Did anyone tune in at all?

I was fixed to my seat here, seeing who could register third..but still.

Favorite teams make it? Any bubbles burst, and go Gators.

*looks at clock*

Posting this BEFORE the show starts, nice.

I hope Vermont gets a #14 seed but I'd think they'll go to #15. Certainly not to a play-in.

I'm out of sync.

I had a Saint Patties day parade today that I marched in, got my internal clock stuck on one two one two one two etc

But, all I care about is PC and UF. Hometown (PC) and favorite Florida.

PC = Pacific?

I only pay attention to college b-ball at this time of year. I consider my "hometown" team to be Vermont, since Plattsburgh is Division III or something like that.

Plus Vermont wasn't even tipped to win America East, but Boston U crashed out so it's all good.

Actually, Providence College, a Rhode Island team.

They did good thanks to all american Ryan Gomes. He's the big man, and the big point scorer.

Oh yes, my neighbor was the reporter that started it all off. Good guy, too... he wouldn't do anything like that maliciously.

Are they announcing the men's brackets yet? I know CBS is doing their show now, but ESPN's doesn't start until 7... Either way, UConn's gonna be either the fourth #1 or a high #2. And they've earned it, too. No bad losses, and they've avenged most of the good ones that they could.

Colleen: How about some dap for Coppenrath? First game back from a broken wrist and he puts up 43 in crushing... uhm, whoever.

You know what, I have no idea how people follow college ball.

There are those experts who rattle of these names, and I just have no idea how they can amass so much info on the obscurest of players.

"Johann Resztienmann of UNGDF scored 32 with 14 assists..." I mean....jeez

That was made up too, JR there.

Oof. Well, we know where UConn is. And Vermont. Against each other... 2-15 matchup in the Phoenix bracket.

Ouch. Well, I knew we'd get a #15 seed, but... Ye gods, this isn't going to be pretty.

Now, to still go ahead and predict a Vermont win in the brackets or not.

And Coppenrath crushed Maine. Should have been Boston U, but Stony Brook upset them... So that kinda killed the suspense right there.

Don't complain. #5 is probably pretty good - were you guys even in it last year? I can't recall.

Can't argue with the top seeds though - Duke is Duke, Stanford won the Pac-10 which cemented their claim, Kentucky had a solid season and St. Joseph's deserved it anyways despite their chokejob in the playoffs. If you go unbeaten, that has to count for something.

Yeah, but we were doing REALLY good down the stretch and then just fell apart.

We haven't been in a long time. Our last good player I think was God Shamgod. He's the last I really remember.

How can you NOT remember God Shammgod? Especially with a name like that. He hasn't even had a whiff of the NBA, though. Nice to see the Big East get some respect... tied with Conference USA, the ACC, and the SEC with six teams each.

And yeah, go ahead and pick Vermont. UConn's only a Final Four contender and all. Okafor's as healthy as he's gonna be, and now Villanueva and Boone can actually fill in for him if need be.

My complaints:

1) Texas Tech is only a 8 seed, despite being 22-10 on one of the toughest schedules in the country. However, I think they're in a good bracket, and the teams most likely to be them in their bracket would be Wake or OK St. I think OK St. will win that region, and I think Tech can make it to the Elite Eight provided all goes well.

2) Colorado finished 4th in the Big 12 and didn't make it. 'Nuff said. We all should be mad about that.

3) Maryland, despite only having 18 wins, and only making it in because they won the ACC tourney, got a 4 seed. HOW??? And Tech's an 8 seed?!?

4) Pitt is a 3 seed. UConn is a 2 seed. Pitt beat UConn during the regular season, and finished ahead of them in the Big East standings.

5) Many mid-majors, mainly Gonzaga and St. Joe's, got higher seeds than deserved. Look at their schedules, and then look at who they lost to. Really, St Joe's deserves a 2, maybe even a 3 seed, and Gonzaga deserves a 5, 6, maybe even a 7 seed.

6) The whole selection process is politics. This should be changed. Maybe we should just have a tourney where EVERYONE is in. Then we wouldn't have people like me bitching as much about the process. It would only take 2 games to get the field down to 64, so why not?

Well, that's what made me mad, now, here's my final four picks:

1) Kentucky: Their bracket is easy, and the only team I think that could beat them here is Georgia Tech. That won't be happening though.

2) Oklahoma State: They have a deep bench, and are loaded at almost every position. They have only 3 losses on one of the toughest schedules in the nation. They have vets. They have talent. They are smart with the basketball. National champs? Perhaps.

3) Texas: Duke may have more talent, but aside from Duhon, at guard, Duke is young. Texas has more experience than anyone in their bracket, and has played smarter all year long. Experience will be the key in this bracket.

4) North Carolina State: They have talent, and they did well on a tough schedule. UConn may be just as good as them, but Okafor, when he comes back, will still not be 100%, and thus, UConn will be ailing. And Stanford, although they had a remarkable season with only one loss, was in a conference that was mediocre at best, and their schedule was not strong enough to prepare them for someone like NC St.

OK St. vs. Texas in the final, OK St. wins. Yes, I like the Big 12. So sue me.

Obviously, none of this will probably happen, but this is what I think will happen.

My wish: Vermont 74-73 UConn, Coppenrath with 36.

What'll probably happen... Vermont 47-96 UConn.

Maryland beat Duke and beating one of the #1 seeds is good when it comes time for the final rankings. I think they were getting in anyways if they didn't win, but they'd be a #8-9 seed.

Did I mention that I hate Duke yet on this board? No? Well, now would be that time. I hate Duke. I hope they lose to Alabama State or whoever they play.

BTW: I'm picking Gonzaga in the men's and PSU (which will be my college this September) in the women's.
