The woman was sleeping at her sisters house, the Sister didn't know that there was a problem between the husband
and the woman and so she allowed him into her house, While in her house the husband went into the room turned
on the gas and left.
If thats no where near I think i'm gonna need a hint.

The husband turned on the gas, yadda yadda yadda...he also sealed up the flue so that the gas went into the house instead of out through the chimney.

LA.... why... you were so close.

Yes he did get the fire out, and that is part of the answer, but HOW DID HE MANAGE TO GAS THE GIRL.

Oh and before anything else is said, the sister has nothing to do with this.

well she was in the room and the gas ended up filling the room so she was breathing gas rather than air.

Well, since I dont wasnt to keep this puzzle going in th ewrong direction, and LA had the closest answer, hes getting the points and we are MOVING ON!

ANSWER: Mr husband here waited till her wife turned on the fire. The husband turned off the gas, putting the fire out, then put the gas back on, therefore gassing her to death.

There are a total of 6 people.(If you count that the relation also has to be there
ie the mother has to have the daughter or son there to be classified as the mother)
This can be done in three ways

1st Way:

There is one man (acting as father and uncle)
One woman (acting as mother and aunt)
Two girls (one acting as daughter, one acting as niece both acting as sisters)
Two boys (one acting as son, one acting as nephew, both acting as brothers)

2nd Way:
There are 2 men (Both are brothers to each other, Both are fathers)
There are 2 women (Both are sisters to each other, Both are mothers)
1 boy (acting as a cousin and a son)
1 girl (acting as a cousin and a daughter)

If you dont count the fact that for there to be a mother there has to be a daughter or sone there also
etc then there are two people:

One woman (acts as mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and aunt)
One man (acts as father, son, brother, nephew, cousin and uncle)

4?

1 man - boys uncle, girls father and womans brother
1 woman - girls aunt, boys mother and mans sister
1 girl - mans daughter, boys cousin and womans niece
1 boy - womans son, girls cousin and mans nephew

From this hopefully you see just two families of two, the others are obviously not at the reunion.

The choice

A man is captured by particularly vicious natives. The wise chieftian gve him a very strange proposition. The way he would die would be chosen by the truth of his next statement. If the statement is true, he would be pushed off a cliff, and if it was false, he would be fed to lions. What statement could the man make to force teh chieftian to let him go?

Well I might as well scab some points here.
The logic is that if he asks 'will I be fed to the lions' and the chief says no then he isnt to be fed to the lions. If he says yes the statement must be false for the lions to be fed by him, of course this cancels out any chance to be fed to the lions.
Hopoefully that explains it.
