain electronics or if it was a empty shell.

Dunno, I wouldn't rewrite a flash memory too many times personally. Then, a memory card uses flash too I think...

If Mario bros isn't free, I bet that it will be the least purchased of the offered games XD. I do like Mario bros, but they could at least have added some variaty.

Emptyeye: Quite ironic, as Nintendo will be using emulators themself. We should say "illegal emulation is evil". I have seen Nintendo talking about emulators themself in their own ports. Such as ocarina of time. And I would love unreleased games, I would like to see Starfox2 finished and emulated. (not it's going to happen... thought I would love a Starfox1+2 remake with better graphics for DS or something but I doubt that happens too )

Ziff: There is a small Pok

what could be a really nice alternative to having to pay for the games themselves is making it so you can get 1 or 2 games for free each time you purchase a revolution game, this would make it much easier then actually spending money on the old games, and nintendo wouldnt be loosing any money, but no one ever seems to do anything the easy way, just a way to get them more money.

Point system!

Based on rentals from participating retailers, purchases of games, etc. you get "Nintendo bucks" which can be redeemed online for downloads. Ziff's idea, patent pending.

I have to agree with Ziff about the Xbox 360, and it's "look". Personally, I just don't like the whole concave idea ...

Emptyeye: Or, Seiken Densetsu 3! =D

Darth Dcahren: Honestly, I don't like that idea. Sure it wouldn't be too bad financially for Nintendo, but as a gamer I really wouldn't want to have to buy a Revolution game to be able to get those older games. Maybe having that as an alternative, like you said, then yes that might be cool.

As long as Nintendo doesn't put in a huge focus for "connectivity" between systems via link cable or something, I'm happy. (Never got into that with the GC and GBA)

yeah it definently wouldnt be the only way to buy them, but it would be a good thing to have as an extra bonus when buying revolution games...

It would definitely be an alternative and offering 1-2 games per Revolution game purchased (or $5 credit or something like that) would be nice. Nintendo wouldn't be stupid enough to make that the only way to get the games, as you KNOW there'd be people buying the console, bringing it home and picking up $100 worth of games online.

Fire Emblem 1-6, NOW!

I know I'm a nintendo fanboy, yes I'm a fanboy to a certain extent, I hate Microsoft (and Sony to a lesser degree). I really just can't wait, the only things I plan to get, since I'll have a job, is the Revolution first, followed by a PS3. God, I wish you didn't have to tell me this so soon, I still remember getting my GC on opening night...

I don't necessarily hate MS... after all, I'm running Windows XP right now. I just don't like their gaming philosophy and the fact that the Xbox has been typecast as a FPS/"extreme" system. Just doesn't cater to my tastes as a gamer.

Yeah I didnt like the lack of RPG's and really good adventure games on the xbox, it was mostly sports and FPS's I always liked the ps's because they always offered every genre of games, and alot of high quality rpg's...

Droolage:
  • Downloading old games
  • Looks awesome
  • CRAPLOADS OF FREE ONLINE PLAY Plus, Nintendo has MARIO KART!
  • Official support for user-developed software would PWN (Though I wouldn't really count on it).
  • Built-in flash memory expandable via SD card. Bye-bye memory cards and HDD upgrades.

Suckage:
  • Needs an add-on for DVDs? Yet, it uses DVDs for the games.
  • Charges for downloading the games? (Gamecube/N64 I could understand, but... Even worse if it's pay-per-play and/or requires a credit card, that would just kill the whole idea IMO.)

Questionage:
  • Could it play Gamecube games via wifi?
  • Game Boy emulation? Maybe upload it to DS?

Personally I'm just glad that this destroys my fear that 'revolution' doesn't refer to something revolutionary, but rather something that rotates.

Now what'd really be awesome is if they had Crono Trigger with the PSX version's enhancements. Or Diddy Kong Racing online. *creams pants at thought*

Also, interesting note, I thought of a really tiny Game Boy a long time ago, before GBC even came out. I never mentioned it to anyone though.
