I never noticed it before but Pipe Maze is shaped like three giant pipes. Wow... I'm observant.

Castle of Koopa? I always thought it was Dark Land... I guess that was for SMAS.

No they don't. In the credits, everything ends in Land. Grass Land, Desert Land, etc. up to Pipe Land and Dark Land.

In the original SMB3, I mean. Could've been changed for other version.

It was changed in SMAS, Kyouji. I believe the names listed in the poll are accurate for the SMAS version; haven't beaten it in a while, though.

World 3's my favorite.

holy crap, can't decide, BRAIN ANEURYSM!

gun to the head, pipe land it is! it had the strongest hold on me as a kid. more exploring is involved. and who could forget the DUHN DUHN DUHH moment when Bowesr kidnapped the princess?

World 7 shaped like pipes? didn't know that. World 8 map 1 was shaped like a koopa skull. and warp zone was kinda-sorta-maybe shaped like australia.

Dark Land is pretty cool, especially with the tanks and boats and whatnot. The only thing I hate about is the dark part with the near-impossible fort. I've had SMB3 for since before SNES came out and I never could beat it until just this year. I just always used a cloud.

About the other name, now that I think about it, I do remember seeing "Castle of Koopa" on the game.

Peardian, search for P-switches inside that castle. They can "reveal" some nice things, and, yes, I know there are at least two of them (usually infinite, since they come back when you use doors, but that's not the question )

About SMB3:

Ice Land - I like the levels, despite the little boring NES backgrounds here with these diagonal lines; but the third mini fortress is really impressive, in Ice Land, there are hammer suits and there is that second autoscroller level 6-8, one of my most favourite levels in SMB3

I chose world 3. I think world 3 is great because it has awesome levels and I love the water levels and music involved. Also, it is kool how you can get in a boat and move out through the sea to come across Mushroom Houses

Thanks, Surlent, but I already found out how to beat it. Turns out I kept passing the switch door thinking I already used it. I decided to use it only after spending most of the time limit looking.

I always found it cool that Big Island was shaped like a giant turtle.

Surlent- yeah, that castle was great. I loved the "elevator" room where mario had a showdown with the boos.

peardian- i used to always cloud it over pipelands water level and p-wing it through darklands airship level. imagine my disgruntlement (a word?) when i tried to p-wing it over the water level (7-4?). the game designers tease you with being able to fly over the wall only to find you cant go much further than that.

Pipe maze had a good mix of levels, and in comparison to the rest of the game, the difficulty level was good (though the whole game was easy). World 6 would be my next choice. Dark Land just didn't do it for me, for whatever reason.

The no-number Piranha Plant level in Pipe Land was hard. Luckily, I discovered the trick. When paused, the little Nipper things keep going, so I just paused until the ground was clear.
