| Hey. Anyone can accept this challenge, it'll be a one-on-one against my newest character, Cyberaptor! (Profile in the making.) ----- A velociraptor stood in the middle of an arena in the SB complex it had reserved for fighting. The velociraptor was not any ordinary dinosaur; it was wearing futuristic armor, and had a computer pack on its back. On part of the armor that covered its chest, there was a small computer screen, which was thinking at the moment. Where claws would be on the velociraptor were silver gauntlets, and protruding from these were much larger, transparent magenta claws. Cyberaptor sniffed the air, sensing its challenger approaching. Then the computer screen on its chest spoke, with a British accent. Computer: Location analysis complete, Cy. The temperature is 70 degrees in this outdoor, roofless arena. There is a 0% chance of rain for this fight, which should deprive you of that desired MTD advantage. However, parts of the walls are crumbling; there are numerous small boulders surrounding the border. This could help you out. Cyberaptor made a barking noise, and pointed forward, at the approaching figure. Computer: Ah, here they come! Let's go, Cyberaptor! We'll show them the might of Cybercity! | A humanoid figure in a high-tech armor was in front of Cyberaptor. The armor was strange... it was almost identical to Master Chief's but was black with an orange visor and there was a strange aura around it... Zerodius: "Hi mortal. I am your challenger, Zerodius. I'm here to test the power of the creatures from Cybercity and see if they're worthy of joining the Hunters... and you seem to be an excellent test subject." Zerodius's visor turned red. Zerodius: "If you believe you are ready... then go on! Do your worst, reptile!" |

| Cyberaptor stood where he was and made no motion to attack. The computer screen on his chest spoke. Computer: Greetings, Zerodius. This is Cyberaptor, Guardian of Cybercity. We have no desire to join you organization, but we accept you as our opponent. Now, have at you! Cyberaptor made a fierce roar. When he finished, a small metal stick folded out from his metal pack. It aimed itself at Zerodius, and emitted a green beam of light, which covered Zerodius from side to side. The beam was harmless, as it was a scanning beam, but by doing this Cyberaptor hoped to gain information about Zerodius, such as weak points. The stick retracted again after a few seconds. This was all Cyberaptor could do in one turn... |

| =SCAN COMPLETED Target identified as an incredibly advanced armor suit. Technology level beyond anything ever sighted before. No life-signs detected... the armor is definitely empty and yet the armor is functionning. No form of artificial brain present. No explanations found on why the armor can be functionning without anything controlling it and without it having any self-control systems. Right arm is in truth a mechanical cannon that emitts strange radiations. A strange bio-mechanical blade was also found. Blade made of unknow alloy and seems to somehow emitt dark power. A strange crystal device is within the armor's chest. Crystal is emitting an incredibly toxic semi-liquid substance: direct contact with substance for more than 0.00000000000000012 second is instantly fatal with maximum protective gear. Scan results inconclusive. Threat level according to scan results: Omega Use extreme caution and firepower. Chances of victory, let alone survival, at 10% and dropping. =END OF SCAN Zerodius laughed... Zerodius: "I hope you found the results rather interesting... especially the part about the crystal and deadly substance." Zerodius *using telepathy*: "You have no idea who you are about to fight... I will be unlike any being you ever faced before. I'm sure you'll be impressed... Now, I will begin this fight." Suddenly, Zerodius's visor flashed red and it seemed as if a gigantic being entirely made of light had appeared in front of Cyberaptor for a second... Then, Zerodius attacked... but unfortunately, Cyberaptor's senses could not grasp the form of the attack. It was an attack that couldn't be seen, heard, or felt. | Computer: Weaahaahhaha90-dgd983sdf#$732001 - !!! SYSTEM ERROR COUNTER-VIRUS IN EFFECT STANDBY Cyberaptor seemed extremely impressed by Zerodius' attack, if not thoroughly amused as well. You couldn't be sure by judging the facial expressions of a velociraptor, though. In truth, only the toughest cyber attacks could have any effect on Cyberaptor; his sole purpose for existence is to prevent data corruptions, and destroy those who would inflict them. Nonetheless, for the turn his computer was out, but it was fast on the way of adapting to the sort of attack - Zerodius couldn't count on having that attack work a second time, ever. Cyberaptor rotated his wrist in a sort of way, and the transparent magenta blades sprouting from his gauntlets extended to 1 1/2 feet long. Solely relying on his agile raptor grace, he ran at Zerodius and jumped at him in a fury of claw swipes. Also, the blades could have negative effects on any computer system present in the target, though there didn't seem to be any from the scan... |

| Strangely enough, Zerodius stood there and let all of the attacks strike him. There was not a single scratch on Zerodius's armor. In fact, no damage was dealt. =URGENT SCAN DATA UPDATE Aura-class shielding detected. Target is invulnerable until shielding has been disabled. Aura-class shielding is not very powerful: a charged attack should pierce it. Any other attack is a mere annoyance. Combos have no effect since each strike is blocked individually by the Aura. =END OF UPDATE Zerodius: "OK... I admit it. My Aura shield is a bit... unfair. Wait a minute, now..." Thr thrusters in Zerodius's feet activated as he dashed away from Cyberaptor. Then, Zerodius proceeded to shut down his Aura shield. Zerodius: "Let's see... I believe I did shut down all of my cheap battle systems now." If he could have, Zerodius would have smiled. Zerodius: "This body is resistant to viruses since while it does have computer systems... it's CPU chip doesn't work normally. It's neither truly active or sentient. It's just used as a mean of controlling the other systems of this body." Zerodius paused. Zerodius: "You must have figured out by now that I'm anything but a natural being, right? Anyway... I will give you another chance at attempting a first strike." |

| Zerodius: "Nice move..." Zerodius pointed his right arm at the incoming blast and his visor glowed red as he locked his aim on Cyberaptor. Zerodius: "...but not good enough!" His right arm transformed into a cannon covered with some kind of black liquid. Then, Zerodius fired three discharges of dark energy. The first was obliterated by the light beam, the second slowed it down... and when the third struck the beam, both the beam and the dark energy disappeared. Zerodius: "Now it's my turn." The black liquid disappeared and the arm cannon took the form of a rocket launcher. Then, Zerodius's chest glowed as he infused the missile within his arm cannon with electrical magical energy. Zerodius: "Have fun, mortal!" Zerodius fired a single magically charged missile. The missile was flying at medium-slow speed but had advanced homing capabilities. The missile was quite stronger than a regular energy blast (DUH! It's a missile)... but it was still a bit weak for a missile. The main threat from the missile was it's advanced homing capabilities and the fact that becease of the magical enhancement, the missile would maybe scramble Cyberaptor's systems on impact or even worse, stun him for a while. |

| Cyberaptor laughed. Or perhaps he coughed. Either way, he was pleased that this type of attack was sent his way. Cyberaptor leaped into the air, and as he fell back down to the ground, a jetpack activated! Cyberaptor flew backward, away from the missle, and a small antanna appeared from above the jetpack. With a flash of green light, the missle suddenly dissappeared! There was no trace of it at all. Still, there was the problem of electricity flying at Cyberaptor. He flew out of the way of this and landed promptly, much farther away from Zerodius now. Computer: More power! Cyberaptor's arm glowed white. He was charging his light beam. |

| OFF: As I'm reading trought my last threads in the Simbattle forum concerning Zerodius's fights... I begin to wonder... Is Feedback cheap? Well, I received no complaints yet but well... ____________________________________________________________________ Zerodius: "I guess it's time to use my infamous anti-charge spell!" A sphere of chaotic energy appeared in Zerodius's left hand. Zerodius: "FEEDBACK!!!" Zerodius thrown the sphere at Cyberaptor! As the sphere was halfway there, it shattered, sending a real wall of chaotic energy at Cyberaptor!... and since the sphere was basically flying at a speed more than 4 times the speed of sound, the chances of evading or blocking the spell were next to none. The spell would do no damage... in fact, Cyberaptor wouldn't even flinch. However, if Cyberaptor had been charging energy in any way, shape, or form (technological or magical, doesn't mather), ALL of the energy Cyberaptor had charged would transform into negative energy and returned into his body... In short, he would lose his charge AND suffer as much damage as he had put energy into the charge. |

| Nah, it isn't cheap. I like it, actually. I oughta learn it... --- The computer Cyberaptor wields is very intelligent. I mean, this thing is REALLY smart. It is smart enough to calculate the trajectory of every single atomic particle on half of the surface of an exceptionally large star for one year in little under a millisecond. As such, it saw Feedback coming and immediately dropped the charge, mere nanoseconds before being overcome by the spell. Cyberaptor was unharmed. Computer: You tricky devil... A whirling noise came from the pack on Cyberaptor's back, and he vanished from sight! Cyberaptor was using a cloaking device, but it did not stop at making him invisible to light; he also became invisible to any known spectrum in this dimension. This made him quite hard to detect... |

Zerodius's visor changed color... it became light-blue, almost white. Zerodius looked around... Zerodius: "You may be invisible... but you can still be heard... and I happen to have a visor that translate sound into visual signals!" It was only a matter of time before Zerodius spotted Cyberaptor. While he was looking around, he charged energy into his Arm Blaster and began to fill his left hand with magical energy just in case... |

| Cyberaptor: Grrgh. He reappeared, finding the cloaking useless so long as Zerodius had his nifty sound visor. Still, Zerodius was charging an attack, giving Cyberaptor a chance to charge his light beam again without having to worry about Feedback being used in the next turn. So, Cyberaptor charged it... |

| Zerodius: "You seem confident... a bit too much I could say... or maybe am I the one who is over-confident? Whatever the case... one thing is sure. This will not prove to be an easy battle for you." Zerodius's visor returned to the plain normal visor and then, he locked his aim on Cyberaptor. Once his aim was locked, Zerodius unleashed his magical power!... but surprisingly, Cyberaptor was not the target. Zerodius had struck himself with a beneficial spell. Zerodius: "TRIPLE!!!" Zerodius was bathed in a blue light for a while and it seemed as if nothing had happened... but Zerodius knew otherwise. Zerodius's Arm Blaster began to transform. It became shorter but also larger and it became overcharged with purple electricity. Zerodius: "Now for my non-magical attack!" Zerodius fired once. It sent a big, fast-moving sphere of electricity. The sphere had medium homing capabilities and would inflict a somewhat large amount of damage... but the main purpose of the sphere was to stun and scramble the mechanical systems, not to inflict raw damage. As such, if Cyberaptor is struck, he won't be able to act for a single turn and his mechanical systems may be knocked offline, forcing him to reboot. | Cyberaptor quickly launched the charged light beam at Zerodius soon after Zerodius shot the wave beam. Before the attack hit Cyberaptor, the antenna folded out of his pack again and emitted a green light. Suddenly, a mysterious jousting stick appeared out of mid-air, and fell into Cyberaptor's claws! Cyberaptor swung it quickly at the projectile that was heading toward him, hoping to create a shield of cybernetic energy...but failed. He was blasted with the energy, and was frozen stiff for a time...his computer was utterly unharmed, and no re-booting was necessary. A bit too late, a spherical green force field appeared around him in his frozen state, and remained just until he unfroze... | |||

| Zerodius: "GOTCHA!" Zerodius did not even bothered to dodge the light beam. The damage he would suffer is minor compared to the strategic opportunity he now have! He took the light beam directly and took full damage. There was no apparent damage to the armor... but the shielding had weakened quite a bit. Zerodius: "Now for a beating!" Zerodius opened his left hand as he stared at Cyberaptor. Zerodius: "NULL!!!" Zerodius thrown a red sphere of disruptive energy at Cyberaptor! Upon impact, it would reduce his magical resistances and defenses to 0 for the current turn. At this moment, Zerodius should have stopped to recharge... but then, the effects of his TRIPLE spell became apparent: thanks to it, he is able to cast 3 spells in a single turn! As such... Zerodius: "Time to create a new spell! Let's see if this will work... ROBOT SPRAY!!!" Zerodius shot a huge, dull-looking brown beam at Cyberaptor. The beam wouldn't inflict damage... but it would rust beyond repair all of the metallic componements of his body. Zerodius: "Now for my third and final spell. Here comes the pain! ROCK GRAVE!!!" Suddenly, sharp spikes made of rock came out of the ground around Cyberaptor to impale him and since he was paralysed... he would most likely be hit. Once he would be impaled from all sides, a single, larger spike would come from below. It would break the other spikes on impact and smash into Cyberaptor at high speed, sending him flying straight above and then cause him to land directly on the spike, causing him to be impaled one last time. Then, finally, the last spike would disappear thus ending the attack. All in all, it was a level Beta attack (according to Zerodius, the attack would drain from 10% to 20% of Cyberaptor's Life Force more or less). With his last spell casted, Zerodius clutched his Arm Blaster in pain. His circuits had overheated from casting so many spells in a row but he tought that it was worth it. After all, the damage he had dealt to himself would be minimal compared to the damage inflicted to Cyberaptor. | I just...can't...stop replying today! ----- The spell nulli came at Cyberaptor, and being one of pure magic, was disintegrated by the shield around him! The second one, somehow, totally demolished the force field and proceeded to rust up his armor a bit, at a less powerful rate. Then finally, rock grave gave Cyberaptor the first good thrashing of the battle. He emerged from the torn up ground with beat up armor, but amazingly not bleeding. A quick little robo-arm came out of his pack and sprayed his armor with some shiny substance, getting rid of the rust. Cyberaptor: Broouk! Brouk! Grargh! Computer: Relax, you have the cyber-scepter now! Cyberaptor glanced at his jousting stick, a wonder in creation; it combined technology with magic, allowing for some seriously unique spell casting. Cyberaptor had never used it yet, but he knew perfectly well how to use it. After pausing for a moment, he twirled it and waved it, and suddenly a green mist shot out of it. At a close inspection, the mist would have been discovered to be made of small 1's and 0's. The mist flew at Zerodius, circled him, and then covered him. The mist would lower defenses and speed if not avoided... While Cyberaptor casted this spell, Computer suddenly became very concerned about something he just learned. |

| Zerodius stared at the data flying toward him... Zerodius: "Thankfully, it doesn't travel quite quickly..." The thrusters in Zerodius's feet activated as he dashed to Cyberaptor's left, below the weird and probably deadly clouds of mist. Once he got to his destination, Zerodius pointed his Arm Blaster at Cyberaptor... Zerodius: "You took that combo better than espected... but well, I would have been disappointed if you would have been defeated too easily." Zerodius stood there and then... his Arm Blaster transformed back into a normal arm?!? Zerodius: "I'll change my battle style now... Let's see if you're as good in melee combat than in long-range." Zerodius unsheated his sword. It was truly weird... it was unnaturally huge and seemed more like a mix between a saber, a spear, and a rifle than a real sword... The weapon was quite big: at least 4 times as wide as a medieval sword, twice as long as a medieval sword. The sword was also half-biological obviously as the blade was covered with veins... and the jewel on the hilt didn't looked like a jewel at all... it looked more like an eye, in truth. | Computer: !!! Cyberaptor: Grc? Cyberaptor's computer had just gained a nearly complete perspective on who they were fighting, and just how powerful he/it was. Computer: ...So, the most powerful being of a universe is who we're up against? ... ... ... Cyberaptor was nervous for a moment, but just for a moment. He twirled his jousting stick again and charged, with his jetpack propelling him forward. With a fast wave of his stick, a powerful green beam, much like a whip, shot out to whack Zerodius. Cyberaptor drew it back and whipped it again a few more times in a combo. Each hit would lower the target's defense for the battle, but just a little. It would also deal a medium amount of damage. The green mist swirled back toward Zerodius again. |

| Zerodius: "Actually... I am not not the most powerful being in the Universe... I'm the one who created the most powerful being in the Universe!... and the Universe happen to be, technically, my property." Zerodius didn't remained iddle while he spoke. He noticed the whip and the mist... Zerodius tought that it was a case of "Pick your poison"... and as such, he decided that blocking the energy whip would be smarter than ducking under the strange mist again. As the mist came in contact with his armor, Zerodius found out that it was acid; his defense would be lowered for a while and the articulations in his mechanical body rusted a little bit; his speed would be slightly lower. As for the energy whip... Zerodius wielded his weapon with speed and skill, blocking the combo even with the mist slowing him down. Once he was done blocking, Zerodius attacked. Zerodius held his weapon in front of him and activated the thrusters in his feet as he began to spin... and spin.. and spin... and soon enough, Zerodius had became a mini-tornado that would suck Cyberaptor in, slash him TONS of times (each individual strike would be weak however), and then send him flying away at high speed.
