Quote from www.psphacker.com: SKIPPY911 and AloneTrio have broken major ground in the seven week old PSP hacking scene. They've ported a common Sega Genesis / Mega Drive emulator for the PC to the Playstation Portable, another fine addition to the ever-growing list of PSP hacks. Genesis backup games (or ROMs - Read Only Memories) can be booted in a self launching program from the memory stick. SKIPPY911 commented, "With Gens' source, it's incredibly easy to port it to any console. It takes time more than anything. ... We figured if they can [port Gens] to the GCN, why not the PSP?" AloneTrio was too busy playing Sonic the Hedgehog to comment. "[AloneTrio] really wanted to do it so HE could play old Mega Drive games. It's close to bug free so he's more focused on having fun with it than other things" SKIPPY911 adds, "I still want to add more cool filters and 32X support." The emulator and ROMs go through a program and are converted into a self-booting file which can be played from the "GAMES" menu on your PSP. The emulator works almost flawlessly like the original Gens. [/QUOTE] Damn, that is GOOD. |

Not actually owning one, I don't see why it would be a problem. But if I can find one, I'll try.

When you see pictures of games being supposedly emulated on a PSP, just remember that you can put videos onto the PSP.

The resolution doesn't look right, it should be more stretched on that display (First Sonic screen is a dead giveaway)

I don't think we're quite at the "make great emulators for the PSP" stage just YET. We'll be there soon enough but this smells pretty fake. (Remember when everyone wanted a GP32 just because of its programming/emulation capabilities? ) |

Hazarding a guess: GENS doesn't run whatever game that is (I can't think of what the name is)?

What about the fact some of the games are being played without anyone touching the buttons? Or are those part of the wait at the title screen for a demo type things?

You, Someguy, are correct! You can't do some of these things without pushing the buttons! Well, last one is the only impossible one.
