| Yea, and I'm sure Ace did that out of the blue on his own accord...or was it that a certain someone had a bearing on this whole case, eh Tom? Ace himself gets constantly used as it is and I've known this for a long time. Now is no exception. As for job, yea, it's voluntary...but who else would do it? Obviously, there's going to have to be staff to maintain the board. And give me a reason to re-open this thread...because as it stands...I don't see any real point of continuing that would make things better. All I see here is the start of a flame war. Any staff that has good reason, you can re-open this. Personally, I want Ace to do it...and I want some answers. |

| I'd pretty much have to agree with Hiryuu's points. I think that when we first had this argument many months ago, the correct actions were taken and everyone got to say what they felt they needed to say. So in theory, there's no reason why anyone should be bringing this back up, or even unbanning Legion so he could say that stuff for that matter. Negative points to whoever made that call. Like Hiryuu said, this is only a message board. Nothing more, nothing less. Just a bunch of code, graphics and text all mixed together. The board's doing just fine without you and I think this is your cue to do something else with your life. Go to another message board, work on your blog, figure out something to do... just not here. Can't spell it out more clearly than that. And trust me, if we all took being staff that seriously, the board would have crumbled years ago. Tom: Nice to see you show your face around here again; sadly, it's with the exact same argument you brought up the last time this thread appeared. Unless Anya, Colleen, Jesper and Hiryuu are destaffed, and massive changes are made, this board will remain a shithole. I'm only replying because this is a good thread made by someone I consider a friend, and who should never have been banned, like knuck. Members like Legion and knuck are banned, yet members like Trapster are free to spam and post all the stupidity they like. Where is the justice? Let's play "deconstruct this paragraph", OK? 1) So your solution is to demote the four admins who are the *most* active on the board, who do a lot of the work and who, in the case of Jesper, actually updates the board. 2) Legion was banned for crossing the line one too many times. He's a classic example of someone who's had way too many "final chances" and ended up blowing them all. 3) ...The fact that you're defending knuck floors me, but I'll take you up on that challenge; he's immature, contributed little if anything to the board, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a knuck fan club around here. Yes, Trapster's a work in progress, but I'd gladly take someone who might have problems expressing himself at times over a flamer/brat anyday. I wish Acmlm would respond with more than just words, but he doesn't even care about the board anymore. None of the staff left respects him anymore. Especially Colleen. He thinks he runs the board now, and in a way, he does. Maybe that's why it's a shithole. Round 2! 1) Well, you're not around anymore, but if you were you'd find out that we've been TRYING to get Acmlm to post on the board more often. Hell, when Hiryuu organized the staff shuffle he wasn't doing it without Acmlm there. If it wasn't for Acmlm, we wouldn't have a board, and if he was here more often we'd love it to bits. 2) Gee, where did that respect go that I thought I (and the rest of the staff) had... I'm sure it didn't go very far. 3) OK, so I run the board now? So this is Colleen's Board and we have a nice picture of a green cleric in the banner and the default color scheme is green and I'm ruling the board as if I'm Hitler. I... don't think so. I end up doing a lot of stuff around here but that's also because I'm the most active admin. Kinda makes sense that someone who's around all the time would end up doing a lot of things. But don't think for one second I run the show, because I don't think I could handle it for starters. Dracoon: We warn everyone who deserves to be warned, unless we can tell from a mile away that they're lamers and they're never, ever going to change. Plus if you already rack up a few warnings, you should know by now that the writing's on the wall if you don't cool it. I'd like to think that we're fair when it comes to that stuff. But you know what? I'll agree with you guys on one thing. Master M, don't post if you have nothing worthwhile to say. ADDITION: Tom, the Duckcha thing was my fault. I was under the impression your original account was banned from the board, which wasn't the case. I apologize. See, I'm not a heartless bastard like you'd assume I am. |

The rest has just been pointing out FACTS. Why close it? Because you're afraid about people voicing their opinions. You're afraid of an uprising - a coup, as it were. You don't want to see your little stranglehold on the board slip away. |

| I would just like to bring up the fact that Acmlm did NOT inform the staff of his actions. When a banned member is suddenly and *inexplicably* unbanned, what are they supposed to do? If Acmlm had informed the staff, then they would've known what had happened and thus could've respected Acmlm's action, but considering they were not informed, what were they supposed to do? If I were faced with a banned member being inexplicably unbanned, I would ban again too, frankly, because I would have NO idea why that happened, and for all I know it could be due to malicious action, not staff unbanning. Because Acmlm didn't let the other staff know, I don't think they can really be blamed for their action in rebanning Legion. I'm sure if Acmlm had let them know, they would've respected the decision. |
